Chapter 246: Ding Dong, EurasiAmazon!
Chapter 246: Ding Dong, EurasiAmazon!
To fully explain the events of Highway 69 a bit better, I have to take us back much further than the messy ending of Greg and Melody's marriage. We have to rewind all the way to the chaotic events happening around lunchtime.
The stage was set at Lot 5 in the Garden Estates, right inside the grand Tang Mansion.
Down in the chilly depths of the underground garage, the air smelled of exhaust and heavy metal. We had parked one of my new company's EurasiAmazon delivery vans right in the center, its rear package storage area completely modified with row after row of custom passenger seats. My massive family was slowly getting on board, preparing to hide away in the dark, cavernous back of the truck.
Mary stood near the rear bumper, her fingers tightly wrapping around the small hand of our oldest daughter, Sally Tang. She looked up with wide, anxious eyes as I bent down and carefully lifted my youngest son, Lee Tang, placing him gently right next to his mother.
"Rick, you need to be extra careful tonight," Mary murmured, her voice trembling slightly as she adjusted her posture. "I haven't been this worried for you in a very long time."
I leaned forward, wrapping my arms around my two kids for a quick, protective hug before pressing a soft kiss to each of their foreheads. Straightening up, I locked my gaze onto the striking blue eyes hidden behind her signature purple glasses. I reached out, gently moving a stray strand of her shoulder-length hair behind her ear before pulling her into a reassuring kiss.
I relished the sweet warmth of her lips for a brief, stolen second before pulling back just enough to mutter my reply. "My worrywart sister, go and be a mother now. You are the rock for this entire family while I am off beating bad guys to death. Okay?"
She gave me a firm nod, turning around to help fasten the closely packed safety seats for herself and the kids. While she busied herself in the dim interior, I turned around to load the next woman and her child into our makeshift getaway vehicle.
Hana stood waiting, looking incredibly striking as always in one of her flashy, dangerously short mini dresses. She was holding the hand of my very oldest boy and firstborn son, Rick Tang Jr.
I reached down and playfully ruffled the thick black hair of my five-year-old son, flashing him a confident grin. "Okay Partner, you are the eldest son, and it is your absolute duty to look after the other siblings while dad is away for business. I am going to give you the proof of being a real man today. This hat was given to me when I was exactly as old as you, so here."
Rick Jr. stared wide-eyed as he took the small, black cowboy hat, his little fingers brushing over the fake gold deputy badge pinned to the front. It was the very same cowboy hat my own father had given to me before he left for China, and it was the sole reason he had always called me Partner. Now, I was proudly carrying on the old family tradition, calling my oldest boy by my own name and passing down the title of Partner.
Hana let out a soft gasp, almost shedding a visible tear as she watched the touching interaction between me and her boy, undoubtedly imagining the younger version of me doing the exact same thing years ago. Even Mary, watching closely from inside the EA delivery van, wiped a stray tear from her cheek, because she had actually been there to witness that exact day in my own past.
My son took the hat, placed it squarely on his head, and proudly crossed his small arms in what he clearly thought was the ultimate cool pose. He turned slightly, speaking loud enough for the four little demons waiting right behind him to hear every word.
"Got it, dad! I will protect the others, even my naughty older sisters, hehe."
Bella, my absolute oldest, along with her twin Brenda and their half-sister twins, Tonya and Tiffany, all looked instantly betrayed, their carefully crafted good-girl acts almost crumbling to pieces after being exposed right in front of me. I shook my head at my silly boy's lack of tactical awareness, watching him receive five simultaneous glares the moment Sally Tang joined in on the staring contest. Well, Rick Jr. would just have to learn the hard way to shut his mouth as he got older, at least I hoped so.
I hoisted the dead-boy-walking straight into the back of the truck, laughing softly before my wife Hana Lee stepped up to wrap her arms around my neck, pressing a deep kiss to my lips. She pulled back slightly, pointing a manicured finger toward my gorgeous MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR resting under the garage lights in the far corner.
"I know you and Ling Ling have a mission tonight, so take our baby," she said, her eyes shining with affection. "I don't care if she rides on the back of it with you, as long as you come back completely safe. Love you, and I will see you tomorrow."
After sealing her promise with one last quick kiss, she climbed gracefully into the van and buckled herself in. A second later, my twins and their half-twin sisters marched up to the edge of the bumper to board.
Bella, Brenda, Tonya, and Tiffany looked completely identical to any outsider, and honestly, they even confused their own mothers at times. So when the four little devils—I mean, beautiful angels—stepped up to get loaded, they intentionally shuffled their positions around in a blur of moving limbs. "Daddy, guess who, haha?!" they shouted in unison, their high-pitched voices echoing through the garage.
I didn't hesitate for a single second, leaning down to plant a swift kiss on each of their foreheads one by one, calling out their names without a single stumble. "Bella, Brenda, Tonya, and Tiffany! Not even when you girls blindfolded me did I ever mess up. Now, be nice and don't cause daddy a massive headache during this next month, alright?"
I paused, looking at them with a serious expression to drive the point home. "This is an incredibly critical time for our family, and as my oldest and smartest daughters, you really need to support your mothers. Now go-go, get on board."
My angels giggled happily, getting their tight hugs as I lifted them one by one into the back of the delivery truck's modified package-holding cabin.
Nadia, my wonderfully needy twin, must have felt the immense confidence radiating off me, because she kept her bubbly, positive vibe going strong for everyone's sake as she stepped up. She wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me a lingering kiss. "Ricky honey, please don't get arrested tonight," she whispered, her eyes dancing with mischief. "Because I will be tucked away deep in the underground mansion, and I won't be able to come bail you out, fufu!"
Just as I reached out to gently guide her into the vehicle, Nadia reached down and playfully pinched my ass with a loud giggle, scrambling up into the cabin before I could even react.
Nichole stepped up immediately after her, putting on a serious, incredibly charming smile meant strictly for my eyes as she leaned close. "Mr. Blackmailer, do an absolutely flawless job tonight, and I will fulfill any single wish that is within my power to grant."
She leaned in to kiss me deeply, her fingers instantly sneaking down to pinch my ass as well, letting out a mature, sultry giggle as she pulled away.
Gretta Yang was next in line, carefully balancing our one-year-old son, Mike, in her arms. She leaned in to give me a sweaty, passionate kiss before turning around to glance back at her two older daughters, Rayna and Tessa Yang, waving them forward. "Let us go, girls, this is going to be a fun one-month camping trip, fufu," she said, gesturing toward the interior. "Good thing school just let out, the timing was absolutely perfect."
She turned back to lock eyes with me, her expression softening. "I will remotely handle all those SEG details for you the moment you go to Central, so please be careful. And I love you, Boss."
I smiled, helping the three beautiful, white-haired ladies inside along with my black-haired son before turning around to face Mei Xia, who was currently cradling Bruce Lee, my other one-year-old son.
"Meh, you will be completely fine tonight, Rick," she said, looking at me with a confident smirk. "But absolutely do not forget that I am coming to Central as your official Gun-Fu student. I am definitely not letting Mercy and Hinata go if I can't go along, fufu."
Right behind her, Hinata was staying busy helping Mercy and Lucy's sons into the back alongside her own little boy, quickly loading up Lee Mu, Ryu Kyusho, and Valentine Shen.
It was becoming a remarkably tight fit in the back of the delivery truck now, packed to the brim with all these gorgeous ladies and energetic kids. But the upcoming trip was thankfully short, and I knew Adam wouldn't suspect a common delivery van to be sneaking my entire family to safety before he could send his professional hit-squads to kill them.
Lan Chow was currently out driving another EurasiAmazon delivery truck across the city, picking up Jennifer, Jill, Tina, Victoria, Helen, Linda, Kate, Ana, and Kim along with their own kids at this exact moment. Fortunately, due to the sheer distance, both Mercy and Lan had already completed two full runs earlier, moving the other ladies and children to the safety of the underground bunker mansion located right by my old apartment building.
Hinata leaned over the edge of the van, pressing her lips tightly against mine in a deeply supportive kiss. "Sensei, when we leave in the morning, just say the word and I will happily knock Mei out so she has to stay behind," she said, her voice filled with playful malice.
Mei's ears practically twitched as she caught the comment, her eyes widening at the sly, competitive look on Hinata's face as she instantly blurted out a protest. "Rick! If you dare listen to a single word she says, just wait and see what I do to you, humph!"
I laughed, turning my attention to the very last woman waiting to climb into the crowded back, Ning Tang, the Empress of the China Empire herself.
Still only twenty years old, she smiled beautifully while holding our newest little princess, her eyes glowing with pride as I reached down to pick up our first prince, Long Tang, the future Emperor of China.
Ning'er stepped close, pressing her soft lips firmly against mine, speaking in a gentle, warm whisper right against my mouth. "My Shadows are already fully mobilized and waiting in North City and along the mountain edges to assist you. I will see you in the morning, my Emperor."
I carefully helped the last of them up into the cabin, leaning in to kiss my children's heads one final time before grabbing the heavy handles. With a loud, echoing click, I shut the heavy back doors, sealing them securely from the outside.
I turned around to face the final woman standing in the garage, who was dressed head-to-toe in a sharp, black and gold EurasiAmazon driver's uniform. I stepped forward, wrapping my arms around her waist for a tight hug.
"Alright Mercy, you are officially in charge of safely and quickly delivering my most important packages to our new temporary home," I said softly.
The tall, breathtakingly beautiful blonde, blue-eyed personal maid leaned into me, returning a deep, passionate goodbye kiss before slowly breaking away with a rare, teasing smirk.
Mercy held up her electronic clipboard, tapping the screen playfully. "Mr. Tang, you need to sign right here for delivering your packages, and absolutely don't forget to give me a five-star rating online, fufu."
I chuckled, grabbing her shoulders and playfully pushing her straight into the driver's seat. She grinned widely at my exasperated expression, twisting the key in the ignition to bring the heavy engine roaring to life.
I waved my hand, stepping back from the window. "Alright Mercy, drop them off safely, and I will see you first thing in the morning so we can head out to Central to fight."
She gave me a sharp nod, shifting the van into gear and beginning to pull away out of the garage. "My father and the entire Mu Clan have already initiated the plan," she called out over the rumble of the engine. "All of the delivery drivers under Mu are just waiting for my final signal. Bye, Rick!"
As the heavy EurasiAmazon truck rumbled out of the mansion's underground parking garage, the fading taillights cast long shadows against the concrete walls. I watched it disappear up the ramp, the quiet hum of the engine leaving me alone with my thoughts.
Standing there in the empty garage, my mind drifted back to my eighteenth birthday, the exact day I had received a mysterious System that ultimately quit on me.
Before it vanished, it had left me with a single, powerful tool: the Virtual Business Management Master skill. The system's final directive had been incredibly clear, ordering me to create the next absolute monopoly to rival Amazon.
I had taken that prompt and run with it, building a massive empire that perfectly blended the absolute scale of Amazon with the robust logistics network of UPS. To keep my hands clean and my name out of the headlines, I had tasked Tom Mu and his entire clan with running the operations completely in secret.
So when Mercy joked earlier about leaving a good online review, she wasn't just playfully teasing her husband. She was deadly serious, acting as the powerful Vice President under her dad's leadership for the absolute largest online delivery and shopping service in the entire country.
But my massive corporate creation wasn't just built for making money or delivering household goods; it was perfectly optimized for tactical strikes like the ones taking place today. Every single member of the Traditional Lee Clan located in Star City, and across the rest of Eurasia outside of Central Capital, was currently being visited by my custom courier service.
I reached into my pocket, pulling out my smartphone as I walked back toward the garage lights. I quickly dialed my partner's number, placing the device against my ear as the line connected. "Alright Ling Ling, have Luke help you capture those two idiots," I said into the receiver, my voice cold and focused. "Oh, and we are taking my racing bike tonight when we finally leave Star City. Bye."
I ended the call without waiting for a reply, slipping the phone back into my pocket. With a heavy sigh, I turned on my heel and walked toward the upper levels to pack my gear, preparing to lock up the grand Tang Mansion before the coming storm inevitably destroyed it.
Meanwhile, thousands of miles away in a densely populated border city of Black State, right on the outer edge of Central Capital, a completely ordinary EurasiAmazon delivery truck pulled up to the curb. It came to a smooth stop right in front of a remarkably low-key, unassuming suburban home.
Ding Dong!
The cheerful sound of the doorbell echoed through the quiet house as the driver stood patiently on the porch. He was dressed in the standard company uniform, holding a small, shoebox-sized brown package securely in both hands.
A moment later, the front door swung open to reveal the middle-aged homeowner, who blinked in complete confusion at the sight of the blonde, blue-eyed driver standing on his welcome mat.
"You must have the wrong house," the man said, shaking his head as he looked at the brown box. "I definitely didn't order anything online."
The delivery driver locked his eyes onto the man's face, instantly matching his features to the mental target profile before feigning absolute ignorance as he glanced down at the shipping label. "Well, this package is explicitly addressed to John Lee. You are him, right?"
The homeowner gave a slow nod, confirming his identity without a single suspicion.
The driver smiled warmly, his hands moving in a blur as he tore open the top of the cardboard box. Instead of consumer goods, his fingers wrapped around the textured grip of a hidden 9mm automatic pistol, complete with a professional suppressor.
Thep! Thep! Thep!
The muffled cracks of the weapon cut through the quiet afternoon air in rapid succession. The man's eyes went wide as the rounds hit their mark, his body collapsing backward onto the floorboards with a heavy, lifeless thud.
The Mu family driver stepped casually over the threshold, entering the quiet house to systematically finish the rest of his cleanup task.
"Sorry, traitors, but our Emperor is officially back," he muttered to the empty hallway, checking his watch with a small sigh. "Man, I really hope I can beat the afternoon traffic, because I still have two more deliveries to make in this town."
This exact, cold-blooded scene was currently playing out in dozens of separate towns all across the map, completely outside the control and notice of Central Capital. Thanks to the calculated assistance of the Political Lee faction, my corporate hitmen were wiping out the competition completely under the radar.
