Chao 163: Jujutsu high christmas

*fuuuu*

Sugure let out a warm breath to the air, despite the chilling December air, she still had a smile on her face.

The festival is when everything she likes appears: the snow, the gifts, the hot drinks, and sometimes, hot men.

Such was the occasion for her and her class. Geto and her friend all in argee that they love christmas.

Well, except for one girl.

"What's..... Christmas?" Gojo asks innocently.

"Ha ha, very funny, miss, I'm too important for Christmas." Hoko mocked a fake laugh at the white-haired teens who didn't do anything but gave him a confused look.

"No, seriously, what are you two talking about?" Instead, her response was an even more perplexed look and a raised eyebrow.

"C'on girl, you can stop pretending, we're got to prepare for the christmas day." She jests, smiling, but there isn't a lick of humor on Gojo's face.

It took her a second to realize it.

"Like....the trees, the present, red wrapping, Santa ?" Geto said, explaining to Gojo like it was the most obvious thing ever.

Gojo's reaction was, for the lack of any better words. Dull.

"You do know what Christmas is ? Right ?" In response to Geto's question. Gojo only gives a simple shrug.

"Never heard of it." Spoken in a nonchalant tone, hands in her pocket, Geto can tell very well when she's faking it.

"I already get what I want anytime I want, soooo, gifts aren't that special to me."

Geto and Hoko both share a look, none of them were smiling anymore.

""Okay, we're having a big problem.""

Geto and Hoko's eyes, now filled with determination, pointed at Gojo at the same time.

""This year is the first year you'll expirience christmas, and we are going to make it your best holiday day ever!""

--------------

The date was the 20th, Takumi was rudely called to work, because sorcerers don't get a vacation, it seemed.

'Damn those old farts. Bringing me to work during the holidays.' Yawning, Takumi was stepping to his office when a pair of hands shot out and grabbed him.

"Sensei, we need help." They didn't need much convincing, tricking Takumi into going to school is a crime he can punish later.

Now, helping Gojo is the main task.

Coming from someone who had celebrated every christmas when he was in high school. Takumi had the two go buy decorations with Gojo while he set up the dorm and the invitation.

-------------

Before this day, Gojo had never gone to buy a gift; she had never bought anything for anyone in general. She made the demand and her servants would take care of the rest.

She didn't get it at all. Not the lights, the colorful box, the lady in red riding the sleigh.

She followed Geto and Hoko regardless, because it was the first time someone was trying so hard. The first time she had people who brought the person inside her warmth.

A smile cracked through her lips, seeing so many people in the dorm. Quite marveled, she was at this gathering.

-----------

The room was decorated with lights. There were Christmas cookies and little gifts for everyone under the tree, Takumi, and whom she assumed was his wife, busy with.

Takumi stands on top of a stool, his hand has a bunch of glowing orbs hanging, and a string of tiny lights strewn around the trees. The woman holds a box of ornaments below him.

"Is that..."

"Oh, yeah, I called Sensei in, and he called everyone else."

In one corner were the two principal Yaga and Yakuganji, those old coots were wearing red caps next to the fireplace. Mei Mei and Kusakabe were sitting on the bench chatting.

Her six eyes caught a glimpse of kids outside the window throwing snowballs.

She wasn't fond of the faculty members, but even some students are here. Gojo can't imagine half the people here showing up in one place, not to mention of their happy expression.

Throughout it all, Geto kept a warm smile, looking at her.

"Hey, you too finally made it." Hoko said, going closer to the duo. He had a red and green scarf around his neck.

"Hi there, shawty. Oh, wait, I think you might get mistaken for a runaway elf. Careful, or Miss Santa is going to capture you." Geto joked.

"Said the oversized elf, " I think she might bring you back more than me." He turns to Gojo, "so?"

"It's.....this is," Gojo had a hard time trying to find words to describe her feelings right now.

"Just enjoy it. Be happy, this was all thanks to our great teacher. The high council was pissed to hear us throwing a party."

"Does that mean my clan-"

"Nah, they know nothing, and even if they do, think that's gonna change anything?" Geto said.

Gojo eyes down to her wrapped cardboard box, the smooth red wrapping, the green sparkling ribbon tying it all together.

"Not one bit." Her smile is wide from cheek to cheek as she joins her friends.

----------

"Hey, Mako that's cheating." The blonde Zennin said.

"Critizing someone for using their technique while you are doing the same thing is a really hypocritical move. Naoya." Megumi said, the girl was riding on her sleigh, pulled by her wolf Shikigami.

Zennin kids aren't allowed to have fun, the old traditional way is to train. To the Zennin, there is no holiday; Megumi thinks it is stupid.

So she invited all the kids she knows at the compound, only three showed up.

Naoya and twin boys.

"Yeah, but it doesn't count when they were boys." She said, her cocky tone is still there.

Her last beating did not get rid of that arrogant attitude at all, just shifted it a little. Now she is no longer a misogynist, just slightly racist.

Using her curse technique, she had about a dozen snowballs in her hand. Spinning her arm around, snowballs in her arm flew out like a machine gun.

To their defense, the Zennin twins got an entire fort made from snow.

The older twin, Megumi, thinks he had short hair and a thick sweater as she came out of her hiding spot to counterattack.

"Eat this you hair dye bum." Mako winds up and throws one hit so fast that Naoya almost gets hit in the face.

Bullets of snow were tossing back and forth from both sides. And even through the looks of this current warfare, no one was actually angry, they were laughing, enjoying this holiday atmosphere.

"Darn, I'm out of ammo. Mao, hit me some more." The Tomgirl said to his twin. For them, this is the best time they spent together with other kids their age.

Megumi was close enough to connect and become their friend, somewhat. They don't like girls all that much, but they were friendly so she can talk with.

------

"Time to open the gift, everyone." Right on midnight.

Yaga thought she received a normal butter cookie tin box, only to realize it was a sewing kit upon opening it.

"I got an electric guitar?" Shinobu was stunned to hold a modern musical instrument in hand.

"Sensei, thanks for the free axe." Mei Mei, he appreciated the gift as long as it was free, as in character.

"Wow." Kusakabe got a coat and a new car, courtesy of Mei Mei.

Takumi is unbothered; he was too busy having his lips taken under the mistletoe with his wife. Hoko and Geto cringe heavily watching the scene.

"What chu got there?" Geto brought out a brand new pair of Air Force.

"I got new jays, what'bout you ?"

"Eh, a new pants, sense really got his fashion sense in a wack." The two then face Gojo. Who still hadn't opened her gift yet.

"Come on." Geto and Hoko both urge Gojo, her gift in hand.

Inside the box was a brand new.

"Sweater ?" It was crudely made, nope, crude doesn't explain how ugly the thing was made. Someone intentionally tries to make it using just chopsticks and a dagger.

"Yeah, see. That's me," Geto pointed to one of the figures poorly sewn into the right side of this horrible piece of fashion design.

"And that's me." Hoko pointed to the figure on the left.

"So I can assume, I am in the middle."

"Damn right!" "It looked just like you."

"So, do you like it?" Geto was the one to speak first. "We tried, but making a sweater is actually too difficult to learn in 6 hours.

Gojo could only laugh out loud. She didn't want anyone to see her other than anything else. It was so difficult to keep her composure, she couldn't hold back the tears flowing through the indoor shade.

For a second, the two didn't know what they had done wrong to have her crying. Hoko was about to pinch Geto when Takumi whispered to them.

'Tears of joy.' That they collectively escape the shock and fear of ruining their best friend's first Christmas.

Her six eyes were overwhelmed with tears, streaking across her cheek. Sugure wrapped her arms around Satori, pulling her impossibly closer to Hoko, he and Sugure let their arms fall around Satori’s neck.

"Everyone, gather around, we're having a group photo."

Everyone takes a seat in front of the fireplace, and the trio takes their spot in the middle.

"On three, everyone say "merry Christmas" kay. "

"One....two....three!"

"Merry Christmas." The sound of cheering filled the room.

With everyone smiling happily, close together. On this christmas eve.
