Having said this, Aki didn't waste any more time as he began forcefully using the power he had recently acquired from the future devil to infer the location of the gunmen.

'Damn it! I am not able to fully control my abilities yet, additionally, this move expands too much mental prowess, so, I'll have to be quick.'

'It's just that there is nothing we can do about it now as without dealing with these gunmen, we'll be in a too passive of a situation.'

'The ones who are currently attacking us head-on aren't the issue here as they are quite close and their position exposed.'

'The problem here is the hidden ones.'

'We must find them unless we want to be shot in the back.'

Having already determined his next course of action and begun to implement it, all these thoughts did was reaffirm his decision, causing him to accelerate his movements even further.

*Bzzzz*

His pupils shone with a golden hue as visions of the future, fragments of different paths down the tributaries of the long river of time began flashing in his mind.

Resisting the splitting headache caused by his mind being flooded with vast amounts of information, Aki clutched his head between his arms, much to Himeno's great worry, as he shouted.

"Denji! Power! There are 4 Gunmen upfront; Two of which are aiming at you, as for the other two, one is aiming at us, and the other at Kabini and Arai."

Saying this, Aki, who had just stated the obvious finally moved to the useful portion of the information.

However, this time, instead of shouting out loud, he moved his head closer to Himeno and whispered softly into her ear.

"Himano, do you see the old man and woman lying on the ground behind us?"

"W-Wait." Responded Himeno in an equally low volume, her voice cracking slightly as she felt the warmth of his breath against her earlobes.

However, knowing that this wasn't the time for any of this, Himeno subtly turned her head to the side, observing the target mentioned by Aki while trying her best not to be obvious.

After all, seeing the quiet manner in which Aki delivered the information, it didn't take a genius to realize that something was obviously off.

"Yes, I see them now. Is there anything wrong with them?" she continued after mentally 'marking' them.

"Yes, no time for explanations; Just use your power and quickly take them out; Don't give them any time to react or use their guns." Aki instructed urgently.

Hearing this, Himeno instantly understood that these two were hidden assassins, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike when their vigilance was at its lowest.

'An old man and an old woman, that's a good disguise; If it weren't for Aki's ability, we wouldn't have realized it until it was too late.' Himeno thought to herself.

Finally understanding the situation and having a clear target, Himeno immediately used her contracted ghost devil's ability to silently target the two, fully relying on the fact that her power was completely invisible.

'Well, it seems that my ability is perfect for stuff like this.'

Remarking silently, Himeno continued using her ability, aiming to swiftly extinguish their lives with a single strike.

*Swish*

Meanwhile, just as the transparent arm, with its ghostly mouth bizarrely placed on the palm, pierced silently through the air heading straight for their targets; The two elderly assassins, entirely unaware of the deadly threat approaching, continued to maintain their cover, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

It's just that unbeknownst to them, their carefully crafted disguise and patient vigilance were about to be shattered in an instant.

*Swish*

*BOOM*

Splattered blood, crushed limbs, and zero survivors — That was the result of Himeno's sudden attack.

There were no plot twists, no protective powers, and no sudden saviors.

The attack was swift and brutal, leaving no survivors in its wake.

It was a decisive strike, a testament to the deadly efficiency of Himeno's ghostly ability, especially in situations like this.

The assassins had basically no chance to react, their lives were extinguished in a heartbeat.

However, their deaths didn't mean that the battle was over, it's just that after getting rid of them, the devil hunters' group could now turn their attention to the remaining four gunmen.

So, in the wake of Himeno's sudden attack, the remaining members of the group swiftly sprang into action each leaping from one cover to another, steadily closing the distance between themselves and the gunmen.

*Bang*

As the situation dawned upon them, the gunmen, who had once held the advantage, couldn't suppress their panic.

Their meticulously laid plans now lay in ruins, and the realization of their perilous predicament sent a shiver down their spines.

Their only recourse now was to continue firing their weapons desperately while clinging to the hope of landing a lucky shot.

*Bang*

However, their futile tactics soon reached a physical limit — Their ammunition.

As soon enough the sound of empty trigger presses reverberated through the air causing their despair to soar to unprecedented heights.

*Clink*

In this dire situation, all they could do was release a desperate scream, perhaps the last echo of their existence in this chilling world as they awaited their end.

"AHHH!!!

"DAMNN ITTT!!!

"NOOO!!

And waiting they didn't have to do much, as suddenly, the sound of air being pierced by rapid objects echoed beside them as Denji and Power, now unleashing a portion of their powers, materialized next to the gunmen.

Then, as if following a preordained cue, numerous wounds materialized across the gunmen's bodies, blood erupting in splatters as their flesh was torn apart.

"HAHAHAHA! COWER UNDER MY MAGISTY!!" Shouted the now excited Power as she towered over the dead bodies.

Watching this, Denji casually picked his ear with his pinky finger and remarked.

"Seriously, who brings a gun to a devil's fight?"
