Chapter 235 – Happy
As soon as the door closed behind me, my gaze met my employee’s calm brown eyes.
“What makes you so happy, Minsto?”
“I’m content with my current life.”
“How was it before?”
“I was renting an apartment alone, going to work every day with colleagues who didn’t like me much.”
“Ah, that must have been agonizing. Fortunately, you met me.”
“Yes.”
Her honesty always made me grin.
“What do you like about your current lifestyle?”
“Many things. I enjoy living with other people. I like Suuru’s house, Suuru herself, and you. The food is good, and there’s plenty of water. My work’s going well, and you don’t bother me unnecessarily.”
“So, basically, you totally adore me?”
“Yes.”
“Haha. Everyone feels the same, but you’re the only one telling it straight to my face. It feels refreshing.”
“I’m sure not everyone feels the same, but I also don’t understand why the ones that do would hesitate to say so.”
“That’s because you’re special! Even if other people wish to imitate you, they can’t. Useless social norms limit them. How sad.”
“I agree with you, for once.”
“What do you mean, for once? The words that come out of my mouth are always universal truths!”
“They’re not.”
“You’re also failing to see the light. All right. Should we go check a construction company for the factory now? I’m ruined, so we won’t be able to hire them, but it’ll be good to get an estimate for the future.”
“Yes.”
We visited several building companies. The quote for building a factory on that plot of land was steep. Just like the price of the land, construction prices were much higher than in 82. A quick estimate came to at least two million lods. And that was still without the cost of the production lines that would need to be built inside.
We weren’t without hope, though. It was possible to start constructing it even if we didn’t have the whole amount from the start. Since I didn’t want to take a loan and didn’t need to, we could simply pay for the workers, materials, and margins as they came. If we couldn’t pay anymore? The construction would stop. It was as simple as that.
Still, all the companies required a security fund of at least 20% of the total cost, since it was too risky to start with truly the bare minimum. That meant we needed at least 400,000 lods to start the project, which would take a few more weeks of savings.
After eating in a decent restaurant in 2, we teleported back home. Whether the factory construction began now or later, Minsto had plenty of work to do, and the same was true for me. We swiftly separated to go on our way.
I was now the owner of an empty plot of land in dome 2. Thinking about it, it didn’t sound that great, but that would be corrected soon. It was now time to work hard in both the inner and outer world.
Time passed quickly after that. We were all busy enough that the days went by one after the other, barely leaving us any breathing room.
Suuru was training her magic whenever she had free time, Minsto was as hardworking as usual, and Selva seemed to have taken a liking to Ekidos, fighting random people every time I visited her. Somehow, she was getting popular with the locals, despite their innate lack of trust toward foreigners.
As for Kuini, the bunny was enjoying a great amount of sex every day. Now that the ice had completely broken between us, nothing was stopping our constant copulation. Every morning when we were together in the warehouse, we jumped on one another and fucked wildly. The sessions were usually short since we didn’t have that much time, but that was compensated for by their intensity.
After a few weeks, I believed there wasn’t a spot in the warehouse that hadn’t witnessed our adventures. Kuini had grown fond of some weird acts, too, like when she demanded to be placed on my dick while I worked on loading the boxes in my carriage. This was also a recommendation from Mrs. Fitak, who was a lot wilder than she appeared. I ended up having a bunny moaning in delight at every step I took, especially whenever the jolt was large enough. It was an odd but interesting way to work, with my cock sheathed deep inside her pussy, her warmth and wetness surrounding me. Whenever she was close to climaxing, she would grab my waist and bang herself on my tool to get her release. On my side, when I felt the time was up, I would stabilize her small body with my hands and slam into her until ejaculation, which often ended in the girl fainting from the strong pleasure.
There was little progress on Geola’s side, and the population was growing tired of being quarantined. For once, this was something that both rich and poor agreed on, proof of how terrible the disease was.
My shops in Makji were doing well… for the most part. I still visited them daily, except one day, when I only found burnt ruins welcoming me I one of the cities, and my employees in front of them. It wasn’t just my store, though. A large part of the city had burnt down during the night before water mages had managed to quell the fire. The streets were full of despairing inhabitants and shop owners who had lost everything in a single night, looking dumbly at the disaster in front of them.
Many had died in the fire, too, and both the city and population would need a lot of time before recovering. It was also a large loss for me. There was obviously nothing like insurance in this medieval world. Whatever happened to you was your bad luck, and that was it.
I had no choice but to use any profits I had generated in the country to rebuild it, hoping that such events wouldn’t happen too often.
