Death (1)

[3rd POV]

The hallway of the top floor, that lead directly to Vivi's room was filled with cracks and fresh blood. It was proof of the brutal violence that just took place.

Xiaolong could do nothing but watch as the two men who had just beaten him walked towards the door of the room where Vivi stayed, helpless and confused.

He wanted to fight, he wanted to move so badly but he couldn't. His arms were broken in a total of 12 different places, cursed to never move again. His legs were also both broken, in the calf and in the things.

His body was marred with bruises, cuts and blood. It was a testament to the brutality he just experienced.

And yet even in such a condition, his mind did not register the pain as his heart was in panic. No, he could feel the pain clearly as the adrenaline had ended, but it was just so insignificant in the moment.

His soul was screaming.

Protect her. Protect Vivi.

Protect your woman.

He had fought with a determination that could never be rivalled, forget about being brave, he was not afraid of anything when it came to protecting Vivi.

Yet even then, he was not able to take on both of them.

Samuel Seo, the former President of the now destroyed fourth Affiliate and Jake Kim, leader of Big deal which was one of the four major crews.

These two had teamed up to defeat him and now they were heading towards Vivi's room.

No, he can't let them.

'God, please if you really exist give me strength. Take my life, do anything you want with me but give me the strength to protect her. Give me the power to defeat my enemies.'

He prayed with all his heart as he slowly wormed his way behind them. He used his jaw to slowly crawl forward but his enemies were already at the door.

'Devil, please take my soul. Torment me for eternity but in return, please give me the strength to fight at this moment. I will do whatever you want, I will sin as much as you want. I will destroy the world. Please, just give me strength to protect her.'

In his moment of desperation, as he slowly used his jaw to move forward, he prayed to both God and the Devil.

Whoever was listening to his plea, help him. He was willing to do anything.

..

..

..

No one answered his prayer.

Jake and Samuel opened the door and they found Vivi sitting by the door with tears streaming down her face.

She looked up at the two men who were looking at her coldly and was about to say something but Samuel grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out of the room.

"AhhHHhhhh." She screamed, for a girl who was living in luxury all her life, pain was a foreign and intense feeling.

"DOn't touch her!!! I'll kill you!!" Xiaolong screamed as he continued worming his way to save her. To save his love.

He only got a cruel laughter in response as Samuel tightened his hold on Vivi's hair.

"It HURTS!!! XIAOLONG!!"

"I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you."

Jake looked at the scene with complicated eyes. There was a fresh cut on his face, a wound he got from Xiaolong that would forever scar his face.

Jake was not necessarily a bad person like Samuel, he just wanted to get Vivi so that he could get information about his friend Sinu Han.

"Oi." He said and grabbed Samuel's wrist, "Where do you think you're going? I need her?"

Samuel looked at Jake's eyes, "I told you before. I am taking her back to the Workers, you will get the information you want."

Jake's grip tightened, "Sinu Han was taken by the Workers. How can I trust you?"

Samuel looked at Jake with an unreadable expression as a tense atmosphere enveloped the surroundings. Things were about to get heated until Samuel broke the staredaown with a sigh.

"Fine, have it your way Jake." Samuel said, "We'll get the information you wanted first before I bring her back to the Workers. We can't kill her as we don't want the wrath of her father."

Samuel then turned around and started dragging Vivi by the hair again, this time he went to the opposite direction.

"No!! NO!! Let me go!!! You hurt Xiaolong!! You hurt Xiaolong!! I will not forgive you!! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!" Vivi struggled fiercely but it was meaningless against a man's strength.

Xiaolong could do nothing but watch and cry as he watched Samuel take Vivi away.

Jake was still rooted in his spot, conflicted about what he was supposed to do. They were looking like the villain here and he did not like the way Samuel was handling Vivi.

In the end, he gave in with a sigh. Even if he had to become a villain, he would do it to save Sinu Han. It was unfortunate that things had to go this way but just like Xiaolong, Jake was willing to do anything.

"NO!!! XIALONG!! Stop following me!! You are hurt, please stop moving and rest. Stay safe." Vivi sobbed, "Stay Alive!!"

"I LOVE YOU!!"

"My lady...My lady.." Xialong continued worming behind Samuel as he slowly dragged her away towards a private corner where he could get any information he wanted from her.

"Man, you guys are noisy as fuck!!" Smauel said before slamming Vivi's head to the ground, causing her head to start bleeding as her body went limp.

It hurts, it hurts so much the she did not know what to do.

"FUCK!! Don't make me hurt you!! It will only end bad for both of us." Samuel said, regretting that he was losing his cool.

He was honestly tired of this soap opera bullshit about protecting my lady and lovey-washy stuff.

He continued dragging Vivi slowly as she had stopped struggling too much. That one slam to the ground had done much damage to her.

Samuel was dragging her away from everyone and then he died.

..what?

He died.

!!!!!!!!

Everything sentient in Smuel's body suddenly started going haywire as a heavy presence descended on the dark and broken hallway.

Everyone felt it. Jake's body shivered before coming to a complete stop. His body instinctively feared moving under the eyes of the thing that was looking at him.

Xiaolong smiled when he felt the the familiar feeling as his face flopped on the ground, his state was between consciousness and death.

Then footsteps.

It was not lound by any means but Samuel and Jake heard it like a giant bell. A resounding gong that declared their fate as one of the dead. A funeral bell.

They felt fear grip their very soul.

Yet even with such fear, thier heartbeat did not quicken. Instead, it slowed down to almost a halt, matching the sound of the footsteps.

Their bodies dare not make a sound, that was why their heart instinctively matched the sould of the footsepts. Thier body was hoping that if they stayed still and make absolutely no noise...

That 'thing' would not notice them.

But alas, that was but a dream. In a hallway behind them, a figure was walking ever so slowly with a creepy smiling face mask.

Yet beneath that smiling mask was endless.

.

.

.

'So this is what dying feels like.'
