Chapter 210: Doctor Ling, Happy And Disappointed!
Chapter 210: Doctor Ling, Happy And Disappointed!
I am twenty-two with one of the most impressive harems in Eurasia, yet I feel a bit bashful at the knowing grin Gretta's two daughters are giving us at the end of the birthday party. The atmosphere in the room is still warm from the celebration, filled with the scent of sweet frosting and cheap party poppers. I clear my throat and step back from their mother, trying to smooth down my jacket with a practiced, casual air.
"It was nice to meet all of you, but sadly I have to go," I say, offering a polite smile to the gathered teenagers to mask my sudden urge to escape the giggling. "I have an important business meeting to plan for tomorrow morning. The birthday party was fun."
A chorus of disappointed whines immediately erupts from the group, cutting through the background music. One girl pouts deeply, crossing her arms while another dramatically clutches her chest as if wounded.
"Aw!" "Soooo soon?" "Thanks, Mr. Tang." "I am your biggest fan, Mr. Tang!"
The varied reactions bounce around the living room, and Ray leans against the doorframe, her gaze bouncing between me and her mother with a highly suspicious smirk. "Mom, you should walk Mr. Rick and his friend out, right?" Ray suggests, her tone dripping with mock innocence.
Gretta lets out a soft sigh, rolling her eyes as she realizes she is in for a very long night of endless teasing from her own children. She surrenders to the inevitable and nods, though the ironic twist of the situation isn't lost on her. Normally, she is the absolute predator teasing her daughters about their little crushes, but now the tables have completely turned. It feels exactly like a tough school bully getting caught red-handed dressing up in frilly magical-girl cosplay for a dumb children's television show.
The three of us begin our walk down the long, brightly lit hallway toward the front entrance of the house. Jim walks a few paces ahead, his broad shoulders shaking slightly as he tries to suppress a knowing grin. He accelerates his pace to give us space, moving so fast you would think he expects a massive pay raise for acting as Gretta's ultimate wingman.
We reach the heavy front door just as Jim slips outside into the cool night air, his boots crunching on the gravel before he climbs into the waiting Jeep.
Gretta throws all caution to the wind, stepping directly into my personal space and wrapping her arms tightly around my neck for a fierce goodbye kiss.
The heat of her body presses against mine, the scent of her perfume filling my senses as our lips finally part with a soft gasp. "I am sending you Velvet Security as of now," I murmur, my hands resting on her waist as I look into her eyes. "They have already arrived and are stationed right outside the front gates. Being my lover will require some serious protection in the background, so are you fine with that?"
Her beautiful gold eyes gleam with pure joy, flashing in the dim porch light as she hears me officially claim her as my woman. She nods radiantly, her smile bright enough to light up the dark driveway. Taking advantage of her distraction, my fingers slip into her coat pocket, smoothly pick-pocketing her smartphone without making a single sound. I quickly bypass her security features with a few taps, opening the highly modified Harem-Chat application that all my top executives use for free, regardless of whether they are officially in the harem yet.
Gretta watches my hands move with utter curiosity, blinking in bewilderment as she tries to figure out how I managed to steal her phone without her feeling a thing.
"Here, I will let you explain it to the rest of the harem, have fun," I say, placing the device back into her palm.
She looks down at the glowing screen, staring blankly at the automated system notification confirming her addition to the extended Harem-Chat network. A daze washes over her face as she scrolls through the contact list, recognizing almost all of the prominent women she knows, along with a couple of unfamiliar names. A second later, her phone begins to vibrate nonstop, pings echoing through the quiet night as welcome messages and curious texts roll in from the other girls.
"Rick, am I actually awake?" Gretta asks, her voice trembling slightly as she looks up from the screen. "It all feels like it happened so suddenly. I really don't want to wake up if this is just a dream."
Noticing that the driveway is completely clear and Jim is looking away, I lean in and press my lips against hers for one last passionate kiss. "Ahh~!" she gasps as I pull away.
Before she can recover her bearings, I reach down and deliver a firm squeeze to her rear, perfectly getting even for the way she groped me earlier. The tight fabric yields under my palm, leaving her completely breathless as I turn on my heel.
I quickly escape into the passenger seat of the Jeep like a thief running through the night, fully satisfied with successfully raiding the booty.
The Jeep engine roars to life as Jim shifts into gear, the tires kicking up dirt as we speed away from the estate. The main reason I left the party so early is because I know how fast teenagers move on social media. Their online posts about me being at the party will definitely alert Adam, whose mental state finally cracked after his nonstop, agonizing, and bloody anal marathon left him completely unhinged.
Naturally, the Lee family's operatives would flock to this specific neighborhood to watch my every movement. But I anticipated their moves, ordering my Velvet Security teams to arrive ahead of time to disperse the lingering reporters and private investigators from the main gates. Their presence ensures a clean exit for us and establishes a tight guard line around Gretta's property.
Once we pull out onto the main boulevard, I pull over to exchange cars with the original Jeep owner, and the two of us quickly transfer into my heavily armored black BMW.
Jim steers the luxury sedan onto the highway, glancing at me with a smirk that bridges the line between a loyal friend and an annoying instigator. "Big Sis Gretta looked incredibly happy just now," Jim says, adjusting his grip on the steering wheel. "So, you finally accepted her into the fold?"
"Nope, we just put up an elaborate act to trick a certain retarded monkey," I reply, leaning back against the leather seat.
A heavy silence lasts for about ten seconds before the both of us erupt into loud, raucous laughter that echoes inside the cabin. The tension leaves my shoulders as we speed through the dark streets, traveling back home early to be with our families.
The moment I walk through the front door of the mansion, the girls gather around me in the main hallway. I explain everything that happened at the birthday party to clarify any potential doubts, but most of my harem had long expected this outcome. They know Gretta's sheer persistence, and they knew it was only a matter of time before she found her way into the lover category of our group. Victoria, Lucy, and Kim are visibly the most excited about the news, given their long history and close friendship with her.
"I assigned two elite members of the God Squad to closely monitor Gretta's safety," I announce, leaning against the kitchen counter while the wives nod in approval. "The normal security detail will focus entirely on her two girls. Both of those teenagers will be treated like my own stepdaughters in this home."
The rest of my Saturday night dissolves into pure chaos on the large living room rug, playing endless games with the children. I am forced to absorb dozens of plastic Nerf swords and foam gunshots from my incredibly eager kids, since I am playing the role of the ultimate final boss of a video game. To make matters worse, my damn wives take part as well, firing foam darts at my chest from behind the safety of the sofas.
Later in the evening, I step away to contact Pam Sun regarding the massive news conference scheduled for tomorrow morning. She dare not neglect a single detail of this duty, especially with the Prime Minister himself confirmed to attend the event. In this world, his arrival carries the massive political weight of a President visiting in my past life.
Mercy showers me that night, completely removing all my built-up sexual stress from the recent events.
The reason for my peaceful night becomes clear when I walk into the master wing. Tonight, a few of my wives are having a massive sleepover in Mary's room, so I just end up serving as a giant human body pillow for four of them. Mary, Hana, Kim, and Kate curl tightly against my chest and arms, their soft breathing lulling me into a deep sleep.
Rewinding the clock a bit, back inside the main Feng family mansion during dinner...
Jill and Greg Feng sit at opposite ends of the massive, polished mahogany dining table. Their personal maids stand silently in the dim corners of the room, watching over a completely silent and tense meal. Jill watches her husband push his food around his plate, fully aware that Greg is currently deeply distressed about something.
"So my dear husband, what seems to have you down the past few days?" Jill asks, cutting through the silence with a smooth, pleasant tone.
Greg shifts uncomfortably in his chair, his jaw tightening as he looks down at his glass. He has not been able to achieve an erection since Tuesday, a humiliating secret he is entirely reluctant to admit to his beautiful wife. He clears his throat and offers a dishonest excuse. "I have been trying to deliberately abstain from sex for this past week, but I do not think it is a good thing for my body," Greg says, avoiding her eyes. "I recently read a health magazine claiming that too much sex is bad for longevity, so I have been trying something new."
Jill maintains a completely straight face, knowing damn well that he can no longer perform sexually due to the secret medical intervention. She only playfully squints her eyes, letting a soft laugh escape her lips as she feeds him a massive lie. "Greg, my loving husband, what absolute nonsense are you saying?" Jill asks, leaning forward with a gentle smile. "You and I made love just this past Wednesday night, but I guess you drank far too much wine and simply do not remember it? You were surprisingly vigorous that night, and I strongly believe the chances of me carrying your child right now are very high. So you have indeed had sex this week. Well, I suppose if you get that drunk, you simply cannot control your passion, Ufufu."
Greg looks up, his eyes widening in complete shock as he absorbs her words. He had been utterly depressed about his life-rod refusing to raise, but he completely believes her bullshit because he remembers passing out drunk in his personal study, only to wake up completely naked in Jill's bed the next morning. He has no idea he was actually drugged and carried there by her loyal staff.
"What?!" Greg gasps, a massive wave of relief washing over his face. "Really? I thought you said it would take at least six months for your cycle to return to normal after the medical treatments? And I really performed that well while I was completely drunk? Then how about tonight, we go upstairs and try again?"
Jill immediately shifts her expression, adopting a mask of fake sadness as she places her fork down. "My personal doctor explicitly told me that I cannot engage in any physical intimacy until we know for certain if I am pregnant or not," Jill explains softly, her tone full of regret. "Also, the six-month timeline I told you before was apparently the absolute longest variance, while the shortest was two months, so the timing fits perfectly. So for now, just focus on getting your maid and your new fiancee pregnant while you wait for the exciting news, my loving husband."
Lane Feng had thoroughly taught her two daughters the absolute highest art of acting, and this simpleton falls hook, line, and sinker for the entire performance. Unknown to the celebratory husband, Jill is indeed pregnant, but the child belongs to her trusted doctor, Dr. Rick.
Greg is absolutely delighted to hear that the stone-cold woman he married is finally showing genuine excitement about producing the next official heir to the Feng Clan. It is a massive relief, especially after the crushing financial news he and his branch family just suffered at the hands of Hope Song, who was listening to that bastard Rick Tang. Jill watches the emotions flicker across his face, a sharp grin tugging at the corner of her lips.
"Don't forget that Father, Mother, Tina, and Rick will be coming to our main family dinner this Friday night," Jill says, wiping her mouth with a napkin. "That bastard will be stepping right into our home. So, will your new Lee family in-laws be joining us at the table?"
"Yes, I absolutely want them there," Greg replies, his voice growing confident. "They specifically want to see the look on Rick's face as he tries to defend his family from being labeled as national traitors."
Jill slowly shakes her head, her expression turning stern as she corrects him. "They can only join the meal if you are officially married to her, not just treating her as a mere fiancee," Jill states firmly. "I want her at that table as my official sister-in-law, not a guest. So if they want to sit at the same table as the main family, marry her beforehand. Go get it done, as it is the only way she will share the family table."
Greg looks slightly confused by Jill's sudden urgency to rush his marriage, but he doesn't think too much into her motives. He pulls out his smartphone right at the table, dialling his fiancee's number to break the news immediately.
A cold, calculating glint flashes in Jill's eyes as she watches Greg argue over the phone with his Lee woman to rush the wedding arrangements. It seems the woman on the other end highly dislikes being told she isn't allowed to attend the dinner unless the marriage certificate is signed. However, her brother is incredibly desperate to be present for that specific Feng family meeting, no matter what it takes.
It takes around ten minutes of aggressive, loud back-and-forth negotiation before they finally settle on a rushed, Wednesday courthouse marriage inside the Life Statistics building. Greg pulls the phone away from his ear, exhaling a long breath as he looks back across the dining table toward his wife. "Okay, Melody and Raymond agreed to get married on Wednesday," Greg announces, rubbing his temples to soothe a growing headache. "So please make sure you are there to witness the ceremony."
Jill looks down at her lap, lazily scrolling through a file of intercepted, highly explicit photos showcasing Raymond and Melody engaged in intense, intimate acts together. A cold sneer pulls at her lips for a split second before she locks her phone and raises her gaze, plastering a warm, flawlessly happy smile across her face. Yet, when Greg continues speaking, her fake expression instantly melts into a display of genuine, dark satisfaction.
"Not only can we officially announce your pregnancy at the upcoming dinner, but I was just informed that Melody actually missed her period this month!" Greg boasts, his chest puffing out with sudden pride. "So if all goes entirely well, I will have two children born into the family at the exact same time."
"Hmm, good," Jill murmurs, resting her chin on her hand as her eyes gleam with a dangerous light. "Now I won't feel bad for completely kicking you out of my bed until after my own child is born, Ufufu."
Greg's mouth twitches violently at the cold rejection, the brief surge of joy he felt from the prospect of fatherhood instantly dampening into a sour mood. Jill ignores his look of dismay, raising a slender finger to point directly at the personal maid standing quietly in the corner behind his chair.
"Get used to her bed for a while," Jill commands, her tone light yet entirely unyielding. "When I am finally ready for a second child of our own, we will talk again. Now eat your food, as your physical health will be highly needed for getting her pregnant as well, fufu."
This successful setup marks the official completion of the very first phase of Rick and Jill's coordinated, evil plans for the unsuspecting Lee siblings and Greg.
Early Sunday morning, I spend my time bathing in the large master tub with my four wives, soaking away the residual tension before preparing for the massive meeting with the Prime Minister of Eurasia. The global news networks were fully informed last night of the exclusive interview, with the official response scheduled to broadcast live at exactly nine o'clock our time. Major power blocs like North America and China are the most intensely curious as to what the Central Government's policy will be regarding recent events, but what makes the public truly curious is the exact reason why I am the one chosen to speak for the nation.
Another intriguing aspect of the last two days is how the entire world is discovering and reading about a mythical being called the Immortal Yellow Emperor. To think the man standing directly by the China Emperor's side is a fully reincarnated person from over thirty thousand years ago produces two entirely different global reactions.
The first reaction is sheer disbelief and mocking laughter from half the world's population, who view the entire narrative as utter nonsense and a cheap propaganda stunt.
The second half of the population is instantly invoked with deep fear, realizing that a recorded being had been systematically wiped from the history books in almost every major country. The revelation sends massive chills down the public's spine regarding what else their governments are hiding from them, with rumors of true dragons spreading like wildfire across the internet.
Furthermore, the raw security footage of my father inside the bank had also been leaked onto the web for all to see. Watching him completely defy death in real-time drives many to believe he is a true immortal, causing deep fear to take root in the masses. Yes, when humans cannot logically understand things, they begin to make up wild fabrications in their minds and then tell others it is an absolute fact. This is precisely how partially real legends and historical stories make their way into our modern textbooks, and mass hysteria seems to be my father's exact goal here. While it is highly possible for those closest to me to figure something out from the clues, it will only ever be those within my tight internal circle.
By the time eight o'clock rolls around, Nadia, Mercy, and I arrive at my personal Velvet Tower TV station, heading straight up to the eleventh floor to prepare for the massive news conference concerning me, China, and Eurasia.
All surrounding businesses have been given a mandatory half-day off, and the entire media building is completely closed to the general public for extreme security reasons until well after the noon hour. Pam made absolutely sure to bring extra heavy security teams from our SEG family to work directly alongside the Central Army soldiers, establishing tight cordons to secure the lower floors and the parking structures.
The main reason I chose not to bring Hinata along with me is purely political, as Japan is widely seen as a direct ally of the China Empire. Minimizing the visuals of her next to me prevents unnecessary media spin, and besides, she is currently defending the rest of the women back at home while they watch the broadcast live.
The moment our feet step out onto the eleventh-floor lobby, we are thoroughly scanned for metal weapons by heavy security scanners and immediately cleared to enter the main wing. We walk down the wide corridor to the exact press conference room where we held the initial movie meeting before.
Dozens of highly trained security personnel from both our private force and the SDF are stationed at every single exit and window to guarantee the absolute safety of the political leaders.
The first notable people I spot in the room are Pam, Sam, and Ling standing near the tech area. Behind them, the TV crew is frantically setting up their gear, testing the massive studio lights and adjusting the audio soundboards. Standing a few paces away is the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Army Commander and the speaker of the legislation. The imposing Army Commander hails directly from the Traditionalist Li clan.
The three powerful men notice my group entering and immediately walk over to shake hands in greeting. During this brief, formal exchange, the legislative speaker and Nadia rapidly exchange legal documents, double-checking the fine print to ensure everything is perfectly legal for both parties before the live feed starts.
A moment later, Pam and her children walk over to our position. It seems today is the one day a week that Sam is permitted to visit her. He looks incredibly gloomy the second his eyes land on me, his tight expression suggesting he is secretly hoping I will be pulled away for a public execution instead of getting a pardon. Pam is clearly just looking for any convenient excuse to suck up to the nation's leader, Sam wants nothing more than to curse my name aloud, and Ling is acting completely aloof, pretending we never had our private talk before.
With exactly thirty minutes left until the broadcast goes live to the world, I notice Ling standing entirely by herself over by the coffee station. I quietly leave my group and move next to her, the vivid details of my recent dream flashing through my mind. I decide to state only one specific thing to test whether my dream memories are actually true. "Doctor Ling, why did you frown at my blood-pressure results?" I ask quietly, leaning against the counter.
Her hands freeze instantly, her fingers locking around the paper cup as she pauses mid-sip, her eyes widening in complete shock. Her head snaps toward me, her gaze locking onto mine as she asks in a low, shaky whisper. "D-Do you actually remember being Tim Smith?!" Ling gasps, her breath catching.
"Only until my eighteenth birthday," I reply, keeping my voice low. "Then I think I died."
Her brow furrows deeply, a flash of intense emotion crossing her features as she leans in closer, her voice tight. "You did not die, who the hell told you that?" Ling demands, her grey-blue eyes searching my face. "You lived a very long life. And are you seriously telling me that you only remembered me from before your eighteenth birthday, and absolutely nothing after?! None of our past relationship is there in your head?"
She looked completely ecstatic at first, but the moment I reveal where my memories cut off, a profound sadness washes over her expression.
"I only recently managed to remember your face and your name," I explain, shrugging slightly. "But everything else from that period is a complete blur, and I couldn't recall any names. I didn't even know my own past name until you just said it out loud. So, I didn't die, huh?"
"So the names... Director Morgana Victoria, Eve Nero, Rain Evergreen, and Luna Vandal ring absolutely no bells to you right now?" Ling asks, her voice full of desperate hope.
"I know there was a specific Director woman in my past, but her name and face are completely unknown to me," I answer honestly. "The other names are entirely unknown to me as well."
"Rick, please tell me you at least remember the Dual Cultivation Technique of yours?" she whispers, her eyes locking onto mine.
I simply shake my head and shrug my shoulders. Her face turns incredibly upset at my lack of recollection, but a second later, a sharp, impish grin pulls at the corners of her lips. "Rick, you and I successfully reached true immortality together using that exact technique," Ling says, her voice dropping to an excited murmur. "I still remember parts of the methodology. So, do you want to become a powerful cultivator with me again?"
I am left completely speechless by her claim, staring at her in bewilderment. "Wait, you mean like in those fantasy cultivation novels?" I ask, blinking. "With actual Chi and distinct body realms?"
She nods her head excitedly, a smooth partial-lie slipping past her lips as she tries to convince me. "That is exactly right, but I could never dual cultivate without my true Dao Partner, or the energy backlash would be entirely life-threatening," Ling explains, her eyes gleaming. "But now that you are here, you and I can easily surpass the Grandmaster realm again. We used to literally fly through the skies on flying swords and everything. You were so incredibly strong back then, you even flattened an entire mountain at your peak strength."
Her grin looks immensely happy, but based on everything I know from reading those specific web novels, a sudden realization hits me.
"Wait, but is Dual Cultivation exactly what I think it is?" I ask, narrowing my eyes.
"Stupid, you were the one who made me do it for power in the first place!" Ling huffs, rolling her eyes playfully. "Of course your perverted technique is exactly what you think it is. Why the hell do you think you stick your dick in everything in this life and never pull out?! You were the absolute biggest horn-dog after your eighteenth birthday. For weeks on end, I suffered under you, you absolute bastard."
"Ah, never mind then," I reply instantly, holding my hands up. "We definitely won't cultivate."
I can see those exact same disapproving eyes I saw in my dream staring directly at me from Ling Ling right now, a sharp look that firmly labels me as an absolute waste of potential.
"Without those memories after you turned eighteen, I cannot believe I ever married you... you dumbass," Ling mutters, crossing her arms in sheer annoyance. "I still possess my Vital Yin. Why on earth would you not want to cultivate? Sam has not taken it yet, nor will he ever."
"Wait, isn't Vital Yin considered your virginity in those novels?" I ask, my eyebrows raising.
Ling Ling looks absolutely pissed right now, as cultivation was clearly a matter of extreme importance to her in our past life, and my casual words are severely upsetting her. The sudden tense body language between us immediately brings Sam running over in a defensive stance, fully convinced that the two of us are having a serious fight.
"Rick, what the hell do you think you are doing?!" Sam demands, stepping between us and glaring heavily at my chest. "Why are you upsetting my Linger?"
Ling, fully aware that I will completely flatten Sam into the floorboards before my official government pardon even kicks in, quickly steps forward and places a hand on his arm to stop him.
"Sam, stop!" Ling orders, her voice shifting back to a calm, dismissive tone. "Rick was only telling me about a new movie idea he wants to produce. It is a fictional story about a retarded cultivator who is nothing but a walking idiot. And so I was just actively imagining what a dumb protagonist would look like on the big screen, sigh. It is almost time for the official interview with Rick, so go and get yourself ready."
I shrug my shoulders casually, thoroughly impressed by how quickly her lie slipped past her lips.
I walk away from the coffee station, my mind racing as I wonder which names matched the specific women I vaguely recall from my past life. I will definitely have to corner Ling later to get the full story, especially since she apparently lived in my exact same previous world. But the timelines don't seem to add up at all if I really stop to analyze the years.
So, my past self never actually died at eighteen and instead lived a long, full life? That means he wasn't suicidal after all, and the damn System simply gave me incomplete, fragmented memories to work with. Well, I can only hope the past version of me had some fun at the very least. But it really is too bad that Ling doesn't have her past life's body anymore, because she was incredibly hot back then. Well, I guess a cute loli body is hot in its own way too...
Crap, why the hell am I even thinking about Ling Ling like that! Fuck, it must be that stupid, lingering Dao Heart bullshit affecting my thoughts. Sigh.
