Chapter 135. Sting a second time for good luck
Abelha came in fast. Her size was completely at odds with her speed as she closed the distance between us in a heartbeat.
I managed to get my guard up in time to stop her first strike by bringing my arms up as some kind of makeshift shield. The second one, however, went under and found my stomach. The air vacated my lungs without any remorse for the rest of my body, and I bent forward involuntarily.
Not giving me a second to recover, Abelha spun on her left leg, aiming the heel of her right foot at my temple. My only saving grace was sending a wave of healing magic into my chest to counter my lungs' cry for air and rising just enough that her heel connected with my shoulder instead.
With her slightly off balance, I tried to counter by slapping her abdomen to say I could have hit her. This didn't work as her stinger made itself known. She had enough control that she only grazed the skin of my hand, but the message was clear. She wasn't defenseless.
We separated by a few steps, and I sent another round of healing magic through my body. Madu had been right; Abelha hides some secrets in her curves, and I wasn't just referring to her stinger. Dam girl knew how to fight and not any of the back alley brawls I was used to.
"Si elle le tue, je la transformerai en pierre, qu'elle soit ou non un animal d'élevage." (If she kills him, I'm turning her to stone regardless of whether she's a livestock.)
"English, please." I playfully sent Madu's way just as Abelha struck again.
I watched her close the distance and noticed her wings moving so quickly I almost couldn't make them out. It explained how she was moving so easily if she was half-flying every time she struck.
"If she kills you, I'm killing her back." Madu translated.
I didn't respond as I had to block Abelha's left jab to my throat. She followed through with a right hook that was amplified by her moving her wings like she was dashing to the left. This one I took, trusting my healing as I preemptively sent a pulse through my body as I sent my own jab into her belly.
The result was me hitting the ground, whereas Abelha had absorbed my strike without flinching.
[Enough. I refuse to watch this anymore.]
I spat out the dirt it had taken with me as I got back up. "Hate to say, but I agree with Tarakona Abelha. While I would like to get better at hand-to-hand combat, this really isn't teaching me much."
The Queen Bee nodded at that while holding the spot where I managed to land my hit. "You at least know how to fight, but your skills in that department are a little lacking. May I ask, how is it you know the basics of your way around a fight? By the way you talk, I would have thought you some human highborn, but your skills are more with swords."
She came closer and touched my hand where her stinger had hit. "And you have magic. Just who are you?"
Tarakona had her face very close to us and was letting out a low growl. Close enough, I could feel the frost gathering on my exposed skin.
"Can I first ask you if you are willing to actually teach me? I meant what I said; I would like to be able to do more than hide behind the others." I asked her, removing her hand. While I couldn't deny she was beautiful, there were rules in place for me and the girls for my harem. Not worth a quick fuck if it meant losing what I already had.
[You will not need to, my love. Once you have the ability to change into our species, there will be no reason for you to know how to fight.]
Tarakona had a point there."Okay, now you have my attention. What do you mean by change into our species?" Madu asked as all of her snakes found me.I brought up my quest, completely forgetting if I had Dríade complete it already.
Current quest: Heal Madu and Tilty through skills or potions so that their productivity is as high as possible.Status: 2/2Accept: yes/noReward: Mental resistance to all Livestock and their Deed owner. (We are sorry)
Well, of course I was going to accept it.I mentally selected yes and waited for something to happen... Nothing did.
Well, that was anticlimactic. At least we all should have resistance to all mental attacks, and the Deeds won't be able to knock me on my ass as they had previously. Now for the grand reveal. What did I have to do to gain the ability to transform?
Current quest: Fix the drain on the Ley lineStatus: incomplete Reward: Transform into one of your bound Livestocks species for an hour. Requires one day between uses.
... I don't even know what that means. The Deeds have never mentioned anything was draining the Ley lines before this.
"Ooooooh Clovek? Don't think you can go all quiet on us after Tarakona revealed something like that." Madu poked my side, bringing me out of my menus.
"Sorry bout that, was just looking at my quest. But Tarakona's right; after I complete my next quest, I can turn into one of my bound Livestocks species for an hour each day." I said back before poking the Gorgon in the tit for startling me. Instead of shying away as I expected, Madu let out a moan that she made no effort to hide. Should have expected that.
"How would that work?" Voras seemed rather interested in that before trying to answer a question in her head. "I presume you would still be a male, right? Because if that's the case, what happens if you turn into an Arachnid? We are an all-female species."
"Or a Queen Bee," Abelha added, ignoring the fact she would have to be bound first.
[I would certainly hope you would stay a male, my love. Half of the reason I want you to transform again is to recreate our island date.]
"I think we are all in agreement about that, and the answer is. I don't know." I admitted rereading the reward again but getting no change. "That's all the reward says. I can ask the Deeds more about it when we get back, but anything I say now is speculation at best."
"J'aimerais voir à quoi il ressemble en Lamia." (I want to see what he looks like as a Lamia.)
[Madu. I don't even need you to translate that for me, but I'm saying no. He would have the gaze of your subspecies if he were to do that.]
Madu blew a raspberry that was mimicked by her snakes. "I want to complain, but I guess you're right. Fine then, I'll make do with seeing Clovek's Arachne form." There was a sinister smile visible under her hood that she couldn't hide. "Then I'll finally understand what Voras would look like with a dick."
"You all seem to act like this is normal." Abelha Tisked. "Is he some kind of powerful mage or something?"
[No, he is a Deed owner and, by extension, the owner of all us Livestock. From what we have all gathered, he is exactly what he is meant to be. The Deeds grant him power, and he uses that power to assist us; that in turn gives him more.]
Abelha gave me a side eye, still not believing it.
"Abelha, you will never fully trust him until you see that he isn't lying." Dríade came back into the conversation a lot more disheveled. "And if you are worried he will take advantage of you the moment you are his livestock, then put those worries to rest. There's enough wet pussy around waiting for him that he won't go looking at yours."
"You are incredibly crass, Dríade. Would it help for you to have a little bit of, I don't know, politeness in what you say? It would help a lot." I chastised only for the Dryad to flap her wings and take to the air to avoid another tail slap from Tarakona.
"To be fair, if she wasn't this rude, I would think you had some kind of mind-bending spell on her." Abelha snickered. "Then again, I might be able to change her attitude if I do decide to join."
I shrugged. "The choice will always be yours. I won't say that I don't want you because that would be lying, but I've also found that it's just so much easier if you actually want to stay." I said, hoping it sounded genuine, before realizing she was still wearing that truth ring. She would know if I was not telling the truth.
[We might need to shelve this conversation, my love, as I can now see Zeldi making her way back over.]
"You are right there, Tarakona." I agreed and gave her snout a kiss. My reward was a breath of frost that chilled me to the bone.Right now, temperature immunity when not on the farm.
"Abbbbbbelha." I tried to say while ignoring my chattering teeth. "Yoooou have tttthe ffffuuullll ddday."
Voras thankfully saw my dilemma and came over to warm me with her own body. Madu tried to join in as well, but as soon as she realized I was cold, she shrank away.
I gave myself a few seconds to warm up before repeating. "Abelha. You have the full day to figure out if you want to, and even then, if you're still not happy with the idea, we will be back next cycle."
"And you won't try to force me to make you my honey?" She somewhat demanded."I promise to give you the basics you need in order to live," I answered, watching her closely. "If you want anything extra, that will require some effort on your part. I want to help, but I also don't want to have to look after a parasite."
