Chapter 45. Plans

After that delightful conversation with Zeldi she invited me to see the remodeling she'd done to her room. All she had really done was move the bed into the corner so she could have the rest of the space to run around naked without anyone she didn't want seeing her. A fact she proved to me until I'd chased her down and tried to drag her to the bed. Fortunately she didn't get that far before we were both naked and having a quicky.

My little mare had then kicked me out with the excuse she wanted a nap. I'd taken the opportunity to check in on Tarakona but she was out as well. Though my dragon had filled part of her lair with snow and had buried herself in to sleep. How she was creating all this snow i didn't know, chalk it up to magic.

That had left me with not much to do. I should really have tried milking Zeldi again or just doing her back teats but again I was distracted way too easily.

Instead I checked on my quest to find it had been completed. This ment both girls had to be over fifty percent comfort, yay for getting their own personal space.

I accepted the reward expecting a magical wave of something to pulse over the land sprouting grass finally but nothing happened. It was almost dull. Don't get me wrong the fact that grass and other things could grow now was a huge boon but if magic was involved I was hoping it would be faster.

Nevertheless I could find other things to keep me busy.

Like my new quest for example.

Current quest: Feed the beast.

Reward: Temporary travel to the Underdark.

... What?

First off. Why the Underdark?

Second. Why is the quest suddenly none descript?

It use to give me a perfect explanation about what I had to do. Now it's just saying Feed the beast. Now I fully understand that it's just referring to Tarakona but still. Why not say 'Feed Tarakona?' That just seems easier.

Land are you doing this on purpose?

...Silence...

At least they line up with my own plans. If the quest was to do something else it would be a little harder but feeding my dragon was already on the to do list. Should have asked her what her new quest is now that I think about it. I also need to start working on Zeldi's even though her milk is far better to use on my shop at the moment.

Ah. Decisions. It would be a hell of a lot easier if I could somehow get Tilty to start producing her antlers. Another form of income would always be welcome.

Maybe I should go for a walk to town right now. I have two almost full bottles in my inventory, maybe I could start making a name for myself? Nah can't do that just yet. Need the upgrade to let Tarakona leave before I can start selling Zeldi's milk.

That just left me with nothing to do.

I couldn't farm basic stuff because that would require items to buy and I couldn't start on rebuilding the barn because the snake man wasn't here. Still should get his name.

At this point in my old world I'd doom scroll on my phone but that hadn't come with me and neither of the girls were available to do anything with. I was bored.

In a fantasy world and I was bored. I almost laughed at how absurd that was but it was correct. There was always a little downtime and without a TV or something similar to give me some brain rot I needed something to do.

I found myself looking over at Tilty's statue again as if that would help time go by quicker. That didn't work so instead I got off my ass and went for a walk. Didn't know where I was going just that I needed to do something other than sit around.

As I walked I started using the store as a form of doom scrolling, just looking at different things. It brought me to the page where I could buy people with Farm Points to do specific tasks.

They were helpers in a sense but not living at the same time. The closest comparison I could make was a robot or a homunculus. I couldn't fully create their appearance only choose from many preset's and they only did basic jobs.

Like this one for instance.

Helper: Gardening

Species: Fairy

Gender: Female

Capable of looking after 5 square meters of small yield farmland. Garden chest needed to function.

Price: 100 FP

That seemed helpful. The garden chest was a ten point item that acted like a games storage where the NPC's could put the items they'd collected. It had five inventory spaces and as expected there were better ones for more.

I had seen these before when I'd first arrived but they had been grayed out so if never bothered investing. Now though they were perfectly purchasable. Maybe the land finally becoming fertile had something to do with it.

Helper: Milking dairy

Species: Fawn

Gender: Female

Capable of milking 5 animals or 1 livestock within the bounds of your farm.

Price: 100 FP

Zeldi would kill me. For all the reasons but I would definitely get jealous of a robot getting to touch her that much.

I couldn't find one for Tarakona but that wasn't too big of a problem even though there was a few that could collect animals eggs.

Stopping just at the edge of my boundary I looked back over the empty land, the thought of filling it with mindless bodies did sound appealing especially if I could dress them as I wanted to. But I would definitely prefer having more livestock. There was just something more enjoyable about something living.

That being said there was no way I was ever going to force Zeldi to ever get down in the mud to work. She'd had enough of that life, and I was going to make sure she got pampered the way she deserves. Tarakona as well, while her life wasn't the same she still deserves the princess treatment. So long as she stops biting.

Helper: Maid

Species: Cat-kin

Gender: Female

Capable of keeping a four room house perfectly clean and cooking 2 meals a day.

Price: 300 FP

Now that would be a good purchase just to keep the main part of the house clean. And totally not because I want to see a cat girl in this world. Maybe I could find one that was a livestock? What would a cat girl even produce? And would a real cat girl be super interested in Zeldi's milk?

Future problems. I cannot get too picky about livestock if they are as rare as they say. Doesn't stop me hoping however.

I wonder if the helpers can...

No.

Ummmm. But I didn't even think anything.

Helper: Concubine

Species: Cat-kin

Gender: Female

Capable of accepting the lust of someone not jacked up on Centaur milk.

Price: 250 FP

This flashed in front of my vision. The fact it specifically mentioned 'jacked up on Centaur milk' told me the land had purposely rewritten the definition.

Okay so by that I take it I can't do anything like that with the non-concubine helpers?

...

Nothing.

"Come on land. At least try to hold a conversation with me." I called out.

No. You have livestock for that.

"But you could explain what you are a bit more. Help me find a way to help you out more." I offered as a way of mediation.

Keep completing the quests I give you then maybe we can see about letting you in on what I really am. Regardless, your continued existence and that of your livestock benefits me greatly. Go collect more.

And the mysteries keep on growing.

"How many more quests do I have to do before you tell me?" I spoke aloud as if it actually mattered.

Nothing else flashed across my vision. I think the land was done with me for now.

At least I had some direction in that regard. Only need to complete an undisclosed amount of quests to figure it out, and to find out what my purpose here really is because when I died I saw a lot more than I should have.

But if my part to play in all this was to be some kind of focus for the Ley line and the farm or whatever, then why is Zeldi also a part? What purpose would binding someone that wasn't the owner to the land if they weren't also doing something?

My musings led me back around the property to the lake. Not seeing a reason not to I stripped down and washed my pants in the water before placing them on the front porch to dry.

Both girls were still asleep so I left them alone and went for a skinny dip.

The water was still refreshingly cool as I practiced my freestyle going all the way to the other side and back before I felt tired. This body was great.

Staying on the edge of the lake I looked up at the clouds and just enjoyed the sun as it tried to give myself a tan. Didn't know if it was possible with the whole invincibility but who knows.
