Chapter 281: Even if the sky crumbles

'Finally, they chose to ask about this, I've been waiting for it!'

Suppressing his laughter, Lorien maintained his transcendent and indifferent demeanor as he paused for a moment before responding to the question.

"That's quite vague, what do you want to ask about?"

Upon hearing Lorien's response, Makima and Kishibe, who had been eagerly awaiting an answer, paused, realizing that their strategy of posing broad questions to gather more information had been discovered.

"...."

However, fortunately for them, it seemed that Lorien had chosen to turn a blind eye and let it slide as he continued and said, assuring them.

"Don't worry, as long as it is within this subject, I'll try to make things as clear as possible."

"So we don't have a limit on the number of questions?"

"Who knows."

"..."

Hearing this, Kishibe and Makima couldn't help but exchange a knowing glance, as they began to grasp Lorien's intentions.

'This is not us asking about the power system as much as he is informing us about it.' Kishibe mused silently to himself, recognizing the subtle maneuvering at play.

'So, the number of questions is irrelevant, and so are our inquiries, as he'll only provide us with the information he wants.'

'All in all, the best course of action right now is just to listen and try to make him slip, that's the best we can do.'

Thinking of this, Kishibe reverted to his cold and indifferent demeanor, taking a sip from his silver flask before glancing at Makima at Lorien.

'It seems that we have another manipulator at hand, the way they try to get things to go their way is quite similar.'

'Sigh...'

'And I thought that one was annoying enough.'

Shaking his head, Kishibe took a second sip from his silver flask before asking once again, attempting to accelerate the process while also getting straight to the point.

After all, for him, it mattered little what the opposing party stood to gain as long as it didn't endanger humanity.

Moreover, from his perspective, it appeared that the agenda might actually align with humanity's greater interests, so it was better to simply push things along.

"Then, may I inquire about the specifications of the power system and its compatibility with humans?"

Hearing this, Lorien, who had been keenly observing the interaction between Kishibe and Makima, couldn't help but smile knowingly.

'Hahahaha!'

'It seems that other than having some mental issues, the people in this world are either incredibly dumb or incredibly smart.'

'It appears that after just a few interactions, they've grasped my intentions.'

'Tsk, I have to be a bit more careful it seems.'

Acknowledging the need for prudence in his dealings with the people of this world, Lorien decided to feign ignorance and go along with the direction Kishibe had set with his previous question.

"The Dream Path power system is compatible with all living beings, even devils can practice it, however, it is primarily designed for humans."

Saying this, Lorien couldn't help but glance at Makima and smile lightly before continuing.

"Regarding the stages of practice, they are divided into [Awakening], [Inner Dream], [Outer Dream], and [Law], which is an extension of the [Outer Dream] stage.

As for the specifics, you'll receive them along with the information and seed of the Dream Path."

"Dream Path Seed?"

"Exactly as the name suggests, it's a prerequisite for even beginning to practice the path."

"Then, may I ask, how to get these seeds?"

"Hmmmm...About that."

Rubbing his chin, Lorien elongated his speech, deliberately creating a sense of suspense before responding.

"You'll need those!"

*Bzzz*

*Bzzz*

The instant this projection made its statement, an unbelievable surge of dream energy erupted from the center of the battlefield, where Lorien's true body was situated.

Then, as if glitching into reality, four colossal monuments resembling tombstones materialized at the borders of Lorien's domain, each positioned in a cardinal direction, namely: east, west, north, and south.

Each of these monuments was black in color, resembling obsidian, and etched upon their surfaces were intricate patterns and runes that coalesced to form a mystical symbol that seemed to continuously evolve and transform.

Doing so, Lorien then pointed towards one of the monuments and continued his speech.

"There are two ways to receive the Dream Path Seed: The first is to simply wait and hope for it, and you might receive it while the second is to come to this battlefield and stand within 18 kilometers of the monument.

Essentially, anyone who enters this battlefield will receive the Dream Path Seed as long as they meet the other requirements."

"Other requirements?"

"Haven't thought about it yet, but one thing I'm certain of is that those who are here for evil purposes won't gain anything, and I might simply slap them to death if they don't behave." Lorien remarked with a hint of menace in his tone before concluding his speech and effectively ending Kishibe's question spree.

"Alright, that's it for you!" Lorien declared, turning his attention to Makima and waiting for her to utilize her questioning opportunity.

Seeing this, Makima's eyes narrowed slightly as a small smirk graced her lips; It was evident that whatever question she had in mind was likely to be quite tricky.

"You said that you had a battle against the world's will, right?"

"And?"

"Well, I was wondering if the will of the world would allow your power system to spread."

Hearing this, even Lorien couldn't help but freeze for a moment, as he realized that even he didn't have a definite answer to this question.

After all, it was indeed possible for the world to attempt to block the propagation of the Dream Path.

However, despite considering this possibility, Lorien remained unfazed, bursting into laughter instead.

"So what if the world wants to prevent it?

Wanting to do something doesn't mean succeeding in it!"

Saying this, an aura brimming with majesty and indomitable will surged forth from Lorien's body as he declared.

"It doesn't matter!

For as long as I am here, there will always be a solution.

For even if the sky falls, even if it crumbles, I'll stand tall and face it all!"

"It doesn't matter!

While I'm here, there will always be a solution.

For even if the sky falls, even if it crumbles, I'll stand tall and face it all!"
