The next morning, sunlight filtered through the thin curtains, casting a warm, golden glow across the bedroom.
Alex groaned, shifting heavily on the bedsheets. He barely slept all night.
Every time he closed his eyes, his newly sensitive skin would betray him, recalling the cool, ghost-like touch of the Empress.
"Ah—" The sound escaped before he could trap it. Even now, as he sat up and rubbed his eyes, his chest felt incredibly tender.
The sheets rustled as he pushed himself upright, and the motion made his pajama top shift again.
The buds on his chest, the word breasts still felt impossible, still made something in his gut clench with denial, pressed against the fabric, and a shiver rolled down his spine like cold water.
Not entirely unpleasant. That was the worst part. That was what kept him awake half the night.
"Ugh... I feel like I got run over by a truck," he muttered, running a hand through his messy hair.
His voice. Still his, mostly, but with a softness at the edges that hadn't been there last week.
Like someone had sanded down the roughness while he slept. He cleared his throat, trying to find the old gravel, but it just came out as a delicate cough.
Alex forced himself out of bed and walked over to the bathroom to splash some cold water on his face.
The bathroom mirror was waiting for him like an ambush.
Alex stood in front of it, gripping the edges of the sink, and made himself look.
He stared at his reflection in the mirror for a long moment. His facial features were definitely softening, becoming more delicate and feminine.
His hair was the first thing he noticed. It had grown again, even after he cut it just a few days back, not dramatically, but enough to get noticed.
The dark strands fell past his jawline now, framing a face that was steadily betraying him. His cheekbones seemed higher.
His chin is less square. The overall effect was soft, almost pretty, in a way that made his stomach turn.
He slapped his cheeks lightly to wake himself up.
"Wake up," Alex said to his reflection. "Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop thinking about…"
The Empress. Even unspoken, the name sent a ripple through his skin. That ghost-like touch in the dark.
He couldn't let his changing body or that perverted ghost distract him.
He wants to get stronger… Stronger, way stronger than anyone else!!
Determined to wash away the heavy thoughts, Alex grabbed the edge of his shirt and pulled it over his head.
He just needed a quick, cold shower. Nothing more.
But as the fabric cleared his head and dropped heavily to the bathroom floor, his eyes betrayed him. They locked onto his reflection in the mirror once more.
His chest.
No. His hands dropped lifelessly to his sides.
In the mirror, a person who used to be a young man stared back. Now, he was someone caught in between.
His collarbones were delicate and sharp, leading down to an undeniable, soft swelling of small breasts.
"Fuck it... they are slightly bigger than yesterday!" he hissed to the empty room, leaning closer to the glass.
Not by much, his logical side argued. Maybe a few millimeters.
It was the kind of change someone else might never notice.
You would only see it if you were checking every single day, measuring the growth with your eyes, with your cupped hands, and with the heavy clench of your anxious heart.
And he was checking them every fucking single day since the completion of Phase one.
Every morning for four days, he would stand right here in the cold bathroom air.
He would track the changes with the desperate, obsessive precision of someone watching a wound that just wouldn't heal.
Day one: flat, but the buds were there, angry and overly sensitive.
Day two: still flat, but the tissue underneath felt thicker, like a quiet promise.
Day three: a slight, unmistakable curve.
And now, day four. It was undeniable.
His chest had taken on the soft, swelling shape of early adolescence.
The increase was slow, very slow, but it was steady. The second phase of his Ecdysis was beginning to speed up.
“Are you admiring your new gifts, little one?” A sudden, icy chill ran down Alex's spine.
The air in the bathroom dropped ten degrees, and a phantom scent of lotus and dark incense filled his nose.
He didn't need to turn around to know the Empress was floating right behind him.
Her voice was a sultry whisper, echoing right next to his ear. “You can deny it all you want, but your body is blooming beautifully. Look at those pretty little peaks... they suit you.”
"Shut up," Alex muttered, his cheeks burning with a hot flush that had nothing to do with anger.
He closed his eyes, trying to ignore the ghostly feeling of a slender, cold finger tracing the outline of his right shoulder.
He willed the system panel to appear in his mind.

There it was. It was passively increasing by one percent every single day.
Even without absorbing any external Empythic energy, this speed was barely any slower than the first phase.
And now, with this perverted ghost Empress clinging to him, constantly pushing him toward unknown troubles and teasing his senses... it was only going to accelerate faster.
He raised a trembling hand. Slowly, he pressed his palm flat against his sternum, right above the soft swell of his new flesh.
His skin was so warm. It was impossibly smooth and soft, lacking any of the masculine roughness he used to have.
‘Don't touch them,’ his brain screamed at him. ‘Don't you dare.’
But his fingers slid lower anyway.
The contact was incredibly light, barely a brush of his fingertips against his own skin.
“Ahaaa!!” Yet, the moment he grazed his sensitive areola, his nipple pebbled instantly into a tight, hard point.
A sudden, sharp jolt of electric pleasure arced down through his belly like lightning finally finding the ground.
His breath hitched, a soft, embarrassing gasp escaping his lips. His legs actually trembled for a second.
“Oh my... so sensitive,” the Empress cooed from the shadows, her voice dripping with dark amusement.
“Just a simple touch and you melt. Imagine what will happen when they grow into a proper, heavy handful or even larger… maybe like mine.”
“Then you don’t need to find someone else to dress up in sexy suits or lingerie for you…”
“You could try them all yourself, what do you say?”
"I said... shut up," Alex breathed out, gripping the edge of the sink to steady himself.
He hated how good the touch felt. He hated that his body wanted more of it.
“Hehehee!!!” The Empress smirked as her figure disappeared into gin air.
He forced his eyes away from his chest and looked down at his waist.
There wasn't a massive or any visible change yet, but he could feel the subtle shifts.
His waistline was shrinking, pulling inward from his initial thirty inches to something much smaller and tighter.
His hips felt a tiny bit wider, making his waist look even more slender.
Due to the serpentine musculature, the mass he was gaining didn't make him bulky.
Instead, it made his midsection incredibly flexible, soft on the outside but packed with hidden strength beneath the skin.
He was becoming softer, sleeker, and undeniably more feminine with every passing hour.
With a frustrated groan, Alex turned away from the mirror and stepped into the shower, turning the water as cold as it could go.
He wanted to freeze these feelings away before the Empress could tease him any further.
