Chap 161: Takumi network
(Toru no index world)
Three Takumi, travel through the cityscape of Academy City. Eyes wandering with each body taking a separate direction.
"Ah, there they are." Takumi said, walking up to a trio of brown-haired boys wearing heavy-duty military goggles, all of whom looked extremely alike.
So much so that if someone with no knowledge about them might just assume them to be triplet brothers.
"Hello there, may I ask, what number of Misaka are you ?" He asks, rushing to the trio.
“This unit is designated Misaka 10046. Misaka states his serial number while pointing at himself for clarity.” He said. Followed by the other two.
“This unit is designated Misaka 13577.”
“This unit is designated Misaka 9982.”
""“We are members of the Sisters network.”"" they said in unison.
"Thanks, imma need you to help me with something." Takumi had a needle gun pull out.
The misaka showed little facial reaction to his sudden move, but his eyes did go to track Takumi's hand.
"D̴̢̜̤̭̜͍̅͒͊̃͊̐͛̾͌͊͊̆̕̕͜o̴̯̫̳̬̩̠͙͈̭͕͔̱̯̒̄̅͆̾͆̈͑́̉̕͜͝n̶͚̹͚͇̽͜ͅ'̵̤̯͓́͊͝t̴̞̓̅͗͋̏̅̒̋̚ ̵̨̨̘̰̦̙̀̈́̉̀͑̍̊̉͊͆͝͝m̵͓̜͒̋̐͑̓̎̋̀͘o̴̢̯̱͙̼͖̤͕̲̹̱͈͋v̵̡̦͚̖̯͍̹̳͉͒̀̇͗̾̀e̵̡͇̜͚̫͓͖̜̙̫͍̼̱̅̇̇̈̑͒̿͋̀͛̂̈́̕͘͝ͅ."
"Sorry, I just need some blood sample." Sticking the needle in, he draws out a full vial then takes off.
Simultaneously, the other Takumi are doing the same thing, going over the city and collecting data from various Misaka clones.
'If my calculations are correct, then the last one should be here.' Takumi came to a stop, not far from where he is, is his final target.
A small shota version of Misaka. He sat peacefully in a dinner, with no one around except for another girl with black hair.
'Hmmm, accelerator isn't in sight, this is my chance.' Takumi hummed to himself, walking casually, faking not paying attention to the boy as he entered the diner.
[Time stop]
'Thirty seconds to go.' Not wasting any of the precious time he got. Takumi went sprinting to Misaka.
The whole process of extracting his blood and brain scans took only a couple seconds off his freeze time clock.
'Done.' And with more than enough spare time on hand.
"Ouch, Misaka yelled in pain as he felt something pricking his arm."
Takumi makes his exit without any interruption; he isn't staying for any second longer, intending to leave instantly.
Back inside his lair, rows of conveyor belts were constructed, and on them were puppets. Not ordinary one.
Custom-made, using parts he took, many from other worlds. His extensive research has taken him to a more proficient way to gain more power.
Constructed by hand and grown by time, they lay inside a human-sized test tube where each of his bodies was kept, floating inside green liquid that preserved them.
He needs another alternative, so this is what he came up with.
"And I'm the mad one." Senjaku snickered. Her hand picked on one of the puppet's head.
The design is uncanny like of Takumi's own face, each and every one of them. All crafted to be a replica of Takumi, from their anatomy down to their brain, scanned and made to be just like him.
"Hey, don't touch my face. It was very hard to make."
Cloning was a very slow and laborious process, but when he has super healing, he can leave the slow part behind and churn out many more copies of himself. Which just left the laborious part.
"Sorry, sorry, can't help it."
"Anyway, this will have to do for now. And you are the only person with qualified skills to help me." He motioned her to follow, they come to one lone chair. Where there is already one puppet tightly secured on it.
Connecting to its body wasn't just wire and machinery, a computer, but scrolls, talismans, charms that function as a ritual as well. Two circle drawn on the ground, one was under the puppet that ran to an empty second spot for the real him.
"Test number one, ready, getting into the circle." He said. Stationing himself into meditate stance in the circle.
His curse energy began to run through the circle, fueling the ceremony that was about to take place. While electricity courses through the wire, running into the puppet's body, shaking it slightly.
Next, Senjaku station herself at a distance, she began to chant, the room sparks with purple and green hue.
Pumping into the empty body, no, an empty vessel. From Takumi to the clone. Moving his consciousness to another, no more like widening it.
The sparks keep rising in intensity, with each cackle of purple lighting, both Takumi's main vessel and the vessel convulsed.
Then, at the height of it all, the lighting exploded in a wide otherworldly shine. The shine moved from Takumi's main body to the motionless clone.
The lights went out, and everything plunged into quiet darkness.
For a short second, then the light of his base flickers on again as the backup power kicks in.
Senjaku, checked the monitor connecting to the clone. It showed normal vitals, along with Takumi's main body, who was now rising to his feet.
"Well, did it work?" She asked in a manner of mild curiosity and wonder at the man.
"Yeah," he spoke, but not Takumi, not himself anyway. "I gotta say, to finish this in eleven months is crazy work to do."
It was crazy, to attempt at making something which cannot exist his own world. The main contribution to his success, besides himself, can be attributed to his technique. One of the first he got.
The cloning technique, the thing had reached its full potential long ago, and he can't upgrade a technique no matter how hard he tried.
But combine that with, [puppet manipulation] and [puppet creation], through his [esper] for psychic connection. He uses them as the basis in tandem with the data gathered on the Misaka network. Takumi has successfully created a hive mind for him and his clone to work.
All of 'him' are connected, all these bodies, traveling every world he wants, all the more powers he can get, simply while the real Takumi stayed in this one world.
"My visual are fine." He said, looking around, holding his hand in the air, he wanted to use his technique, but it seemed not to respond to him.
"Hmm......is it just my mind is connected and not my powers? This could cause future problems." This could be fixed, but his main goal was completed.
Just like the Misaka network, his hive is the same, if not, better.
With the main Takumi acting as the anchor, he can have as many clones as he wants.
"Now." There should be only one thing left to check. 'System.'
A blue screen appears in front of the clone's eyes. While he, the main body can see it from his own spot.
"I know this is a big important step for you." A voice interrupts. "I hope you don't forget, now you owe me." Senjaku said with a gleeful smile.
"Later. I'll come to your place."
