Chapter 284: Attention

Teleporting both Makima and Kishibe away, Lorien stood alone in the midst of the field of golden flowers, his cloak swaying gently in the breeze while the flowers gracefully bent in its direction.

Glancing deeply in the direction where he had sent them, a small grin slowly spread across Lorien's face as a sense of satisfaction was evident in his expression.

'This should be enough.'

Reflecting on his actions since arriving in this world and commencing his struggle against the world's will, Lorien began to organize his thoughts.

'I've done everything within my power for now.'

'First, I've implanted the dream tree into the consciousness and dreams of millions, and now all that's left is to wait for its propagation throughout the world.'

'Most importantly, I've launched the Dream Path in this world, serving as both a diversion and perhaps a contingency plan if shit hits the fan.'

'However, unless something unexpected happens, the will of the world ought to concentrate all its attention on the power system, and it most likely won't discover the genuine hidden threat that's silently spreading."

'It's just that even I don't know which plan will work first, whether I'll amass enough Law power to elevate myself to a level where I can forcibly seize control over the world, or if the dream trees will spread widely enough for me to utilize them effectively.'

Thinking of this, Lorien's energy clone lifted its gaze to the sky, lost in deep thought as it silently began to dissipate.

"However, it is here where the fun truly is."

"After all, what's the fun in knowing everything and always maintaining control over everything?"

"To be honest, even if I were to lose this battle, I wouldn't be that mad as it would simply mean that I'm not yet strong enough."

"So, let our silent battle officially begin."

Meanwhile, just as Lorien finally settled down and began his routine of solitary training, punctuated by occasional breaks, the world's nations teetered on the brink of meltdown.

This chaos, of course, was caused by none other than the video released by Lorien, containing information about his power system.

After all, to the human race, living under constant oppression with a seemingly eternal looming threat of death, this revelation felt nothing short of a divine intervention.

This prompted the rulers of various nations to set aside rationality and concerns about potential hidden dangers within the power system, instead hastily scrambling to capitalize on its perceived benefits.

After all, with each leader preoccupied with their personal and national interests, the fear of falling behind others became an existential threat in their minds.

"Sir, based on this information, our options are to either wait for the power system to manifest on its own or pursue it actively in Japan, what are your orders?" spoke up one of the advisors in the White House, who had remained silent until now.

In stark contrast to the other advisors, this man exuded the aura of a battle-hardened soldier, with visible scars on his face that spoke of past battles.

With just a few glances, it became apparent that this man was a devil hunter, and not just any, but a formidable one at that.

So, with his voice breaking the silence, everyone fell silent, eagerly awaiting the president's response.

And, to their immense relief and joy, the president did not disappoint as he declared decisively.

"We cannot afford to wait, as others will not."

"But, sir, there's a possibility this could be a trap..."

"It doesn't matter; We're left with no real choice here; It's either we follow the trend or risk being left behind and buried in the past."

Upon hearing this, a somber silence descended upon the room, as everyone recognized the harsh reality of their situation.

Meanwhile, similar scenes were unfolding in various countries, both large and small, as news of what happened there and the Dream Path spread thanks to Lorien's intervention.

For smaller countries, this presented an opportunity to break free from the shackles that bound them, while larger nations sought to maintain their status quo.

So, describing Japan as the eye of the storm at this moment would be a massive understatement.

"Quanxi, you've already acted as a pioneer once before; We'll entrust this task to you and your...group." The general stated, observing Quanxi's attempt to diminish her presence from the corner of his eye, feeling somewhat bewildered.

'What's wrong with her?'

Sensing that something was amiss, the general couldn't resist asking.

"Is everything alright? Have you discovered anything?"

Upon hearing the question, Quanxi hesitated briefly, however, given her long-standing familiarity with them, she realized that even if she were to divulge information about the warning she received, it wouldn't likely alter much, except perhaps the individual tasked with the mission.

It's just that Quanxi didn't want such a thing as despite acknowledging the peril, she still desired to participate, sensing the opportunity that lay entwined with the danger.

"No, I was just shocked."

"..."

Hearing this seemingly evasive response, the general's eyes couldn't help but narrow as he looked deeply at Quanxi before shifting his eyes away.

"I hope so..."

However, what no one knew at this moment was that while the complete attention of the human world was focused on one location, this attention extended far beyond its apparent boundaries.

After all, the moment the conflict between Lorien and the will of the world began, the attention of all the devils was drawn to Japan, and more precisely, the small 19km radius where Lorien was situated.

However, this wasn't the most crucial aspect; what held greater significance was that even the primordial fears were drawn to the unfolding events.

At this moment, if anyone were crazy enough to enter Hell, they would immediately notice that the pressure there was steadily mounting, as the inherent conflict of Laws among the devils became increasingly evident with each passing moment.

Typically, this wouldn't pose a problem as each devil remained concealed within their own "door"; However, with all "doors" now flung open, Hell's gates are quite literally loose.

It's just that among the devils, certain individuals exhibited a heightened interest, none more so than a devil with a bird-like body resembling a dark-colored owl, distinguished by its piercing gaze.

Deeply concealed within its "door", this particular devil's gaze was silently fixated on the human world.

"The world's will is cautioning us against approaching."

"Yet, this could actually be an opportunity..."
