Chapter 131. Centaur village the second time
I found that I was largely useless for the rest of the day.
I couldn't really help Voras with her making of clothing and apart from bringing her a few slabs of meat when she was hungry and a little bit of Zeldi's milk she didn't need me.
Madu and Dríade were forced to be her models much to the Dryad's dismay as she complained endlessly. She had offered to make a new body with a Dryad's version of clothes that properly covered her but it wouldn't be ready in time so she'd had to sit patiently while Voras made her something.
Madu was the complete opposite as she would find me the moment she had a new item of clothing to 'make sure it covered enough' even if that item was only a bra. I can't lie this was nice to look at and she knew I enjoyed it.
Zeldi took her time going through her wardrobe to find the absolute perfect dress and came up with a dark purple one that Voras had made for her previous quest. It was also one I hadn't seen though unlike Madu she kicked me out of her room to get ready myself instead of letting me help.
I grumbled in good nature that she would have to show me every part of it when we got back and only left when she agreed with a sigh that was more for show than anything.
That left me with the rest of the day to do nothing while each of the girls were busy. Well almost all of them.
Tarakona landed beside the stream and looked at me with blood still dripping out of her jaws.
[Care to help me bathe my love?]
Did she even need to ask?
I bought a large brush from my shop and started scrubbing her scales as she rested her chin just below the surface of the water.
It didn't take long for her to ask the question I was already expecting.
[Tell me about Zeldi's family my love. I would like to make a good impression when we meet them.]
I didn't know what exactly she was looking for so I told her everything that had transpired in our last visit while I removed all the blood. She hummed in amusement at the part where I got kicked and was rather interested in Gally and how she was trying to join.
[They seem like a close family.]
There was a bit of wishful need in her voice that made me let out a sigh. "Your own mother is looking out for you in her own way. Even if that way is terrifying. Now open your mouth so I can brush your teeth, would hate for you to have some bones or something trapped in them."
Tarakona complied with a snort and I bought some toothpaste from my store before looking at the single tube and buying some more. I hadn't really thought about our dental hygiene since coming here. Easy fix now though.
[Hmmmm. It would be good if my mother did accept you but that would require you to be a Dragon my love. She will always think less of you until that fact is proven. I know it's a bit species-ist but she doesn't want me doing everything that would be required in the future.]
"Good thing I'm working on it then." I joked with a little truth. "Once I complete my next quest I should be able to turn into all the species of you girls."
Tarakona shifted so I added. "But that is for after we return. Zeldi gets one chance to see her family every cycle and we will give her the best opportunity every time. Then we can work on that."
I could feel Tarakona's eyes trying to bore a hole into my head but she relented.
[I will hold you to that my love. The moment we get home you will be telling me what your quest is and how we can complete it quickly. I believe I've been patiently waiting long enough for this.]
"You and me both. It would be nice to be able to do more than sit around looking pretty while you girls deal with problems. Not to mention how freeing it felt to fly with you." I reminisced only for Tarakona to let out a full body shiver.
[That is still my most precious memory. It would do us well to make more memories like that.]
I nodded along with her as thoughts of running around as a Centaur with Zeldi came to mind. Or other activities that involved shape shifting.
Tarakona continued to ask questions about Zeldi's family as I brushed her down and I answered the best that I could until Tilty found us.
She held her head down as she knew what was coming but she didn't shy away. This wasn't going to be a pleasant trip for her.
---
"Okay is everyone ready?" Zeldi asked for the umteanth time.
We had all gathered in a semi circle the next morning while we waited for the cool down duration to expire.
Zeldi had her dark purple dress on that was absolutely beautiful to look at against her light skin and blond hair. She had also tried to style her hair but had utterly failed and made do with a simple brush.
Voras had donned her rainbow abdomen covering as well as a matching shirt that seemed to steal the gaze as she moved.
Madu had what I could only describe as a pencil skirt in a green that matched her scales so that it wouldn't flap around as she moved and only just passed Zeldi's strict dress code. Her top half was in a hoodie that covered her face and left a gap for her tongue to slip out every now and then. She looked like a nun that was trying to become a office worker.
Dríade ever the grumbling woman she was had a basic pair of pants in a mud brown with a shirt that Voras had cut in the back so her wings could fit. Nothing special and as requested no dress or skirt as per her request.
Tilty was a bit of an exception but that was mainly because Voras had run out of time and silk to make her anything fancy so she was wearing a shirt and pants combo that were one of mine. It did not fit well at all even with a belt of sorts. My pants ended at my knees but came down to her quads with enough room that Madu could stick her tail in the gap. It would do was all Zeldi had said.
[We are ready sister. No need to stress so much.]
Tarakona didn't need clothes in her Dragon form and with her egg still growing she wasn't risking transforming.
"You're right. We're only going to visit my family to see if they approve of me being part of this strange herd we have all created." She returned with sarcasm and a lot of worry.
Surprisingly Voras stepped forward and held a hand on Zeldi's shoulder. "And if they don't accept you will still have all of us."
I don't think that was quite was Zeldi was scared about but the act itself seemed to calm her down some.
I smiled as the countdown hit zero and activated the prompt.
There never was a glowing light or anything when the Deed sent us anywhere, we were just there the moment I was out of my menus.
Matching my thoughts Dríade lazily mumbled. "I was expecting more flair."
We were on the outskirts of a farm by the looks of it and I could make out Centaurs in the distance pointing at Tarakona.
[Helayt! I am a sister wife of your daughter Zeldi and have come to introduce myself.]
Tarakona sent her voice far across the farmland and towards the village.
I don't think I mentioned the Yenama was Zeldi's birth mother to Tarakona. Hope that wasn't a bad thing.
Zeldi shuffled nervously and began to pace back and forth so I pulled her into a hug.
"No need to frett my little mare."
"What if they don't like them?" She said even as she was muffled against my chest.
"Then they are blind to the idea of a Dragon protecting our foals." I answered just as a stomping of hooves could be heard.
Leading the stampede was Daxel. Zeldi's father was wearing very little as usual but held a claymore the same length as his horse body.
[I should have expected a welcome like this.]
Behind Daxel there was a collection of stallions all in different states of undress with some in armour while the others wore just as much as their leader. Behind them I could make out Helayt trying to shout something that no one was listening to.
"This is all very stimulating." Madu hummed in her blind state but even she could feel the ground shaking. "Voras, do we have time to run away? Leave them to deal with all this?"
She didn't get to answer as Tarakona brought herself up to her full height and roared loud enough that it echoed across the fields.
The stampede froze and not because of her frost, though a thin film settled over the ground.
[Now that I have your attention. I am here peacefully, that will change if you attack me or my fellow sisters.]
Helayt pushed to the front of the group followed closely by Yenama who ignored everyone and be-lined towards her daughter the moment she laid eyes on her.
"Males and their one track minds." Helayt spat towards the group behind her before facing towards us and taking a breath. She hid her fear well at the sight of Tarakona as she made her way forward.
I'd stepped away from Zeldi and moved towards Helayt so she didn't need to get as close in hopes it would help.
"I should have sent a message somehow." I joked with a smile I hoped relaxed her.
"We wouldn't have believed you." Helayt said back simply never looking away from Tarakona.
[If you are one of Zeldi's mothers it is good to make your acquaintance. I am Tarakona mate of Clovek and sister wife of Zeldi.]
Helayt let out a stiff laugh. "And we spent so much effort trying to get ahold of another Livestock so that Zeldi would have company only for you to have a Dragon already..."
Before I could ask what she ment Dríade squealed in a manner so unlike her that I spun thinking something was wrong. What I found was her with her hands around a woman that was half bee and all curves.
"Master Clovek we're keeping her!"
