49 – Spoils of victory?

A great number of Elves returned to the plaza where the fumes of battle had yet to vanish. In front of me, the Queen had gotten down on one knee. She was literally bowing before me.

"I would like to ask for forgiveness for my many impolite acts towards you."

It seemed that her opinion had changed due to the difference in ability that was shown right before her eyes. There was no longer any reason to quarrel with me.

"Hmph……What’s wrong? Are we not going to continue the matter from earlier? You were ready to point your weapons at me."

"Surely you jest. There is no way someone like me or anyone here for that matter would be a match for you. Rather, Edelweiss-sama, you were worrying yourself over how to not injure us……I have come to realize that."

"Uu, no."

I wasn't exactly thinking about the elves' welfare. I just hated the thought about someone's freedom being robbed. I couldn't stand it. It was pure luck that the elves were far enough not to get frozen. Honestly this snow and ice will melt in roughly 2 days. It shouldn't cause too much damage to the forest either because there's a lot of mana in the ground for nature to flourish.

"I also wanted to express my gratitude. I didn't know that Galan was a troll. If you wouldn't have exposed him… I can't even imagine what he would have done to me if I married him." (Harmonia)

"But… we still have a predicament. We still don't have a king." (Queen)

"Do you guys really still need a king? You wanted one in order to strengthen the seal. I basically pummeled the Demon King. With him out of the equation, can't you live without one?"

"I… don't know. Duskwood always had a king. Even now I feel that it needs a king to protect the kingdom. If you had not been here, the kingdom would have been lost, and both Harmonia and I would not be alive right now. The kingdom needs someone strong like…"

I noticed the gaze in her eyes. I know what's coming and it's a big hell NO.

"Don't even think about it. Yes, I am strong but I don't have any interest in being tied to one place. Besides, ruling others is troublesome.

If you need a ruler, why not trust her judgment?"

I obviously pointed towards Harmonia. All matters aside, I came with a solution. The Queen can continue ruling until Harmonia decides on a husband herself. She has better judgment than the airhead Queen. As for any other issues, the Queen can always lend her ear to Lecia. Her advice should be solid.

After a few more minutes…

The entire matter reached a conclusion and the remaining elves all consented to let the Queen continue ruling until Harmonia picks a husband herself.

"I don't know what we could possibly do to thank you. Should we build a shrine in your honor?"

What's up with people and shrines? I wouldn't know what to do with one anyway. Originally I planned to have Lecia join me and declare her loyalty to me. However that doesn't seem possible as she will be needed here. And I can't stand working for free even if I stepped in on a whim. So all things aside…

I whispered in the Queen's ear my libido issue. Her face naturally went red. And I think she was more surprised when I told her I had a male genitalia. She put her hand under her chin and pondered for a few moments.

Naturally, I also had to keep Yuki in check. Even though she's tamed, she's still a yandere. If a woman is mentioned and doesn't get her approval, she'll accuse me of cheating again… or worse she would actually try to kill the woman in question.

"Magitech Doll."

"Huh? What's that?"

"Edelweiss-sama, are you perhaps familiar with the term golem or homunculus?"

"Can't say I'm not. Those are dwarvish attempts at artificial life. Like a robot."

"Row-butt?”

Ok. It’s obvious she won’t know modern terms. Golems are several types of magically created constructs. They are mindless, emotionless creations that know only how to fulfill the orders of their creators. A golem is a lifeless puppet - a magical force provides the animation.

A Homunculus is essentially a man-made artificial extension of nature that, external factors aside, can't be killed for as long as the planet is healthy and has mana left. They will regenerate from any wounds they receive. However, the price of being given life through such artificial means is that the Homunculus will invariably have some sort of physical defect like small stature, short lifespan, lower intellect or lack of reproductive capabilities are just a few examples. Even with their potential, they are below humans when it comes down to their strength as life-forms.

“I don’t know what this row-butt is, but you are partially right. The technology in this era allowed dwarves to create golems or homunculus, however because of the power source, most only last a few days at most before crumbling.

A Magitech Doll is different. The principle is the same, however it's a creation from the age of myths. The perfect companion was achieved in the age of myths. A life form that dedicates her soul to the master. It's said that the power source is infinite. If you were to claim such a Doll…"

"I see. Well, you sure picked my interest. Go on."

The Queen perfectly described some ancient ruins that the races avoid. Simply because anyone who goes there never comes back. The Magitech Doll destroyed every trespasser. And I should mention this one in particular is female and functions the same way. Although she can't reproduce, she does have a hole. The Queen mentioned this because of my display. She thinks I am strong enough to beat it and claim it.

The Queen continued with the description. Apparently these ruins are near the border of the land of giants. Giants are another race, just like elves. However they were fewer in number. And… giant people means one thing. Giant food portions. I guess I know what my next destination is going to be.

And the big shock.

"If you're ok, I can keep you company tonight."

Her face was red and naturally she didn't say this out loud.

"Huh?"

"You said you have issues… down there. Although I don't feel comfortable doing it with anyone other than my late husband… since we have nothing to give you for all the good you have done for us… I am willing to… you know…

Just one time. One time. And nobody must know!"

Well well. She agrees to have sex with me? Fufu. Always wondered what a milf tastes like. There's no way I am going to pass on something like this so I welcome this opportunity with open hands. She'll be my main dish tonight.
