Chapter 251 – Fly Spell
From the entrance, the corridor led us to the living room on the right and a kitchen on the left. The living room was spacious, containing one small bookshelf, a table with chairs, and some sofas.
“I didn’t know you liked reading books, master.”
“Only erotic ones.”
“Those are a thing?”
“Of course. They’re easy to find if you know where to go.”
We continued by checking the kitchen, which wasn’t anything special, with only a few furniture and appliances.
“I don’t cook so often. I usually buy something from the market or go to an inn.”
“Well, cooking isn’t a necessary skill if you have enough money.”
“Exactly.”
The rest of the space on the first floor was made up of storage rooms and a bathroom.
“How does the bathroom work?”
“Someone comes to remove the dirty stuff and bring fresh water from time to time.”
Next was the second floor, which was also the highest one. This one was much simpler. It had one large room and two smaller ones.
“The large one is mine, and the smaller ones are for visitors. They’re not used often because people who visit usually sleep in my room.”
“…Makes sense.”
“Last stop, I kept the best for the end. Follow me.”
We went back to the first floor and stopped in one of the storage rooms. There, she opened a trap door with stairs leading down. There was a basement, which acted as a supplementary storage room. However, the most interesting element was the item in its center. It was like a large round stone, shining in the wind spell I had noticed previously. A part of it even sank into the floor, making for an interesting design.
“Look and behold! This stone is an enchanted item. It can store the fly spell as long as it has enough sel. It’s the one that allows this whole building to float in the sky.”
“Wow. That’s impressive. Who’s providing the sel?”
“It’s managed by young winged mages. They come every day to provide it. I have to pay three silvers a day for their service. They’re also the ones managing the bathroom and toilet problems.”
“So there’s a whole system behind this.”
“Yep! It’s perfect for these young mages to earn some easy money. If they just take care of ten houses, they’re earning thirty silvers, and it probably doesn’t use that much time. I heard there were a lot of fights about who would get the jobs since they’re so good.”
That made sense. As for why they had to be winged, it was due to their rank. If a non-winged mage wanted to get the job, they probably would need to be rank 3. That was because common sense dictated that the first spell should be a defensive one, and the second spell was usually an offensive one. That would mean they would need to be rank 3 to finally learn the fly spell and be able to take on the job. At that rank, there would be much better jobs than this, considering they were mages. As for winged species, they could start from almost any rank, as long as they met the requirement in terms of the sel quantity they needed to provide to the enchanted items.
“I see. They’re the ones taking care that the house doesn’t drop when you’re leaving for a long expedition.”
“To be exact, this isn’t a choice. It’s mandatory. No one is allowed to manage the floating of their house. That’s because owners can’t be trusted to always do it. And one building falling on the city would be a disaster. Those three daily silvers are an expense that automatically comes with the house and can’t be avoided.”
“That’s not a small amount of money in the long term. What about the house itself? It must have been expensive?”
“Very expensive. I had to save for a long time to be able to buy it.”
“Can I ask how much exactly, by curiosity?”
She smiled as if she expected that question from me.
“It was 1,800 golds, no less! Kahahah!”
“Whoa… That’s insane.”
Even if I sold my five shops in Makji, they would only be worth about half of that amount together, all for one house. Well, floating in the sky, of course.”
“I have no regrets. It feels so good to live so far above the rest of the people. I’ve had some of my best sex and masturbation sessions here! Kahahah!”
I smiled wryly, and she stuck close to me.
“You’ve seen it all now. It’s time to fuck! I’ve been wet since I saw you again today after a long time.”
“…Master, don’t you have a lot of partners?”
“Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Right now, I don’t, so you came right on time. My cloaca had been itching for some action.”
She nodded sagely as if she was saying something profound. I guessed this might be related to how wild she was in bed, plus how she often got into sex related trouble. All that probably left her with a lot fewer partners than she liked.
“It seems I’ll have to sacrifice myself for my master’s well-being. I’m truly a great disciple.”
“Pffft. As if you hate it.”
We smiled at each other before she guided me back to her room. Its most prominent feature was the extra-large bed, big enough to fit five or six medium-sized species.
As soon as we crossed the threshold, she turned my head her way and kissed me wildly. I responded to her smooch with similar passion, and our tongues entangled for a long time, exploring our respective mouths.
In parallel, our hands weren’t idle either. She was running hers over my torso and crotch while I had mine on her legs and tail. Her eyes filled with lust as she felt me over her, and her over me, my human taste filling her mouth, and her tangy eagle saliva filling mine.
