Chapter 86 – Today I worked hard.
For the rest of the day I did nothing, I even started to feel bad for watching everyone working while sitting talking to Lucy, I think I started to understand how she feels.
When night came, I waited for the food to be ready, ate, and then went to sleep. I decided that the next day I would help some people with the construction of some houses together with my aunt, or maybe we would hunt again, depending on what my aunt was asking for.
Again I slept in just a few minutes and woke up only the next day, with a lot of noise around me, mainly with hammering, the construction of the houses was still in full swing, and I hadn't even gotten up yet.
Well, I couldn't call these things hammers ... They are just pieces of wood.
Lucy also continued to sleep next to me, I don't know how she managed with all this noise, but I preferred not to wake her and I got up to start work. First I washed my face, and then I went to my aunt.
"So, what can I help you with?" She was helping one of her "Students" to carry a huge piece of wood, but she didn't seem to be having any difficulties, since he ... I feel like he could drop that wood at any moment.
"I think you can help me carry this over here, he can't take it." My aunt looked at the man with disgust, making him turn away, I confess I was a little sorry, but I went in his place and started to help my aunt.
Because of our size difference, it was a little more difficult to carry the wood, but I didn't find it so heavy, so I had no problems.
After a few steps, we arrived at a house that was already starting to get up, this wood would be part of the house wall. It was just like our old houses, very similar to lumberjack houses, all made of stacked wood, it was getting pretty, but it wasn't very big either.
We put the log in place with the help of other people who were around, after that, we left the rest of the work to them and went to get another log to continue construction.
"How long before this house is ready?" I asked my aunt while walking with her, several people were also going to get more wood, many houses were being built at the same time.
"Maybe two more days, it is a little difficult to build a house from scratch, there are several to be done yet, even with everyone working, it will take a long time for all of them to be ready." My aunt did not seem discouraged.
"I see, so I have to work hard to do this as quickly as possible."
"Yes, but don't try too hard, hahaha"After our conversation, another wooden log was taken by both of us, and it happened several times, so many times that I can't even count or remember, but we did it so quickly that when I realized the house was almost done with its walls.
It was quick because it was a small house, it was so small that it only had one room, but apparently, these houses would be only temporary and would be enlarged over time.
This is good to hear, as we need a bigger house to live together.
"I think it's fine for today, it's starting to get dark, you worked hard today, congratulations." My aunt put her hand and my head and then took a deep breath, just like me, she looked tired.
"You worked hard too, don't you think you should get some rest? You've been working like crazy for a few days." I was starting to worry about her, as I never saw my aunt work so much before.
"Don't worry, I'm quite resistant, now I'm going to help prepare dinner, you can go back to your precious Lucy," Mine said as she smiled.
"Okay, but don't try too hard." This time it was my turn to say that, but she just replied with a smile and then went to help other people prepare dinner, it seems that today we were going to eat the wild boar meat that we hunted yesterday.
After we brought them in, I didn't see them anymore, the job of cleaning them is not up to me, and I couldn't even do that, so I only see them again when they're on my plate, and I thank you for that.
'Now, come on.' Then I took a deep breath and started walking to the place where we were sleeping, with our arms and legs a little sore because of the weight I was carrying all day.
I got close to Lucy and threw myself on the floor, I was more tired than I thought I would be.
Lucy looked worried, so she approached, but soon realized that there was nothing wrong, it was just the fatigue of an entire day's work hitting me at once: "You look tired."
"Yes, I am very tired."
"You worked hard today, I don't think I would ever be able to carry those timbers," Lucy said as she looked at his thin, delicate arms.
"Look, you can train a lot." I showed her my equally thin arms, the only thing different was the muscles that could be seen if I strained my arm a little.
I had trained a lot to stay that way, but it still isn't enough.
"I will try." She really seemed willing to train, and if she wants to do that, it will be a lot of fun, because I can help her.
But I didn't say anything, I kept lying on the floor and smiling as I watched her forcing her little arms to try to make some muscle visible, but to no avail.
