Chapter 121 – Cold Future
Chapter 121 - Cold Future
...
As I woke up to Sis Lin's efforts of shaking me, the weakness of my body didn't let me do anything further.
"Hey, Carene? You alright~? Jeez, passing out like that, don't scare your Sis Lin, okay~?"
I could only weakly nod to her fake anger.
"Good! Hey, I need to take a shower already. Due to a naughty girl, I-I am too sweaty now. D-Don't come playing in the bath as well, okay? I am serious this time!"
Seeing Sis Lin cuteness, if I had any energy left, I would have loved to defy her request. Then again, I wasn't in any condition to do so anymore.
As if glad that I didn't refute her, Sis Lin hummed happily as she spoke while walking away,
"It's decided then! I will make it quick this time! I want to eat more of Carene's delicious food!!"
Thankfully, even if she was in a high energy state, Sis looked very happy and let me rest on the sofa while she went to get a shower and to dress up for work.
Haaah... what a life this is. Isn't this what I deeply wished for from day to night in the past?
But, I overestimated my abilities... Better get some supplements to help me recover faster.
I don't think that my days ahead would be any less eventful after all.
How I wished they could also show the after effects of overdoing sex... maybe that wouldn't sell, huh? A few naked dudes lying around like dead dogs... like hell anyone would want to see that for hours!
Unable to help myself, I forced my cranky body to quickly prepare some toasts for myself and nibbled on them, almost finishing them by the time Sis Lin came down again.
Using the time that I found in between after recovering some energy, I had laid out Sis Lin's breakfast on the table too.
"Woooow~~... m-my little Carene made so much for me..."
It wasn't that much for sure.
"Eat up already, Sis Lin. You will be late otherwise. Aaah! T-There are only fifteen minutes left before nine o'clock!"
I began to panic, seeing the time on my phone. There were some other notifications too, but I didn't pay much attention to them.
Seeing her eyes filled with shining stars, I decided to ask Sis Lin for the duplicate keys to the front door.
"Oh, Sis Lin? About the spare keys... do you have them?"
As if doing some magic trick, Sis Lin gleefully pulled out a bunch of keys in a key-ring and handed them over to me.
"Just treat this house as your own, okay~? I hope to see you more around this place."
My face blushed heavily at that. Wasn't Sis Lin asking me to cohabit with her indirectly?
The offer was good, but... I was already crashing at Celesta's place, not to mention that I had grown attached to that place.
I could only smile amidst my embarrassment and accept the keys. They would be useful later onward after all.
Sis Lin had a big smile on her face as she then began to eat the breakfast, relishing each bite as something truly phenomenal.
"Soooo~ good! Carene, you are a born chef, I tell you~! Aah, so lucky~~"
Sis Lin, you are already praising me to the moon.
I had taste-tested it too and knew it was just average, so I could only resolve myself to get better at cooking with more practice.
Although it felt like time went by slowly, Sis Lin soon finished her breakfast. Taking the dishes away to wash them later, I handed her the lunch box that I had prepared early in the morning.
"Kyaaa~! T-This is for me, isn't it?!"
Looking so glad like this is a crime, Sis Lin. Be careful or I might hug you again.
"Y-Yeah, I made it with all my heart! Be sure to finish it all, okay? Becoming weak is no good anymore."
Hugging the lunch box closely to her chest Sis Lin sniffed a bit before she smilingly spoke,
"I-I... will. Definitely."
Good then. What she doesn't know is that... to have a bit more revenge for yesterday... I had prepared a special 'surprise' inside.
Hehehe, I look forward to her reaction when she comes back in the evening!
While I was giggling at my little prank, Sis Lin came close to me and hugged me tight, resting her head on my shoulder as she spoke,
"Thank you for everything, Carene. You really... changed my world. Now, I have the strength to live on strongly! F-For the sake of us... 't-three'..."
She was speaking so softly that I couldn't hear the latter part, but I just rubbed her back, thinking that she had become too emotional.
Leading her to her car, Sis Lin placed her stuff inside and gave me a light kiss as she spoke,
"Then, I'll be going, my dear~."
K-Kuuhh... a sudden attack like that..! Then... I won't lose either!
"Come back home safely, darling~~."
Sis Lin's body froze for a few seconds before she grinned widely. After giving me another kiss, a longer one this time, she went into her car and drove out as she waved at me happily.
Hey. hey... keep your eyes on the road! Seriously... oh no! T-This isn't the time for all this!
Not wanting to be late again, I took a quick bath and cleaned all dishes, the soiled bed sheets and the sofa properly, before I locked Sis Lin's house and went over to Celesta's place.
Hopefully, it's still open.
Rushing inside, I sprinted towards my room and casually put on some passable clothes along with my bag and rushed outside.
Catching the nearly departing bus, I sighed in relief to not be late again.
The night stay at Sis Lin's place... it was a wild night full of action.
But, I missed some other things. I couldn't talk much to Jorah or help her with her homework.
Karime too... she wanted to 'chat' with me, but I ignored her yesterday.
And Lara... I wonder if she got better.
Isla as well... she must have been super exhausted too.
Maybe I would return back home after cooking for Sis Lin in the evening.
Yeah, that... should be the correct thing to do.
Hmmm? Am I forgetting something?
To pass the time, I browsed my phone casually, and that's when I noticed...
Thirty missed calls... S-Seventy messages... all of them from one sender...
C-C-Celesta..? Wait, what is all this??
'Where are you, Carene? You have been gone for too long already?'
'When are you coming back? Dinner is ready already?'
'Why didn't you come home for dinner? Is there something wrong?'
"You didn't get kidnapped, did you?!'
'Wait. It's not due to some slut, right?!'
'I am going out to search for you! Reply if you read this!'
'I couldn't find you at all... even those three sluts didn't know...'
'Where are you, Carene... I'm lonely here...'
'Did you run away from home?'
'Do you hate me now?'
'Did I hurt you somehow?'
"Please reply to me... I'm really scared.'
'Come back home.'
'I need you.'
'Not going to sleep without you.'
'Going out to search for you again.'
"Where are you..?'
'Should I report to the police?'
......
'The sun has come up, huh? Lara is not healthy... so I have to get up. Come home, Carene.'
'Breakfast is done, come home already.'
'It's time to leave for College. I want to wait for you here, but Jorah needs to be dropped off at her School.'
'I am waiting for you at the College.'
'Come here quickly. I. Won't. Punish. You.'
...
That was the last message from Celesta, which had arrived just five minutes before.
So, she was so worried about me, huh? B-But, why am I feeling cold instead of warmth here?
Celesta caring for me is what I wanted, right~? Why is my body not responding appropriately?
What is going to happen to my lovey-dovey future with Celesta??
