Chapter 194 Killing a big bad
Barbara Gordon’s Point of View
I got him! I fucking got him! I finally found out where the Joker was hiding, weeks of work and viewing thousands of hours of possible matches that even sped up would take me several more hours to scan completely. I finally got a verified match… Now the real question. Did I call Batman… Or did I finish my deal with Danny? That was the question. I thought about it for ten minutes knowing the difference it would make.
On the one hand, Batman would most likely capture him, he’d be sent to Arkham or another high-security prison and then break out… On the other hand, if I called Danny I knew I wouldn’t have to worry about the Joker ever again… I wanted to say his crippling me didn’t leave a permanent scar on my emotions, but it did. I still have nightmares about that night… About what he did to me after he paralyzed me.
No, he wasn’t a human anymore. He hadn’t been for a long time, ever since he killed his first victims and Batman didn’t snap his neck, he just kept upping the number every single time. Bombing a hospital, blowing up a building Wilson Fisk was in, finally, he attempted to set off a nuke in Metropolis which would have wiped out the entire population, hundreds of thousands dead and millions dead in the near future from the nuclear fallout.
He had to die. I made my choice and called him. Two rings before he picked it up. “Hello, Danny Storm speaking.” I gulped as I thought about hanging up again before I spoke. “I found where the Joker is hiding.” It was quiet on the line before I heard the telltale sounds of people fucking before he answered. “Is this time sensitive? You think he’s going to leave the spot anytime soon?”
I thought about it before answering. “It should be fine for another hour but if you take longer than that who knows if he’ll abandon that spot.” I heard a girl squeal in orgasm as he spoke casually. “Alrighty, I’ll be by in fifteen minutes after I get things settled with the new X-men over here. I’ll see you in a bit.”
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
I teleported in after casting a cleansing spell on myself and changing my clothes with my item warehouse. When I found out I could just teleport clothes on that’s all I did now. Making my way to Barbara she was sitting down in her old wheelchair. As I raised my eyebrow she explained. “The chair feels more comfortable to sit in than normal seats and this one has a bunch of ease of access integrations tied in to make surfing through computers easier.”
She showed me his location and I was surprised. It wasn’t an old abandoned warehouse on the docks or an old run-down amusement park. No, it was a mob building. One of Wilson Fisk’s rivals and one who my group had been encroaching on and was about to wipe out. Well, I’m glad they hadn’t yet, as normal as the Joker was his bullshit plot armor would have won him that fight for free.
As I teleported over, I scanned the building and found him fifty feet underground, even further under a basement level. I think it’s a trap but after making a micro portal to scan the area and sensing nothing that could possibly kill me, I knew it was another plan of his. The Joker was digging under a bank, possibly in an attempt to get into the vault and use the money to take back over a gang and build back up to fight Fisk or Batman again.
As I teleport in I explode everyone using the construction equipment to drill a hole under the bank and leave just him. He has enough time to turn to me before he gets two bullets in his kneecaps. As he began to cry out surprisingly less loudly than I thought, almost shrugging off the damage he asked. “Who are you.” It had been a while since someone didn’t recognize me.
I guess he was so focused on everything else that he didn’t realize I had been ruining most of his plans. I killed his team-up partner with the big brute from the hundred. Helped his rivals, helped his nemesis, helped his enemies, crippled his gang, stole his money, destroyed every one of his bases I found, told other villains I let live I’d kill them if they teamed up with him, and last but not least… Fucked and impregnated his old girlfriend.
I answered his question with another two bullets in his legs. I spoke again as he really began to feel the pain. “Those bullets were laced with arsenic, atropine, strychnine, cyanide, and thallium. Even if I don’t kill you those will now.” They also had a micro-symbiote I had control over and some of my own blood which was set up to actively cause cell degradation to any organic matter they touched. He was dead but he didn’t have to know every single way he was fucked.
He stared at me almost mad I had said so little, hoping to die in a truly spectacular way as I explained further. “Once you die. I’ll completely destroy your body and then systematically fix every single problem you’ve ever caused. Every person you left in the hospital I’ll personally go heal, every bit of long-term damage you’ve done on this world will be wiped away. You’ll be nothing but a memory to people. And I’ll do my best to smear your memory and make you seem less important.”
Now he was mad. “You!” I didn’t let him speak his final words. Shooting him in the throat I watched him slowly bleed out, I could have killed him in a spectacular way but dying a pathetic dog's death is all someone as evil as him deserves. If I could have tortured him for a bit I would have but I knew the moment I did one of the Justice League members would find out somehow. As I planned on joining the Justice League, I had to keep my murderous tendencies under wraps.
I watched as his life faded from his eyes before I flash-fried this entire setup here and wiped out the gang above who planned to ally with the Joker. I loved him as a villain but that didn’t mean I wouldn’t kill him for being a great villain. He should have been put down long ago but he was just too popular to take out. I was pretty much done with all the stuff I wanted to do before joining the Justice League… I felt like I already won in life, now it was the last bit before I started to slow down and just live like a normal person.
Sure, I might kill other demons like Mephisto or gods like Knull, but that was far off. Cleaning up the real big bads was just par for the course. Ultron, Brainiac, Thanos, and whatever dregs of Darkseid were left were the big ones. There were still dozens of other smaller villains. I could still gain more powers, and growing stronger was always a goal.
I had enough money to do anything I wanted… Perhaps I would take humanity to the stars and make us a space-fairing race. I plan to explore the cosmos in the future; it might be nice to bring other people. I stored that gun; it would be an interesting gift for Harley or Barbara. I took the rest of the day off; that was one of my big goals.
I hoped Batman would never find out about it. He… Seemed almost obsessive about keeping the Joker alive. The Joker was not only a mass murderer, but clearly got off on killing people and having Batman chase him. The Joker probably got more sexual satisfaction about having his boyfriend chase him than he ever got looking at Harley. As I stopped at a place in Japan I saved from an organized crime boss from closing down I ate my fill of the delicious tempura and yakitori they served here. Today was a good day.
