Fortune

[Yuito's POV]

Kurumi said her mother was a human and she got her supernatural blood from her father." She said and I froze at the implication of what she was saying.

"I am definitely not like you."

"So that means it has to be your..."

"Father." I completed her sentence for her and she trembled meekly in my arms.

She had never mentioned anything related to my father and I never asked as I knew it was a sensitive topic to her.

I had my suspicion and my own story of what happened between them from bits and pieces of what I knew as an infant but that's it.

That's all I know.

And that's all I wanted to know.

I was not interested in knowing about the bastard who knocked up an underaged girl and left her to fend for herself and her baby.

I did not want to know or hear about the man who was once a lover of my woman.

And maybe deep down, I was afraid of knowing exactly what happened between them and what caused her to be so broken that she would end up loving her own son as she did.

So broken that she would cry to her infant baby every night and even end up lusting after her own son. Coupled with the fact that my world was mixed with the most degenerate doujins you can find, you should understand my fear.

Yeah, maybe I was also a bit fearful of knowing the full story.

"What about my father?" I asked her while tightening my hold, her naked skin brushed against mine.

She remained silent to my question but I could feel that she wanted to answer me. I pulled her to my chest and continued giving kisses on her head.

I didn't want her to be afraid or hesitant. Because there was no reason to be afraid or hesitant.

Sometimes, when she acts like this, it scares me. Is the thing that happened to her in the past that bad and traumatizing?

I have imagined different kinds of scenarios. Was she raped? Was she blackmailed? Was she taken advantage of and made addicted to sex? Was my father a pimp and sold my mother around and let people gangbang her?

But whatever the scenario was, I promised myself to just love her as I did now.

Sumire silently pulled away from me and crawled out of the bed. I watched her intently as she walked towards her drawer.

She kneeled down and pulled open the last cupboard and she rummaged through it before taking out an album. She opened it and silently took one photo out.

She stared at it intently for a long time before she got up and walked towards the bed again. She crawled onto the bed and came right back into the same position which was between my leg.

She made herself comfortable before she gave me the photo.

I wasted no time and looked at the photo she gave me. I did not know what I was expecting, maybe I was expecting some ugly bastard but what greeted me was something else.

He was handsome.

Even I had to admit that.

In the photo, there was a young Sumire wearing her school uniform, and beside her was a man. A man whom I assume to be my father.

Tha age gap between them was even more than I thought.

I hated my father even before I met him. But now that I finally saw his face, I think I hate him even more.

"You see the man in the picture?" Sumire asked me to which I simply hummed.

"You see, that man is...."

[The Next Day]

"Well, yesterday was...something." I thought to myself while I sat cross-legged in the park under a tree.

It was early in the morning and as usual, Kurumi and I went for a walk and visited the park. The girl was nowhere to be found though as she quickly disappeared into the woods the moment we reach the park.

Maybe she was going to catch snakes again.

Anyways, like I said, yesterday was a very remarkable day as it was the day I finally learned things about my father.

It was obvious that he was not the reason I was an incubus as that came from the system but it was oddly satisfying to finally learn about my old man.

Although it was weird and I would like to forget whatever was said yesterday, I was glad that Sumire's past was nothing like I feared.

She was not a hoe, not a prostitute, and wasn't even raped. She was clean.

But what she experienced was probably just as bad....

...

But we are not going to talk about that!!

What we are going to talk about was the absolute zero progress I made in trying to recreate the martial art Water Stream Rock Smashing Fists.

I did not know why but I made zero progress in trying to recreate the martial arts. No, zero progress was putting it lightly, I made negative progress as I was more confused and unsure than when I first began.

I got help from the author who was excited at the prospect of his main character learning a badass martial arts. He went through Google and the OPM manga to learn more about the martial arts and told me everything there is to know.

Yet, I could not comprehend at all.

Now here is how the martial art was described in the manga. "Leading enemies around the nose by moving like a calm stream, only to finish them off with a punch strong enough to smash great rocks like a raging river"

You can't look me in the eye and say that that made sense. Nor can you argue that this was some deep and wise shit.

As a martial artist, the only thing I understood from that phrase was, "Weave through the attacks and hit them hard.".

Which was just boxing. An fancy way of describing boxing.

What else could this fucking mean? Leading enemies by the nose like a calm stream, only to find them off with a punch strong enough to smash great rocks like a raging river.

Just because you use examples, doesn't mean it makes it an extraordinary martial art!!!

To prove how much effort I put into it, I learned something else while I was in the process of learning this martial art.

_________

[Skill :-

Tai Chi : Advanced.]

_________

Yeah, fucking fabulous. I can do old men martial arts now.

What else would I learn on my way to re-creating Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist? Fucking Yoga?

"Nah, meditating isn't gonna cut it. I can't just acquire the skill just by imagining myself using the martial art in my mind." I said while standing up.

"Maybe I should try sitting under a waterfall like those cultivators or something." I thought to myself while rubbing my chin.

As I was in the middle of my musing, I saw Marin and Komi running towards me in their work out clothes.

I had invited them to come to the park last night for exercise and color me impressed they really came.

"Oiii!! Yuito!" Marin called out to me while waving excitedly.

Well, martial arts and training can wait for eternity. But I won't keep the girls waiting.

I ran towards them and we met in the middle as Marin excitedly jumped on me. I gave her a hug and also scooped up Komi who stopped to watch us.

I held them both in my hand, their weight was nothing but a feather with my strength.

"Good morning girls! I am glad you could make it." I said to them and turned to Marin, "I thought you'd have trouble waking up."

Marin laughed and told me she did have trouble waking up. She had to set six different alarm clocks to make sure she woke up since it was winter and it was difficult to wake up early.

"Well, you won't have trouble anymore cause you're moving in." I told her. Since her father was already gone and wouldn't return anytime soon, Marin could finally live with me just like I always wanted.

She flashed me a smile and said she was excited to move in.

Komi was dejected though as her parents won't allow such things. But we assured her that we would all hang out together every day so it was fine.

Komi was aware of my relationship with Sumire even before she officially became my girlfriend - thanks to Marin - so since both of them were going to be living with me, she felt left out.

But I wouldn't allow her to feel like that for long though.

"Are you guys ready for exercise?" I put them down and asked them with a smile. Komi was enthusiastic and excited while Marin just shrugged saying, "I only came here to see you to be honest."

Whatever the case, we ran around the park to get our bodies warm up in the frigid atmosphere while also searching for Kurumi.

We spent some time doing various activities ranging from running, and playing fetch and tag before we finally had enough and left the park.

And while we were on our way home, we felt that it was especially cold that day.

We looked up to the sky and that's when we saw tiny flakes of snow raining down from the sky. The sight of the snow gently falling down on the earth made for a mesmerizing sight.

"Yutio!! It's finally snowing!" Marin said as steam came out of her mouth. Her nose and ears were red and made her already cute face absolutely adorable.

She jumped around excitedly which was quickly followed by Kurumi as they tried to eat the snow that was falling from the sky.

"Come on Komi!! Join us!" Marin pulled Komi with her as they all laughed and giggled while basking in the falling snow.

I watched the scene with a small smile on my face. I remembered how lucky and fortunate I was to have this second life.

"Yuito!! Come on!!" Marin called me out as they did a weird dance with the first snow.

It was cold and still early in the morning so no one was there to bother us from having fun.

But even if they were, who the fuck cares?

I joined them.
