Chapter 113. The Deeds
The girls all had different reactions as my head violently tried to remove my brain like it was personally insulting it.
I tried to stay standing but when the world started to spin I found my face on the floor before I even realized I wasn't on my feet anymore.
Tarakona roared as her head whipped back and forward like she was trying to locate the source of my plight while both Madu and Dríade were beside me trying to speak, though their words were mumbled like I was so far away and underwater.
Do not do that to him! I am his Deed so I will be the one to prioritize talking. If we all try to do that again, well I don't know what will happen.
We are all his Deeds now. Or did you forget that part?
You seem to prioritize Madu so I wouldn't call you his Deed.
Can you stop. We all work together, just because you were first doesn't give you extra rights when it comes to talking with Clovek.
I agree. We are in this together.
Can you guys please have this argument somewhere that isn't in my skull? It's giving me a headache, and while you're at it never do whatever you guys just did again.
We are sorry Clovek. We got a bit excited about the possibility of a new Ley line being introduced to the farm.
I gathered that. What makes the Ley line so important to you guys?
They are the source of our power and by extension yours. So more of them equals faster growth for us.
It also means with enough of them we could rival that Dragon.
You mean Tithalia?
Yes her.
So if the Ley line is the source of your power what am I then? Why do you need me?
You are the purifier. We cannot control the essence in its normal form but once it has passed through you it is more... Stable, I guess you could say.
Enough of this. Your livestock need you
No sooner had purple said that my surroundings started to become clearer with my head cushioned between my favorite Centaur's chest.
"Are you okay Master?" Zeldi cooed as she brushed her hands through my hair. She was lying on her belly to keep herself low enough.
"Oh please tell me he's okay." Voras fretted from outside. She went from pacing side to side, to trying to look through the door. Somewhere in all of this she'd put some clothes on and a part of me that wasn't properly focused on anything reminded me I still had her undergarments in my inventory.
"I'm fine." I tried to say only to gurgle something in my throat. This caused me to lurch to one side and release the breakfast I'd just had back to the ground.
"Sure sounds fine." Madu sarcastically remarked. "How are you sick? Shouldn't you be immune to everything on your farm? That includes poison unless my knowledge is incorrect."
I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand before responding. "The Deeds. They all tried to speak to me at once and it was apparently to much for me to handle."
[They had better not do that again or I will be asking my mother how to kill them.]
The growl following her statement was directed my way as if Tarakona could see them through me. As a result I felt the Deeds flinch even though they weren't touching me.
"I didn't realize they could do something like that." Zeldi tried to moderate but I'd gotten part of my breakfast on the side of her dress.
"Apparently they can. Though they did apologize. Apparently what Madu said about the Ley lines connecting really excited them." I gave as the reason trying to stand back up but Zeldi stopped me by pulling me back into her chest. She was leaking but that wasn't a high priority right now.
The Deeds had thankfully gone silent either out of concern for me of fear of Tarakona I couldn't tell.
"In all my time as a Deed owner I never had anything like that happen." Voras offered as she stopped pacing and instead joined us inside.
"Neither. My Deed was pretty chill when it came to discussing anything. I almost wanted it to chat more when I was bored." Madu said as well.
"Yeah but having three of them all scream that I need to get the Dryad's is a little different. Also you have the Deeds full support for creating your Grove" I mentioned to Dríade who was standing a little further back than everyone else just watching.
"I will get on that right away but I wish to ask something of you. Or more importantly you Zeldi." The Dryad spoke softly.
"Yes?" My Centaur prompted finally allowing me to get up.
"With my tree no longer needing to protect itself I have begun the process of creating fruit that will not poison you or anyone else. But with your permission I would like to give the fruit I have already grown to Clovek for use in his shop." She almost sounded like she was being sincere. If not for Voras.
"And you said I was whipped when you first arrived. Wheres the mighty Dríade with a kill could in the hundreds hmmmm? Oh that's right, she's begging to be treated like a common livestock right now."
"Watch it Vorvor, just because you are shacking up with him now doesn't mean you're safe from me." Dríade bit back.
"Ahhhhhh I'm so scared." Voras sarcastically remarked.
"Girls. No fighting." Zeldi said calmly. This was punctuated with Tarakona letting out a breath of frost that whisked through the room.
Both Dríade and Voras closed their mouths as a single eye could be seen outside the door.
"Girls." Zeldi started making sure to catch both Voras and Dríade's gaze. "I understand that you two have a past but please keep it tame here. We need to put our pasts aside so that we can create a future for ourselves."
Just as she said that Tilty appeared out of her room wearing a thin bikini that was probably given to her by Voras out of pity so she wasn't completely naked.
Like a searchlight we all turned to the Fawn before returning it back to Zeldi. The unspoken question coming to us all but no one dared voice it.
My Centaur gave a nod to indicate she knew exactly what everyone was thinking. "Tilty. It is good to see you this morning. We were just discussing Master making a trip to town with Voras in the next few days. Since you know the area is there anything he should know about?"
Tilty jumped like she was expecting something else to come from Zeldi before straightening up as much as she could.
"Ummm well I can go with him if that helps?" Tilty tried to say but Zeldi quickly shut that down.
"While that could be useful you have not proven that you are trusted enough for something like that. Not even mentioning the extra points it would cost to allow you to leave temporarily."
At the mention of points I checked my balance. I was sitting at two hundred and ninety three so I had enough to get Voras out for an hour. I would probably need at least three for the entire trip, possibly more.
Oh! My quest!
Current quest: Sleep with Voras.
Status: Complete
Reward: Error
Ah. Yeah I did get my reward before completing it technically so the error makes sense.
I mentally completed the quest and to no surprise nothing happened. Well that's a lie, I got a whole new quest but that was it.
Current quest: Heal Madu and Tilty through skills or potions so that their productivity is as high as possible.
Status: 0/2
Reward: Mental resistance to all Livestock and their Deed owner. (We are sorry)
At least their trying.
"Then if you are trying to sell I suggest getting into town before sunrise to set up a stall. Once it is known you are selling livestock products in sure you will sell out quickly." Tilty continued bringing me out of my menus. "Or go to the guild if you just want to quickly sell everything."
"That's good because we might not have a lot of time until Voras is forcefully returned to the farm." I added doing some mental calculations before abandoning that in favor of cleaning up Zeldi.
Luckily we had been close to the door so with the ring of water on power washer mode I started spraying my vomit outside.
"How long does it take to get to town?" Voras asked skirting herself away from the spray of water.
"About four hours walk." Tilty answered before wincing. "There is a traveling stone close by that will take you straight to town. I had it installed a while back."
I couldn't help snickering at that.
Before Tilty had become my Livestock I swore she had some method of teleporting here as there was no way she was walking between her previous farm and this one each time she came to taunt Zeldi.
"That makes things easier then." Zeldi nodded. "Shall we plan for Master and Voras to go to town in three days?"
A collection of nods came from all the other girls.
"Great. In that case I'll take you up on your offer to give Master your fruit Dríade but I'll stay away for my child's safety and Voras? You're on making as much silk as possible so that you can stay away for as long as you can." Zeldi almost commanded but everyone listened as the plan was formed.
