Chapter 128 – Thirst
Chapter 128 - Thirst
...
<POV: Karime>
She's not here today... again...
For the past few days, Carene had either been missing out on Dinner or arriving very late.
It had almost become a routine for her not to show her face in the house anymore.
Considering each of the residents' daily schedule, it's only during Dinner or Breakfast that we could see each other.
But, Carene... she has been too mysterious lately!
Even when I explicitly told her not to keep any secrets from me, I am sure that she is getting herself tangled up in messy affairs somewhere out of my reach!
I am so pissed off right now..!
Celesta came by to ask us for second servings. Unable to help myself anymore, I ended up asking her,
"Hey, Celesta? Why isn't Carene eating with us today? Even though you haven't eaten yet, right?"
Unlike the past few days, Celesta looked overly happy as if her head was in the clouds as she happily answered my query,
"Oh, that? Hehe, we ate out today earlier, so we don't have much of an appetite. Carene should be helping Jorah with her homework right now. Did you need her for something??"
Uh oh... I think Celesta has begun to doubt my intentions.
Even the twins were looking at me curiously. Surprisingly, the one that should have created a scene by now, Lara, was just eyeing me with curiosity without shouting expletives about Carene.
How strange...
"No, no. I-It was nothing, just that, I haven't seen her around much lately, so I asked..."
"Oh? It's fine. Tell me if you need anything, okay? You too, Lanita. And, why aren't you eating the carrots? You aren't a kid anymore. See, even Lara ate everything today. Learn something from her. She has become such a good child recently. I am very proud of my good sister."
Lara looked embarrassed by Celesta's words, but she didn't mock her like usual and began to gulp down the food even faster.
What's going on here? Why am I able to smell Carene's paws over everything lately?? Am I becoming too paranoid or something?
As I began to question my senses, Lanita turned to Lara and asked,
"And since when did you turn so nice, eh? I don't remember you liking the veggies that much?"
Lara avoided Lanita's direct gaze and spoke in a low tone,
"I-It's nothing. I'm just trying to act like an adult... t-that's all."
Lanita seemed completely unconvinced by her twin's answer as she asked again,
"Oho~? Then, why haven't we 'played' together recently? You used to demand it so much too. How can a person change so much within a few days??"
Lara decided to ignore Lanita's words and finished all of her food before she escaped towards her room.
Damn it. Nothing's normal here nowadays. I must keep an eye on Carene. It must be because of her that everything's become so strange! I just know it!
I had been busy with my recently purchased porn collection and was busy masturbating with the new dildos, but... It's no time for self-pleasure anymore.
Time to put on my detective hat again.
...
<POV: Carene>
"Well, that's done too. Is there something else that you don't understand?"
Jorah shook her head in denial and picked all of her scattered notebooks before she put them back on the shelf as she replied to me,
"Ehehe, there is nothing anymore, Big Sister Carene. Thanks a lot for the help~! Now I won't need to worry about the teachers tomorrow!"
"Hahaha, I am glad then. It must be time for you to sleep, right? Then, I would return to my room, okay?"
Jorah yawned a little as she headed towards her bed while replying,
"Yes~. Good night, Big Sister... Carene. Thanks for... everything. Today has been... a good day after all..."
Oh... she's already sleepy, huh?
Then again, it's become very late already. It's unusual for Jorah to stay awake this late. It's only due to the upcoming tests that she has become this serious about her studies.
Then again, she should be this diligent. I am looking forward to the test results!
While thinking of such matters, I softly shut the door to her room and decided to walk downstairs to fetch myself some water to drink.
"Ah? So you are still awake, Carene? Great timing. Come, chat with me a little. You can have some beer too, okay~?"
And when I did, I chanced upon a beautiful, mature lady. The beautiful lady happened to be a mother of four, yet looked so enticing that my junior became awake from its mini slumber.
Yes, I came across Isla, who looked to have done another overtime today and was in the middle of undressing herself.
"Um, where are Celesta and the others?"
Isla looked at me puzzledly as she glanced at her wrist watch and spoke,
"I am not so sure about that, but they all surely won't be awake by this hour, right? I mean, I wasn't expecting even you to still be awake right now. Although I was planning to 'meet' you later in the night, this is fine as well. Let's have a drink together, okay?"
Huh?? It's that late already?!
Poor Jorah, she had to stay awake due to my being neglectful of the time.
But... her sexy mother has invited me to a drink. Should I turn this Milf's offer down??
No way in hell! If I do that, I may as well get myself sent to a monastery right away.
I mean, how could I possibly ignore that lonely and sexy ass of hers?!
...
And there I was, sitting across the beautiful lady, Isla... as she slowly sipped the beer from the can and let out a tired sigh.
Why did I sit opposite her and not next to her? Well, gazing at a clothed beauty is a pleasure in and of itself... especially if she allows you to ogle at her as you please!
The buttons of her shirt were a bit undone at the top, while I could see the hints of her panties from underneath her skirt.
All in all, I was busy staring hard at the sexy OL in front of me.
Isla looked at me, behaving like that, and laughed heartily as she spoke,
"Hahahaha~! Hey Carene~, you have already seen everything there is to see already~. Why are you acting like a little pervert again? Though it reminds me of when you were younger and came to visit us. That time, too, you had been busy staring at me just like this. My late husband felt greatly threatened by you, you know~?"
Ah, so her late husband had such excellent foresight. Don't worry, old man. Rest in peace. Enjoy your stay in heaven, while I dance on the bed with your wife.
"Eh~? I-I don't remember that happening... besides, have things been hectic nowadays, Aunt Isla? When you got promoted, I had thought that you would get a lot more time to spend at home, but..."
Isla smiled apologetically as she replied,
"Oh, sorry about that~. But, most of the old staff have been transferred to our new branch office, while I had to lead a bunch of fresh graduates and interns while delivering great results... they think too highly of me already and plan to test my ability like this for my future promotion consideration."
"The work isn't that hard; it's just that I have to spend a lot more time with the new ones to guide them through. That is why I haven't been around much lately."
I see... being a working adult, Isla has he own fair share of troubles.
And here I am... busy sulking that she had been coming late. I should have been her support pillar instead!
Isla stood up from her seat and hugged me close to herself, with my head being right next to her stomach as she spoke,
"I already know what you are thinking about. It's so obvious when I see your face. Don't blame yourself, Carene. I am doing this because I love you all just that much already. And besides... if you are feeling guilty, why not relieve my stress in the bedroom already~?"
After becoming a little emotional upon hearing her earlier words, the latter half of her words made my blood boil, as I hugged her body close and lifted her in a princess carry!
H-Heavy... I underestimated her body weight... or maybe I overestimated my strength?
But, I won't be showing any weakness right now!
Steeling my determination, I carried Isla to her bedroom, kicking the door open in the process as I gently laid her on the bed.
