Chap 176: To Yan or not to Yan.
"Yo." Geto said.
"Yo." Gojo replied.
At first, none of them said anything, too shy of what happened to start the conversation.
They're currently in the infirmary. The two were completely tired, their Sensei were nice enough to patch them up.
"Can I have a seat?"
"I don't know, can you?"
"Why do you have to be such a stuck-up, I'm the victim here."
"Oh, let me guess, the various beatings, the blast to my pretty face or maybe even the stolen kiss ? Honestly, too much to count."
Exasperated, they went back and forth, coming up with all sorts of excuses and reasoning. Fighting for all kinds of topics, who was the stronger one, who got more hits off each other, and so on and so forth. till there was nothing left to fight over anymore.
"Was it real this time?" Gojo already knew what she was referring to.
"Yup, for real." She pointed to her bandaged eyes, smiling. "Got me good, you really aim for my head."
"*Tch* don't talk like you're a saint, half my upper right side is mutilated, you know?" Geto put down her crutch and sat next to Gojo on the bed. "Can't even scratch my vag properly now."
"But I really am tho, be serious, if I lock in fr fr, you be dead, like no cap bruh." nodding to herself, Gojo still claim she was the stronger one.
"I fucking hate the way you talk sometimes."
"Same gang~" 〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜
A strained laugh escaped Gojo and Geto's mouths. They act as if there were no longer any air of animosity between them. Both were in gowns, being wrapped from head to toe, looking like mummies.
Gojo had most of her eyes covered, both legs were broken, and a roughened right hand.
"So...." Gojo scratches behind her ear, "Are we cool......?" She dragged the word out, unsure if that's the right thing to say.
Geto got it worse, her entire right arm and right leg were in a cast, not to mention all the internal injuries.
They would've healed fully if Takumi had decided he wanted to, but this is a necessary punishment to make them calm down for a while.
"Are we "cool" as in back as friends again?" Geto paused. "Or are we "cool" as in giving up on chasing Sensei's feeling?"
"Definitely the first one."
"I don't know, it's pretty hard to be friends again with someone who tries to beat you up."
"Yeeeeeahhhh." "But you know what they say about beating each other off."
"Gross."
"I meant the other kind."
"Truce ?" She held out a hand. "Truce."
Both shook hands awkwardly for a minute, "speaking of which, after this, I bet none of us are getting any care from him now." Geto let out a self-deprecatory laugh.
"I, wouldn't, be so sure."
"What do you mean?"
"Who did you last see, before going out?"
Geto was a little confused, she gave no thought to it and just said it bluntly. "Takumi-Sensei, obviously."
"Why you ask, you're not going to be that jealous again, are you ?" Geto slowly backed away.
"Yeah, well, I would if the person picked me wasn't also Takumi-Sensei."
"Wha?" No way, Geto shakes her head. "You must be seeing things."
"I swear, I'm not delulu. With my own eyes, I saw two of him." The blond was dead serious from her tone, if it weren't so hard to tell by the three fingers Gojo held up. "Like, think about it, even if there is no chance he can do that, then how can he keep the barrier and come get you at the same time?"
"Think Geto, Think!" She had both hands dramaticly press on either side of her head.
"Now that I'm recalling back on it." It was the day when all three of them started their separate training.
Geto and Gojo's minds worked on the dots, it was subtle, how he always has free time, how he appears just when they need, the schedule just doesn't add up.
How can one man exist in multiple places ? all at once ?
The girls' minds seemed to communicate without the need for spoken language, their thoughts flowing silently from one to another.
No words were exchanged, no glances were necessary, they shared the same thought at the exact same moment, each instinctively grasping what the other meant without needing clarification.
--------------
"Stop! Stop! Just stop!" Takumi yelled, kneeling in front of his mom.
"Now sugar, calm yer britches." The Goddess of Luck waved a hand dismissively. "Consider this here both yer reward an' yer punishment."
"I... yes, Mom."
"Them poor gals deserved somethin' after all that emotional whiplash ya put 'em through."
Defeated, Takumi had nothing left to say, so he silently watched his mother's game.
"That's my boy."
"But what if more decide to join? I can't possibly take them all in."
"Hmmm..." The lady pondered, tappin' her chin as she was dealt a hand of cards at the poker table. "Reckon yer right 'bout that. Ain't no way one fella can handle every gal in creation."
"Exactly."
"But..." Her eyes sparkled mischievously. "I reckon it's mighty unlikely fer ya to change them ladies' minds 'bout ya."
"Unless?" Takumi leaned in.
"Unless..." She glanced at him over her cards.
He waited painfully long for the answer.
On the table was a set of straight flush: 6♤, 7♤, 8♤, 9♤, 10♤
Two pairs: 9♧, 9♡, 8◇, 8♧, Q♤
High card: A◇, J♧, 5♤, 4♧, 2♡
Full house: A♤, A♡, A♧, K◇, K♤
"Yer han't to be a god yerself?" She opened her hand.
A royal straight flush: A♡, K♡, Q♡, J♡, 10♡
Winning the game easily with the highest set.
"But that's—"
"No ifs, ands, or buts, young man." She pointed a finger at him. "Git on home, love on yer wife, an' either sort them girls out or one day they're liable ta hogtie ya an' drag ya off."
"Mom!"
"Oh hush now, ya know I'm right." Then she snapped her fingers. "Also got a quest fer ya. Byeeeee!"
A giant slot machine fell on his head, teleporting the man back to his universe.
"Ouch! Man, every time that place gets weirder and weirder." Checking his screen again, Takumi cover his face in absolute horror and cries.
