""We're sorry!""
Geto and Gojo, both dropped to their knees. They were on all fours, bowing so deeply, their foreheads pressed against the polished wood, performing a perfect dogeza.
"Have you realized your mistake?"
""Yes!"" A perfect answer that came at the same time.
"Really?" Takumi was skeptical at best and at worst, he was still planning on distancing himself from them.
"We realized that fighting among friends is a bad thing." Geto mouth quickly said. Shooting Gojo a look.
"And, it was dumb and immature for us ?" The blond said with full confidence. "Oh! And we totally made up, shook hands, everything is clear now, right sensei?"
*Thwack*
"Ow!" Gojo yelped, "what was that for? I said I was sorry!"
"No one smiles as they apologize, plus, I just really hate seeing your ugly face."
"You can't use that as an excuse?"
"Just did." *Thwack!*
"Ow, ow! Ow! Okay, okay, please. Not the face, not the face." Gojo was on the floor again.
"Do you know what Yaga did to my salary? I'm broke now."
The room fell silent. A clan leader, broke? The very idea was absurd. Neither of them could picture a world where Satoru Gojo's family lacked money, let alone their teacher. They exchanged a brief glance, both wondering if this was some kind of joke.
It wasn't. Their teacher's exhausted expression suggested otherwise. They notice he kept looking at the same spot all this time.
"Geto, you're grounded. No going out for the next month." Geto's shoulders stiffened for a fraction of a second. The punishment was annoying, but not unexpected. She lowered her gaze and accepted it in silence, offering neither complaint nor excuse.
"And for you..." His eyes locked onto Gojo's. The weight of his stare made her sit up straighter.
"Your mom called."
"What?" Gojo's head snapped up so fast it nearly hurt. Disbelief flashed across her face. A punishment? Sure. Detention? Extra missions? She'd expected all of that. But this? Her stomach suddenly felt much heavier.
"Yeah. She wants you out of the school and back to the clan."
The color drained from Gojo's face. For a moment, she simply stared. The words refused to register. Back to the clan?
No.
No, no, no.
"Am... am I expelled from school?" Her voice came out smaller than intended, wavering slightly at the end. The confidence she usually carried so effortlessly was nowhere to be found.
"Dunno. That stunt of yours caused quite the stir, so the principal and I are having a discussion."
Every word felt like another stone sinking into her chest.
Gojo clenched her fists in her lap. Her heart pounded louder and louder as a dozen horrible possibilities raced through her mind.
"Please..." She looked down for a moment before forcing herself to meet his eyes again. "I don't want to leave."
The plea escaped her almost as a whisper.
For the first time since she'd arrived, genuine fear showed on her face.
Not fear of punishment.
Not fear of getting hurt.
Fear of losing the one person who made her feel like freedom.
"We'll see." Takumi said with a sense of finality. "Go back to your room."
It's nighttime now, Gojo huddles in her bed, blanket wrapped over her head. Pillow on her lap, there was no light in the room at all. Gojo was sulking in full darkness.
Her mind plays back the event this morning, she can't get rid of it. The tears won't stop, her world was collapsing, she almost lost her friend, her teacher and now they're about to be ripped from her again.
*knock*
"Gojo?" Her head shot up. "Takumi Sensei?"
Gojo flew to the door, ignoring any sense of self as she opened to greet him.
"Hey. Whoa!" Takumi was pulled inside, back on the bed, face at the ceiling.
She jumped on him, arms and legs tight around his body. Her head was deep in his chest, the scent he gave off was the only thing that could relax her pain.
"I want to be happy." She cries. Voice so small, plus being muffled by being in his chest made it impossible to hear unless you have extremely good senses.
"I want you, you are my happiness. My everything, my world, my...." she spoke between sobs. "I don't know what I'll do without you."
"Just let it all out." His hand on her head, a comfort she so desperately needs.
Takumi just lay there, quietly listening to Gojo's emotions spilling out. He gently brushes her hair, soothing the girl.
"I love you. Sensei knows it, right?"
"I do." Takumi tries to be a responsible adult. "But I'm not your man. Even if I agree with you, my wife won't."
"So....you're saying that if I can find a "you" that is not married, you'll accept me ?" Gojo not crying anymore, her tears have dried.
"That's a weird way to put it. But sure."
"Just to be sure, you, a married man, have no intention of dating me, right ?"
Takumi caught her lips tugging down, a tiny "tch" can be heard. Her eyes lock onto him.
And then it hit him, the invisible force hits him like Mahoraga, his head slammed against the pillow.
His arm flew up, chains appeared, and he was held there with a strength more than the young girl could muster alone.
Alone?
A single thought came to mind, Takumi can't move, can't struggle, he can't even scream.
"Took your sweet time." A wanton voice, Takumi's neck can't move, but hearing it, he knew who it was.
"Got him though, didn't I?"
Gojo was now sitting on his chest, she moved just a bit so the new guest could join.
Geto and Gojo, Gojo and Geto. The inseparable girl duo. They were facing him, smiling in their twisted ways.
""So."" Gojo and Geto both said.
They held each other's hands, fingers interlocking, chest and cheek pressed slightly as they faced him.
""Will you accept us now, Sensei?""
""We know."" Still locking fingers, the girls said with conviction. Their joined hand moved to his face.
"This morning, that was all an act?"
"No." Gojo said, "All real, Geto said it has to be so you'll come."
"Guess what?"
"You did."
The girls let out giggles that echoed in the room.
