Chapter 96. Dragon bath
I'd been so distracted with this Madu that I hadn't realized how deeply Tarakona had been digging. The hole was definitely big enough for everything and even had some extra space on either side. It would just need to be lined with something and I'm realizing I didn't plan that far ahead.
Unfortunately it would have to wait as I did have a dragon that I promised to clean.
"Of course princess, right this way." I overly exaggerated pointing towards the lake and got a collection of eye rolls from the girls before Tarakona picked me up in her mouth and moved to the lake.
Zeldi laughed as I was carried away and slowly started to make her way over to join us while having a private conversation with Voras.
I was expecting Tarakona to drop me off on the bank but my Dragon disregarded that idea and jumped into the water only releasing me after I had been sufficiently soaked.
"Really?" I playfully grumbled but couldn't hold the smile from coming out shortly afterwards.
[Yes. Now pamper me.]
Tarakona held out one of her paws with each of her claws outstretched. Dirt from digging had gotten caught on the underside of each claw and it was now my job to get rid of it.
With another exaggerated sigh I made sure the ring was charged before getting to work spraying the large sections to hopefully break up the large clumps.
Hey Deed, is there anything in the shop that I could use on Tarakona? Like a scale cream or something that I could buy in large supply?
Yes there is. Though it's not cheap and you would need more than a large supply.
Okay scratch that idea. What about something for her claws? Then I'd only need a smaller amount.
I didn't get a reply but instead had an item appear in my vision.
Oil shine with sparkly finish 10 Liters - 40 Farm Points
Ooow. Not cheap but if Tarakona likes it. Will Tarakona like sparkling things? That's a good question, will a giant Lizard like sparkles on her claws?
If she doesn't I can just wash it off and cry about the wasted points. Or find another use for it.
The dirt fell away quite easily as I turned the ring to power washer mode and with a cloth I bought for five points I began to apply the oil to her claws.
The oil flowed over Tarakona's claws so well I didn't even notice the small scratches she had and to say it was shiny was an understatement. The entire oil must have been half glitter with the amount of motes it left behind.
Tarakona wasn't unaware of what I was doing but when I moved to her second claw I felt her shift so that she could better see that was happening.
The oil itself seemed to evaporate soon after being applied, leaving behind a glossy finish with the sparkling motes that made the light blue of her scales look a little dim in comparison.
[What are you doing my love?]
The wind shifted as Tarakona sniffed her claws to try and determine what it was I had put on her claw.
"Pampering my princess. It's an oil that's good for your claw health and gives them a shiny coat. If you don't like it I can wash it off, I just wanted to do something nice for you and didn't quite know how to go about doing that. So I thought of what girls like in my old world." I replied finishing up with the claws on her one hand and pulling back.
Tarakona lifted her hand and spun it around to inspect each claw on it in a very human like way. I almost wanted to make a joke but I held back.
Voras and Zeldi had caught up at this point and we're both equally as excited to see what had captured Tarakona's attention. Though the surprise was somewhat ruined when Zeldi immediately noticed the smell coming from the jug in my hands.
"Nail oil! Gods below it's been so long since I've seen that stuff and you even found some for Tarakona."
My Dragon continued to admire her shiny claws.
[Nail oil? What is it ment to do?]
From her tone I was guessing she wasn't the biggest fan of them.
"It protects nails at least the Centaur one does. I use to use it before I did anything with my father in the forge and I wouldn't have chipped nails from the heat afterwards. You could get fancy ones in different colours and there was even a mare that would draw pictures if you paid her in town."
Zeldi's response seemed to change Tarakona's tune, though I couldn't tell if that was because of the fancy part or the protection of nails... Probably the protection, shouldn't have got the shiny one.
Tarakona's response was to put her other paw down on the ground beside me in a silent request to continue with her claws. I'll take that as a win.
[Is there any special meaning of the male does them for you?]
Zeldi bit her lip. "Uuuum no I don't think so. Most males don't care to much about female nails. My father would scold me if I brought coloured nails into the forge but if they were clear he didn't care."
"Do you like them?" I asked finally over not being able to read Tarakona's response.
[They are very... Bright.]
I'll take that as a no. To be fair it was a bit of a shot in the dark if she would like it. Next time I'll have to try a scale cream, when I have the points of course.
"I think it's pretty." Zeldi giggled and dipped her own hands into the jug. Her hands came out utterly stained in glitter. "Look sister we match."
Tarakona looked between her own claws and Zeldi's hands still trying to tell herself it was a good thing.
"Would you prefer something for your scales next time?" I asked finishing up her other claws. "I should have asked you first before I did this."
[No my love, this was a very nice thought. I'm just not sure... I'm not sure as a Dragon I quite understand the implications of it. It reminds me of the ice I create when the sun hits it just right and I like that but it also doesn't quite feel like me. If... If it helps my claws then I absolutely love it but your lands immortality solves that issue.]
Tarakona moved so that she was sitting more on her haunches and began to inspect both her new shiny claws.
"What about you Voras, do Arachnids paint their nails?" Zeldi asked sneaking another glob of the oil onto her hands and tried to get it on the spider woman's abdomen. The multiple layers of clothing however stopped her advances though it did leave her with a shiny handprint.
"My breed doesn't." Voras replied spinning a little bit of her thread that caught Zeldi's hands and tied them together. "We beautify our abdomens more with a focus on big colours that are very eye catching. The added colour to our nails is not worth the effort and will sometimes give away our more monstrous features."
She wiggled her hands to show what she ment and I noticed her nails were longer than I had initially thought. This added length was given purpose as she skillfully snipped the thread with the edge before moving slightly away from Zeldi's attempts to cover her in glitter.
Zeldi did not give up and even with her hands bound together continued to chase Voras around the bank of the river. My mare did make sure to only get her hands on Voras's clothes as to not stain her skin and it became very noticeable that without trees or any type of web trap already prepared Voras could not outrun a Centaur.
I put the glitter oil into my inventory so Zeldi couldn't reload and turned back to Tarakona.
Her attention was no longer on her claws but on something in the distance.
I followed where she was looking and found, a bird? I mean a really big bird that seemed to be on fire.
It was a decent distance away but it was aimed right at us and didn't look to be changing directions. I almost wanted to purchase a spyglass or something to get a better view.
[My love. We have a problem.]
"I'm guessing it has something to do with the thing flying towards us that looks like it's on fire." I chuckled nervously.
[That thing is my mother.]
Oh... Oh crap.
