Chap 90: co-op

(Takichi's POV)

'Fuck...I can't believe she's here already.' Takichi thought, one of his eyes watching through a open crack in the fallen wall that's weighting down on him.

A red cape was all he could see; she was here sooner than he had expected. Tesuo is here and she doesn't seem to care much about anything other than getting to Akira. For a fight, Takichi asumed.

The world's hand shrugged and all of it came off him. Standing straight now, the injury is not that bad. He reaches into his inventory and brings some talismans out. He sticks them to himself, and the bleeding wounds all slowly start to heal. Both the damaged dealt outside and inside of his body.

'It's nice i have prepared these for myself.' Pre-made Talisman with minor healing capabilities; Takumi had these made in advance and stored in his inventory.

Curse energy can't heal, so he use it to enhance the his normal regeneration of his body.

Takichi was side-lined as the two psychics eyed their opposition. Air crackled as their minds collided in an intense struggle, shaking the foundation of the entire building.

The girl in a cape sneered at Akira. Whos eyes turn serious upon seeing seeing this girl. Both ignored everything around them, even when the roof and wall of this place collapsed and fell down. It did nothing with their sheer psychic might propelling everything away.

Tesuo's cape below out with Akira's gown as the two take to the sky, their figures shot straight up through the tons and tons of rock weight down.

And a third person shot out just right behind them. Following behind is Takichi, piloting a mech suit.

'System, I can just let them fight it out, right ? Won't i get the reward if Akira is dead ?' Asking the system with his thought, Takichi wonder the odds.

Currently, they seem to be fighting with each other rather than caring about an outsider like him. So unless he has to do the job himself, Takichi would gladly back down and just wait it out.

Takichi who sat in the pilot cabin, with two joystick along more panel filled with buttons for the control. They're flying over the city right now and soon would reach the outer edge of neo-Tokyo.

[Negative, user must finish the quest yourself or it will be considered a failure]

'Damn.' He flips some panels and hits a button; the model of the Knightmare frame he is using is a grunt unit. Nothing much, but some standard gear, like any Knightmare frame; he got some arm-mounted guns, a rife, and an additional air glide wing system, which allowed him to follow the two Psychic fighting each other across the sky right now.

Controlling his arm, he raised his rifle and fired at them. They missed, he let out a 'tch' at the clunky control of this thing.

Pressing on his left foot panel, the suit did a barrel roll to dodge some cars they threw at him. Switching his gear with a set of commands, the Mech changed from flying forward to flying backward as the two girls make chase at him.

Watching the monitor, he zoomed in. Akira was showing an annoyed expression, while Tesuo was quite angry. He dared to shoot her through some weak technology.

'Yes. Keep chasing me.' He keeps on shooting more cover fire to make them dodge.

Not to his shock when both girls use their telekinesis to freeze the bullet in mid-air. Not freeze as in hold but as in frozen by ice. He can see the frost on the bullet casing as they aim to throw it back at him.

Putting in command, his mech's wing folded, and he dropped to the ground. He spun his mech and deployed the landspinner, two sets of powered wheels attached to each heel of his Knightmare Frame's feet.

He hits the ground with sparks, but with the mobility, Takichi quickly skates from them. Opening a hatch from the back, missiles flew out in a barrage, exploding in front of Akira and Tesuo's faces.

"Great, come on. Don't you want to get me ?" He taunted, his voice booming through the external speakers.

The missiles were a one-time use, but it wasn't for killing them. He had no hope that it would work. Only to argo one of them, screaming through the smoke left by the attack.

Tesuo let out an anger-filled scream as she descended upon him with lightning speed. Inside his cabin, Takkichi smirked.

"Now, me." A gate appears right above his mech.

Too blinded by rage, Tesuo didn’t notice Takune’s outstretched hand until it was too late. His psychic punch landed with crushing force, hurling her to the ground with a powerful shockwave.

It was his plan to lure them long enough so he could use the new [multi mode] of his system to bring his other him here.

"Typical." Takune joked, "they fell for the easiest trick."

"Careful, me." Takichi reminded himself, "don't be too cocky."

"Oh, shut it. We are just talking to ourselves anyway." Takune flew into the air to meet Akira head-on. Heart, burning with psychic excitement.

Takichi had his rifle aim at Tesuo and fire again; their job was simple. Divide and conquer, Takune is to face Akira and Takichi would stall with Tesuo.

Without much thinking, he pressed the trigger. Lighting up the street with muzzle flashes from his giant gun.

The night is filled with chaos as people are running away from the focus destruction. Shells the size of a human fell in continuously as he just didn't let her have a chance to even counter.

Checking his weaponry, he only had a couple of mags before he ran out of ammo for the rifle. Angrily, Tesuo yelled in vain. The bullets didn't damage her one but from the field of psychic energy she put up but it sure did hurt when it hit.

For all the power she possesses, she isn't one to think. Just thrash around with it, and that is exactly what Takichi uses to exploit her.

Had she had half a brain cell, she would have thought of a way to get rid of his weapons. Not that it would work, but that just goes to show how he is different from her.

*click* an empty sound of his gun chamber, Tesuo perks her head up. She had a smile on, but it quickly washed off her face when Takichi dropped the rifle and changed to his arm cannon.

*crash* *BOOOM!* *BOOOM!*

More explosions light up the streets.

While this was going on, Takune and Akira were standing in the air above the city lights.

Boulder hurling at each other, along with anything they can use. Cars, bus, pieces of a building they ripped off.

*Boom!*

Multiple explosion happens continuously in a twisting curve, connecting in his attempt to chase her.

Returning through a hand wave, air gushed to put him down. That didn't work, so she moved them differently. They circle like a tornado and try to strangle him, holding him in the center.

Takune eyes turned red, and in the next moment, all the air had a green glow to it.

"Henshin." He said, transforming. The wind not listening to her anymore.

Akira's eyes widen, clearly not understanding what she is seeing.

'You're fun. Why can't i get into your head.' A voice spoke directly into him.

"Dunno, maybe I'm just more powerful than you now." He ran, feet kicking the air like they were roads for his enhanced body.

That was a bold lie, but judging by his telekinesis alone. Takune could not come close to killing her, and his use of telekinesis is limited. That is why Takune has the idea of using it on himself.

Each steps he take is rocket propelled upward by his own mind, every gust of wind that passed through his footsteps had a green tint that carried it upward toward the floating woman.

'That's so,' She til her neck to the side and with a chilling smile. 'Be sure to entertain me then.'

Orbs only he could see, made out of psychic power, flew at him and exploded mid-air, creating shock waves.

Takune head appeared out of the explosion, fist slamming into her. Metal hand punching into an invisible barrier, his fist didn't stop. Takune grunted as an left and right hook come after it, then a uppercut.

The invisible barrier stand, shining a translucent color inches from akira skin.

He punch again, double palm bringing down her head. It didn't hurt her but the height they're at was dropping.

He continue and they came crashing lower until he sent her from the top of one building all the way down to the ground, with each punch putting her through one of the floors.

She didn't flinch, only smiled. They were at the ground floor now, his fist lands on her field, still making no damaged. She effortlessly lifts him up fully.

'I might not be able to read you, but breaking you..' gas and electricity escape from a gap in his steel skin, and his green armor groans as part bends away.

"It'll be so much easier." She slowly moved a finger with his body being suspended in the air, pulled from all sides. "any last word?" She asked.

"Yeah, Rider Crash!" Out of nowhere, a bike slams at Akira's side. Wheels screeched, and fire burst out of its six exhaust pipes.

Akira got tackled as its front wheels rolled over her face. In a panic, she tries to use psychic power and lift it up in a struggle. Under his control, the Cyclone refuses to stop as it uses its thruster to push harder, making her forgo her hold on him.

Dropping to one knee, he propels himself at her. Telekinesis force around his fist like a boxing glove. Palms closing tight as his fist flew in front of him, green energy swirled in a vortex. All combining, in two words.

"Rider Punch!!" His glow is brighter as he gets closer.

*flip* his bike was flip off, she smile and change its direction at him. But soon the bike flew and vanish back to his inventory.

The panic woman releases a spherical shock wave, clashing with his fist. The air and wind did not go against him; when he met it, they let him through with no resistance at all.

He meets her gaze, one full of surprise at his power. She must realized it too, There is no way she can dodge or stop Takune before he makes contact.

But that doesn't stop her from trying, a wall forming from energy glowing. To the naked eye, no one can see it except for the ones with Psychic powers.

Layer upon layer, stacking atop one another to make it thicker, she makes the psychic wall as dense as possible. Cramping the very air into her shield, but that's where she is wrong.

The air, the wind, they're with him. And all the energy she used, was gone into waste as his fist struck her face. Sending ripples across the room, he immediately coughs after seeing Akira's body slammed through the walls.

Wiping at his nose, it was blood. He suddenly realized his helmet was cracked at one corner.

'She must tried to pop my head like a ballon.' He smiles on the inside. It's a good thing knowing his cyber enhancement also makes him harder to break by psychic energy.

A moment later, Takichi came in, using a hole made when Takune was struggling. There was no need for useless conversation; he saw what happened to Tesuo.

He ran out of ammo, but the crazy girl's anger did not run out. It got worse, extending to everyone and everything around her. So he did the only thing he could: he rushed in and body-slammed her to the ground. He put her in a bear hug as he set his mech suit to self-destruct.

She kicks and thrashs around, her field of Psychic energy on display. But he wasn't about to die with her. At the last moment, he ejects out of his mech back. His seat flew through the air, and a loud boom went off.

"Well, glad it is over."

"Yeah, i'm going to take a long nap after this."

His hands motion to made the gate appear and he was about to leave, but something felt.....off. Then it clicks; why isn't he getting any notification for the quest?

'Shit.'
