A Day with Lili II

"Haru-chan." Lili greeted Haruhime who had called out to her in the middle of the street, it appeared they were both heading to the same safehouse and thus ended up meeting on the way.

All of the girls had gotten pretty close by now and Haruhime decided she wanted a pet name so just like Liliruca was called Lili by everyone, she wanted to be called Haru. In the end, it all turned into a big brainstorming event where they came up with pet names for everyone.

But then, Lili noticed someone with her which did not belong to their group and thus, should not be heading to the safehouse, even though she felt like Haruhime was going straight in that direction.

Suddenly, a bad feeling surfaced in her heart.

The feeling like interference in her long awaited big day with Nox was about to appear and rob her of the happiness she thirsted for night and day, ever since Nox came into her cold, dreary life and made it so bright and colorful.

Still, before she started pointing fingers, Lili felt like she had to make sure, Haruhime was one of the girls she was closest with inside the group, perhaps her actual best friend so the pallum felt she deserved the benefit of the doubt.

She thought this despite Haruhime having no idea of the circumstances and obviously not trying to hamper her in any way but alas . . . It was truly a day Lili had been craving for so long, any who tried to interfere in it, intentionally or not, would feel her pent up wrath.

"Chigusa-san . . . Right?" Lili immediately broached the subject of the girl accompanying Haruhime. Chisgusa from the Takemikazuchi Familia.

Being called, Chigusa bowed slightly as a greeting while Haruhime was the one to explain her presence.

"Chi-chan has decided to come over to us so I'm taking her to see Nox since he's at the safehouse down the street I think." The blonde renard explained, confirming all of Lili's fears.

A new arrival on the group was certainly a big event that would disrupt normal activities to help the newbie acclimatize to the new environment, as such, Lili felt there was a considerable chance that her day with Nox would have to be postponed until after Chigusa settled in and was fully integrated into the group's activities.

It would be at least a week's delay and while a week's worth of time was nothing compared to what she had already waited for, now that the prize was right in her sights, close enough that she could almost touch it if she reached out, Lili could definitely not handle such a delay.

Still, was there anything she could do?

Or more accurately, was there anything she could do that would not come back to bite her in her little ass later?

The answer was unfortunately, a big fat no. Lili could mislead Haruhime and send her somewhere else, tell Haruhime she had something planned with Nox and she would most certainly pick another day but while everyone would accept it, they definitely would not find it pleasing that she chose to delay the whole group's matters just to get what she wanted first.

And so, the only option left for Lili, was to believe Nox would do right by her and arrange things in such a way that they could still go on their agreed upon date tomorrow. Whatever the case, she decided not to go to the safehouse where Nox was.

She was afraid she would not be able to bear hearing something she did not want to hear if they were face to face and she was only planning on seeing him the following day when she was looking her best anyways and so, she parted with the two girls after saying her goodbyes.

"Haru-chan can go ahead and meet Nox-sama then, I still have some things to take care of." Lili said before running off.

Haruhime felt Lili's attitude was a bit strange and different from the norm but didn't think to deeply about it and felt that even if she should broach the subject, it would be best to do so when they were both alone.

With this in mind, she proceeded with her original intention of taking Chigusa to Nox so that she could officially be welcomed into their merry little band.

A few minutes later, this was achieved as the two girls bowed before Nox as a polite greeting, Chigusa since she was a newcomer meeting her new leader and quite humble to begin with and Haruhime because it was the custom to bow to one's husband like so in the far east and she so loved doing anything done by married couples with him.

"I see you've made up your mind about joining us. Welcome aboard Chigusa-chan, I'm quite happy about your decision." Nox said while giving Haruhime a smile which the renard returned.

"I-I'm also glad to have come here. I l-look forward to working together with Nox-sama, Haru-chan and everyone else." Chigusa replied, nervous yet also full of expectations towards her future.

"Haruhime has already told you about the standard procedure for newcomers yes?" Nox then inquired.

"Yes Nox-sama. I'm ready to bind the contract." Chigusa replied, her voice making her resolve obvious for anyone hearing it.

"Excellent! Here you go then." Nox said before pulling out a Soul Contract from his Item Box and putting it in front of Chigusa.

"All you have to do is make the pledge as detailed in the contract and drip your blood on the designated spot, then you'll be a fully fledged member of my merry band of adventurers."
