Side story Dríade

It took five days for the Dryad to grow herself a new body. Everyone always thought they were creatures that could just pop out another clone at random as if it were nothing more than a fingernail. Of course creating all the intrinsic pathways that allowed movement and not to mention the actual flesh itself was a time consuming process. And resource intensive.

And after Voras's delightful reunion Dríade did need to create a new one. This one was a lot more durable and came with a few bone blades around her wrist in case she was ever wrapped up again in the Arachnids silk.

Her wings stayed the same. She liked the colour and the antenna gave her another sense to track everything with. But like her previous one there were no pain receptors. They were a hassle and didn't offer anything of actual value.

The cocoon split as her new body emerged from within the root cluster of her tree, still wet with birthing fluids.

Dríade gave all her limbs a quick shake to make sure she had everything correct. A single muscle in the wrong place could be annoying but with the body already created there was very little she could do to fix it quickly.

Luckily nothing was wrong and with a thought the birthing cocoon was split from her tree to be consumed for nutrients. Not that it was really needed as the room she was in was absolutely rich with everything she could ever need, and safe.

She had double and triple checked every day while her body had been growing to make sure only she could access this room. With no one being able to enter and her able to send her body out at will while leaving her tree behind she was effectively protected from everything. The only thing that could threaten that was Clovek.

Though not in a physical way. He could sell her to someone else. That was her only weakness as she would be ejected from the room once she was no longer his.

To make sure he wouldn't all she had to do was be a good little delivery girl, then her safety was secured.

Dríade didn't believe that. Even though she hadn't had a choice when she became his. Her tree being forced to leave the farms boundary with those after her still coming. It would have been a death sentence if she was lucky.

But Voras... That girl had been stoic about her stance on Deed owners. Why had she changed?

With little left to do the Dryad left her room and ventured out of the house and into the sun. It was nice against her face even though a fake one existed in her room, nothing beat the real thing. The warmth also helped her shrug off the liquid on her wings that was stopping her from flying, time would fix that but she needed something to do.

Tarakona the Dragon was easy to spot over by the lake with Zeldi and the human spraying her with some kind of magical ring. But Voras wasn't with them.

Dríade smiled. This would be a great opportunity to figure out if the bloody spider woman was being mind controled in some way without the others being present.

It was also not hard to find the Arachnid as her silk was everywhere. Thin strands were all across the ground in patterns that would allow Voras to know exactly where everyone was at any point in time if she was touching her web. Each strand was too small to actually see but Dríade felt each one as she stepped.

Voras herself had found a perch in a tree that was close to the boundary edge and tall enough she could see everything. She always liked to be above her prey.

"Yo Dancing Unicorn you going to let me up or are you going to sulk alone?"

Voras's head popped out of the leaves already having known the Dryad was coming. "That entirely depends on if you are going to be nice or if your tree forgot to remove the stick up your ass before making this body."

Dríade rolled her eyes. "This body has no asshole so it would be very hard to have something shoved up there. Though if that's your kink I don't want to shame you, unless shaming is your kink because if that's the case. You dirty little hoe."

Voras chuckled slightly and let down a seat just big enough for Dríade to sit on. "I've missed your lack of a filter sometimes."

The Dryad hopped onto the makeshift elevator and was deposited in the small alcove Voras had made in the trees branches.

"Cosy. Don't you have your own room though? Why not nest in there?"

Voras's answer was to manipulate a few threads that pulled the branches just enough to the side that she could see out across the stream. Coincidentally it was exactly where Clovek, Zeldi and Tarakona were bathing.

"Oh. You're spying on them then." There was no question in Dríade's sentence as she teased her friend.

"I'd deny it but I don't want to." Voras shrugged and made herself comfortable in the middle of the small nest. A few things were stuck to the ceiling with one of them being a looking glass that Dríade was sure got a lot of use.

"Not even going to try and make an excuse? I could just go and tell them you know." Dríade teased some more while poking Voras's abdomen.

"They wouldn't believe you if you did and it wouldn't matter. Tarakona can probably smell me from here so it would be useless to deny it." Voras manipulated another set of threads and a gap in the ceiling opened up to let in some sunlight. Just enough to cover Dríade's wings.

The Dryad instantly got what was unsaid as there were a few objects of specific design scattered but not hidden. Her nose confirmed it as well.

"Dam you are down bad for this guy. I thought you were being mind controled of something but this is full on obsessive." She picked up one of the phallic shaped objects. It was carved from wood and wrapped completely in silk.

Voras didn't say anything.

"Come on. Where's the Voras I know that kills people because they just thought about mistreating a Livestock? I didn't think she would ever be this tame."

Voras let out a chuckle. "So that's how you saw me. Can't say I didn't view you the same but explaining to you my change is easy. Look at them."

Dríade was handed the seeing glass and did as she was told. What she saw was Zeldi learning how to swim with Clovek while Tarakona watched over in case they needed help.

"Have you ever seen a Deed owner that wasn't a fellow Livestock do that?" Voras asked already knowing the answer.

Dríade growled. A sound deep in her own throat as she tried to find something wrong with what she was seeing.

"You can keep looking for as long as you want, you won't find anything." Voras continued already knowing Dríade's stance. "I've been trying to find something he does wrong and while he's not perfect he at least apologizes and tries to make amends when he does something wrong. Neither of those two are mind controled because if they were he wouldn't treat them like that."

"So what?" Dríade growled throwing the looking glass down. "So what if he's mister perfect? Why are you so obsessed?"

"Because I want that." Voras said simply. "I've always wanted that from the moment I knew what I was. And now that it's here I screwed up my introduction and for the life of me can't say to his face that I like him because I keep thinking he will be like every other Deed owner unless I'm in my nest."

Voras turned away from the window to look down at Dríade.

"We both killed Deed owners because we wanted a message to be sent out that those who mistreat Livestock will be killed in the hopes we would get exactly this." Her hand went to the gap. "But we have done it for so long now that we forgot the reason we did it in the first place."

"I didn't forget!" Dríade growled defensively.

"Yes you did." Voras calmly retorted. "Because if you hadn't you would've left already."

Dríade growled again.

"And if you truly did want to actually give him a chance your body would have a pussy." Voras added.

"What?! So I can sit around in a tree fingering myself in the vain hope he might come over and fuck me?" Dríade deflected.

Voras was right. She hadn't made this body or even her previous one with any type of genitalia. Tits were of course something she always liked to add because it gave her some feeling of femininity but anything extra was just that. Extra that she didn't need to bother with.

"Remind me again how Dryad's create children?" Voras asked with a sly smile.

Dríade didn't respond.

Her answer was unfortunate because Voras was right. She needed to create a  spermatheca in the body she was using so that when she mated she could bring her mates seed back to her tree. Then she could fertilize any seeds with the strongest sperm cells gathered.

"Here." Voras said throwing a very thin skirt that wouldn't even cover her ass at Dríade.

"What's this for?"

"Part of my quest." The Spider woman replied going back to watching the others.

Dríade inspected the cloth. It was something she would never wear.

"So you have been tamed them. The mighty Voras, brought down in her prime." The Dryad said throwing the silk thing behind her. "So do you have a plan then to actually get him because I doubt your tradition methods work."

Voras let out a slow sigh. "If I could actually get over myself then it would be as simple as spending time with them. It's what Zeldi has advised but I just can't."

Dríade scoffed. "So what's your plan B?"

Voras was silent for a second as she thought. Dríade already knew she had a plan so whatever delay was either her trying to find the words or deciding how much she should tell her, that she didn't know.

Eventually Voras spoke. "I wish to enact my old plan. The one where we join all the Deeds together and create a complete safe haven for Livestock to live as they wish."

"Noble, but doesn't quite help with your problem of getting him into your pants." Dríade remarked.

"No it won't, at least not instantly. But I believe if I can accomplish it Zeldi and Tarakona will see my devotion as you put it. I can't do things straight to his face and I know that but if I could do something like this? Maybe it could work."

"And if it doesn't?"

Voras shrugged. "He's the perfect candidate for the Big Deed. So regardless of if I'm accepted there will be a safe place for Livestock in the future... It's worth a try."

Dríade tried to glare at Voras but found herself agreeing with the Spider woman.

It had been their plan all those years ago. Why not give it a shot? If this human was worth it.
