I love you Marin

[Yuito's POV]

"Look I can explain...." I said defensively while putting my hand forward in a stopping sign.

Then I paused.

I turned towards Chizuru who tilted her head in confusion when she saw me. I swallowed hard and thought about it.

'On second thought, I can't explain myself.'

I have no right to go and tell anyone about what happened today. It could be a traumatic experience for Chizuru and I have no right to share such private matters without her consent or if she did not tell it herself.

"Well then, go on. I'm listening." Marin said while walking towards me and stopping a few feet away from me.

I turned my attention back to her and showed a strained smile, "On second thought, maybe I can't explain myself. But I swear I can apologize."

I turned back to Chizuru, "I know I said I would walk you home but something just came up. Do you mind if you go home by yourself?" I said with a sorry smile.

She knew Marin was my girlfriend and seemed to understand the situation. She was a smart girl who was aware of what was happening around her, it was truly a wonder how Tamura sensei was able to trick her.

But I guess love makes you stupid sometimes.

"I don't mind." She said before taking a step backward and bowing to me.

"Thank you so much for what you did for me today. I swear I will not forget what you have done for me and I will listen to your words." She said sincerely before standing up again.

She flashed me this beautiful smile which was rare for a strict and stern girl like her. Marin's eyes immediately locked on that smile like a hawk.

Then she blushed deeply as she said, "And I hope we can keep what happened a secret between us. It's not exactly my proudest moment and I was caught in a shameful position."

She was likely very embarrassed of me seeing her naked and sexually intimate like that. Even more so when she realized I had a video of that moment.

She looked down while thinking such things and she noticed one button she missed on her shirt. She blushed redder and quickly buttoned her shirt.

I looked at her in disbelief. She was absolutely not helping my situation, was she intentionally building up more misunderstanding?

She quickly turned around flustered and walked away from me. She was walking but at the speed of running, clearly embarrassed.

I watched her back as she walked away and hesitantly turned towards Marin. Her eyes were narrowed in suspicion before her lower lips quivered.

"It's not what you think." I started but she was quick to cut me off.

"Then what am I supposed to think? You were acting weird all morning and now we caught you trying to walk home with another girl while you refused to go home with us." She said and Komi nodded sadly too.

I knew I shouldn't feel this way right now but they were adorable. I feel like they were actually my wives who were jealous and suspected me of cheating.

"That's..." I hesitated.

"Oh, you can't talk about it because that girl asked you to keep it a secret? Well, that's fabulous." She said before she grabbed Komi's hand and walked pass me and away from me.

It was quite funny seeing her always do that. It was like Komi was her little clueless sister.

'Haha, I love them so much.' I said while watching them leave me. Komi turned back and put her hand towards me as if not wanting to be away from me, but Marin continued dragging her.

I sighed with a smile before running after them.

"Hey!! Wait up!! Marin I found this restaurant a few miles away, I heard they had a collaboration with Clannad." I screamed at them, trying to get their attention.

Well, let's fix this misunderstanding quickly.

[Yuito's room]

Me and Marin were alone in my room.

I was sitting on my bed while she sat on the chair of the study table beside me. She had my phone in her hand as she watching at the video playing in it intently.

It was the video of Chizuru and Tamura sensei that I took today.

I apologized to both Marin and Komi about what happened and while Komi accepted my apology with an understanding nod, Marin was a different case as she wouldn't stop being mad at me for what happened.

And she was also still suspicious no matter how hard I tried to convince her that there was nothing going on between me and Chizuru.

Which I couldn't really blame her for as I have been unfaithful more than once.

So in the end, I asked her to come to my house alone so that I could explain exactly what happened today and I did just that.

I explained to her in detail what happened and at first, she was shocked and in disbelief but she had to accept what I was saying after I showed her the video.

I know I am the worst for doing this but I couldn't help it.

I love Marin, I really do and Chizuru was just a classmate of mine. So when push comes to shove, I choose to not ruin our relationship over keeping my promise to Chizuru.

I hated doing it. I hate going against her request. After all, she had specifically asked me to not share it.

Usually, I would never do something like this. I was always the kind of guy to honor something like that with my sigma and gentleman mindset.

[Title : The Gentleman]

But I was in love.

And love makes us do things we would never do, it makes people go beyond their normal boundaries.

It makes people willing to compromise.

So when it comes to seeing Marin upset and having our relationship strained, I threw my morals and what I thought was right, out the window and spilled the beans.

Not that it was anything new. I have already accepted myself as a scumbag anyway.

So yeah, I was a snitch.

But in the end, I knew Marin and I also knew she would never do something bad with the information. I trust her completely so I guess it was not such a big deal.

'Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth though.'

She continued watching the video intently before it finally came to an end. She was completely stoic as she slowly put down my phone and turned it off.

"So..." she said.

"You don't have to worry about it anymore. As you saw, I already dealt with it. He won't bother Chizuru anymore and I made sure he faced punishment." I said to her in an assuring tone.

I wanted to say I crushed his balls just like he deserved but I held myself back. I didn't want to go into details with her.

A nod was the only reply I got before she hung her head low. i could no longer see her face but from her body language, I knew something was wrong.

She balled her fist and grabbed a handful of her skirt and she stopped breathing.

It seemed she was truly shocked and angry because of what happened. Maybe it was no such a good idea to show her the video just to save my skin.

"Marin.." I called softly while I sat closer to her.

I put a hand on her shoulder but she did not lean towards my touch and stayed rigid in her place. So I did not pull her towards me and just waited.

..

..

*sniffle*

..

..

I heard her sniffle quietly. Her head was facing downwards so I still could not see her expression but I knew she was crying.

Soon enough, huge droplets of tears fell down her eyes and fell on her skirt.

I cursed myself for making her cry. I knew I shouldn't have shown her the video or told her about anything. She was a sensitive girl so I should've known she would get emotional.

With guilt filling my heart, I softly patted her on her shoulder and waited for her to calm down. She continued sobbing quietly.

But then she suddenly whispered something unexpected.

"sorry." It was soon followed by a louder one.

"Sorry."

"Sorry."

"I'm so *sniffle* sorry."

Words got stuck in my mouth and I became confused.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you." She said while wiping her eyes but new tears quickly replaced whatever she managed to wipe away.

"I was mean to you and being a bitch even though you were just helping someone." She said and I finally realized why she was crying.

"Marin." I pulled her strongly towards me and hugged her to my chest. She cried harder and pushed her face into my chest.

She shouldn't be sorry. It was my fault, for not being trustworthy and making her insecure enough to be suspicious.

"Shh, it's not your fault. You had every right to be suspicious considering your situation." I tried to soothe her but it was not working because she cried harder and shook her head.

"No. Komi told me all this time that you must have a good reason to act the way you did. She consistently tried to tell me it must be something important."

"She trusted you." her voice trembled, "I didn't."

"I-" She cut me off before I could say anything in return.

"And Chizuru even asked you to not tell anyone." She apologized again, "I'm sorry."

"Stop it." I told her, "You did nothing wrong. You are going to make me feel bad for making you feel bad."

"I'm sorry." I pushed her in my chest to shut her up but a muffled apology still came.

"No. I am sorry." I said.

Love was not all sunshine.

When two people love each other so much, they end up hurting themselves and each other unintentionally.

It was inevitable because people were imperfect and could make mistakes, yet they loved each other as if they were perfect.

Love has its good sides and bad sides.

Even now, I was doing it. I was making her guilty even though she did nothing wrong. Yet I couldn't interfere with what was in her mind.

From her perspective, she must be thinking the same thing.

It was so complicated.

But no matter how much trouble it was or how complicated it was, I couldn't do anything because...

"I love you Marin."
