5- The end of the hunt
The result of the spells is...
Well, explosions are not a beautiful sight unless you are a long blonde haired ninja with mouths on your hands...
I shook my head to get rid of the useless thoughts.
Is better if I ask the girls if they are fine instead of thinking about the dangers of summoning an explosion lover in a world where nuclear bombs are a thing...
'Need a hand?' I asked Jalter
'Nope. This one is done and crispy~ fufufu' She seems to be fine.
why even bother...
Is no surprise if she was the first to end her fight, Jalter is the one with the biggest fire power.
Without a doubt!
And after studying fire and curse magic? All I have to say for her enemies is... good luck evading her fire right after she makes a slowing or paralyzing curse flare up.
screw that!
If the curses stack too much you may not even be able to move, at all.
Seems like Jeanne can't stop being a counter to devils even when throwing her affinity for holy magic... an avenger who uses negative energy to fuel her spells, has magic resistance and the ability to reflect attacks, making Jalter a bane to almost all Evil creatures... that is without counting her hate towards them, hate becoming even more mana for her spells...
'I'm going to see how Jeanne is doing then' I told Jalter since Jeanne is the one who takes the most to end the fights.
'She should be finished by now, that thing works wonders against this guys' Answered Jalter with a lazy tone in her voice.
Later.
'Jeanne?' I asked her while moving towards the place she is fighting.
'Ah!...Yes Ahm, sorry... it took too long to place him inside...' Jeanne answers came fast, she sounds a little annoyed...
'No problem, I'm going there' I told her while speeding up.
I made my way towards Jeanne by following our connection. At the end of the day their bodies are made with my sacred gear and have an especial link with it that makes it easy to know their general location, especially when we are so close.
As for the four Low-Class devils that survived my first attack? They are going to their next life...
...
By the time I reached the place the battle was already about to end.
Right now both Jeanne and the Mid-Class devil are inside a spell in what could be called the classic example of a defensive spell
The first part of the spell uses her sword as a catalyst to create a typical barrier that protects from outside threats in the form of a dome, while the last part heals and revitalizes those inside. A great support spell that could save your allies in the middle of a dangerous fight
Jeanne found by chance that this spell is great to prevent enemies from escaping since the only way for a devil inside to stop the spell is either pulling the sword that is channeling the spell or breaking the barrier.
The sword awaits for the one who is gonna pull it out of the stone, like a holy sword that aids the Hero in its quest to slay the demon lord
It even provides a buff to whoever picks it up!
Sadly the enemy is a devil...
The most likely case is...
the buff purifying his entire arm...
And the healing? healing made by Holy magic? on a devil?
And that is how this defensive spell went from a sacred ground to a deadly trap...
"Damn it, ¡Damn it! "
Sensing the newcomer the last strand of hope, being saved by his ally is now gone, sending the devil in complete despair
He is trying to break the dome with what's left of his demonic power while giving up his defense casting aside all sings of rationality
"Guh-" Grunted the devil and not long after turning into particles, disappearing into the air.
One thrust with the sharp tip of her flag before the devil could react is all it took for the devil to turn into dust...
Jeanne has improved a lot during this time, her affinity to holy magic is simply superb and combined with her charisma makes her a beacon of light that guides those who are lost, that same aura is the one that made her the crush of many boys during classes
They could be annoying but they are definitely not harmful...
The worst were the church people trying to recruit her into their religion, saying things like she is a saint and following them so they can help her save the world together and make it a better place...
Those are the most annoying ones!
I mean, they are not wrong but...
Not that she will ever accept, she knows that this is a different world, so for her the church in this world is just a look-alike religion that worships a different God.
The only thing they archived was making her stop from going into their church and me having to create one so she can pray inside of my 'paintings', a simple one that we can access and use as a base
"Good job there" I couldn't stop myself from patting her head while giving her a warm smile. They both deserve some praise...
"T-Thanks" A smile appeared on her face while enjoying the feeling of the hand on her head...
Without realizing, we have been together for a little less than a year...
I'm glad I summoned them...
Sadly the warm scene was broken by an annoyed sounding voice ringing in their heads...
"Hey! What's taking so long? I almost fell asleep here! " Sounded an irritated Jalter in our heads...
We moved away, with Jeanne making an awkward face for forgetting about her sister's whereabouts...
'You too Jeanne(Jalter), you did great. I'm glad that I summoned you' I praised Jalter
'... Whatever... just come to pick me up ' Said Jalter dismissing my praise and cutting and then connection.
"Let's go" I said to the Saint beside me.
"Yes"
Later
We arrived at the place but we didn't expect to see...
This...
"... " Jeanne...
"... " Jalter...
"... " Even I was speechless...
"What is... that? " Said Jalter not knowing why they reacted like that.
In the middle of the forest with numerous and obvious signs of fights, especially of burn marks, a devil is burning while being impaled by numerous spikes.
Is obvious that Jalter left alive on purpose...
Probably to relieve her boredom...
"I was trying to make a holy demon" Jalter said while rolling her eyes...
"... " I know where this is going...
Jeanne couldn't help but ask...
"How is that making a holy demon? "
Poor Jeanne...
Jalter has the face of someone who just pulled out a Joe joke on his friend...
"I'm burning the hell out of it " Said Jalter while having that amused grin on her face...
"... " Jeanne simply didn't expect a joke like that...
"... " While I, on the other hand, got used to her usual... ways.
"Haha, That's the face Hahaha" Jalter couldn't contain her laugh after looking at the face that Jeanne is making...
while I was looking at the Devil...
Poor guy...
Even Jeanne took pity on him and started to pray for him...
"May the Lord guid-"
"Aghhhh!"
Her prayer was cut by a shriek coming from the burning devil.
The devil was using Demonic power to protect himself from the flames...
That WAS keeping him alive...
But his sudden pain made the devil lose his focus and...
Died...
"... " Jalter...
"... " We both looked into the shocked Saint who forgot what a prayer does to a Devil...
"I-Im sorry! " Shouted Jeanne...
While both Jeanne and I said in our minds...
Poor guy x2...
May... Satan? Bless... Curse? Your soul... ?
