Chapter 172: Hello Ken, My Name Is Lilith, Nice To Meet You!
Chapter 172: Hello Ken, My Name Is Lilith, Nice To Meet You!
I am currently sitting inside a meticulous set designed to mimic a cramped university student's apartment. The producers even installed a fake window framed by thin drapes to create the perfect illusion of a real room nestled in the heart of Star City.
Reclining on the cheap fabric couch, my current job is to pretend to find the late-night television broadcast highly inviting. The scripted program buzzing from the monitor details how missing person reports have spiked dramatically across the region lately.
As a professional bodyguard, I pass the time by carefully cleaning a prop firearm resting on the coffee table while I watch the screen.
My role for this production is Ken Long, a distant side-branch member buried deep within the Long Clan's hierarchy, making him nothing more than lesser nobility. Ken still has not experienced a single trace of the supernatural at this point in the timeline, meaning his guard is completely down for the incoming threats.
Unlike his long-dead uncle, Kristofer Long, Ken does not possess any of the supernatural abilities native to the main branch family. His background is only a minor step above that of an average man.
He was entirely dedicated to his physical training to become a true hero, and due to his excessive workout schedule, he never socialized during his high school years, turning him into a total loner.
Right now, I am waiting to film the very first meeting between Ken and Lilith. It is a fateful encounter occurring after she successfully tracked his location, following a messy trail that Luna had left behind during her own desperate search for Kristofer's soul.
As luck would have it, Lilith managed to find Ken first.
After consuming Kristofer's blood in the past, Lilith gained absolute sunlight immunity just like Luna, leading to her swift promotion to a high-ranking vampire within the Kingdom of Transylvania. Because of this ascension, she holds the official title of Princess Lilith Dawn.
Luna, meanwhile, never returned home following the violent deaths of Dracula and Kris.
For this specific scene, my wardrobe consists of simple gray sweatpants and a tight white tank top. The director explicitly mentioned that the faint lash marks scarring my shoulders and upper torso provided a beautiful touch for a rugged action hero. She felt it visually conveyed a history of rough, life-and-death battles, which is exactly why she threw me into the revealing shirt.
A sharp knock echoes through the set, providing Ana with her exact cue to initiate our interaction.
I place the prop firearm down on the table, rising from the cushions to make my way toward the apartment door. I carefully navigate a specific path across the floor, making sure to plant my boots directly on the tape marks as the camera crew smoothly tracks my physical movements.
There is an entire secondary camera crew stationed on the opposite side of the prop door recording Ana's exact movements and expressions, which is precisely why we must hit our marks flawlessly.
The moment I swing the heavy door open, I find Ana standing under the studio lights wearing a striking white leather trench coat tailored specifically for women. Her dark hair hangs completely loose over her shoulders, her eyes shielded by dark sunglasses.
The makeup department subtly whitened her skin to a porcelain pale shade, making her vibrant red lips pop under the illumination.
I instantly utilized my Advanced Acting skill to mimic a look of pure, staggered shock at seeing such a breathtaking woman standing on my threshold.
Her expression remains entirely unmoved as she delivers her opening line. "Are you Ken Long, the bodyguard?"
"Yes, Miss?" I reply, keeping my tone perfectly guarded.
Her rigid posture melts instantly as a warm, inviting smile replaces her icy demeanor. "Hello Ken, my name is Lilith Dawn, and I am very happy to find you. May I come in?"
Watching this play out in person, I can already picture every single fan in the movie theater screaming at the screen. 'Don't invite a vampire inside your house, you moron!'
I play the oblivious protagonist perfectly, swinging the door wide open as I gesture toward the worn couch. "Please come in, Miss Lilith. Can I get you anything to drink?"
She glides past me, offering a subtle, devious smile toward the active lens. "Maybe later... If I drink now, we won't be able to properly talk, fufu."
I slide into the right side of the couch, while she positions herself on the left with the perfect posture of a seasoned noblewoman. She raises her slender hands to remove her sunglasses, revealing a pair of deep crimson eyes, achieved through custom colored contact lenses. "Do you need to hire me for protection, Miss Dawn?"
Her lips curve into a brilliant, scheming grin as she reaches into her coat, pulling out a detailed painted portrait featuring Luna Yue. "My cousin desperately wants to take my life, and I want to hire you to protect me from her. I will need you to actively pretend to be my fiancé to sell a believable reason for why we are traveling together. Is this doable for you? I am willing to pay you this much..."
She turns the screen of her smartphone toward my face, displaying a digital bank transfer receipt totaling a cool one million. Ken is supposed to be completely flabbergasted by the sum.
To sell the reaction, I simply visualize how much I would have absolutely loved seeing that many zeroes back before I became the Yellow Emperor, allowing a look of pure disbelief to wash over my face. "Are you absolutely certain you want to pay that much? I am not entirely sure my services are worth that amount, Miss Dawn."
"Oh, no, my dear Ken, you are worth every single penny," she counters smoothly, leaning in closer as her voice drops to a seductive purr. "If you want to keep me alive, then simply do your absolute best, and do not trust my cousin Luna under any circumstances, alright? As of this moment, you are officially my fiancé."
"In that case, let me get a formal contract ready for us," I say, shifting my weight to reach for my briefcase.
Before I can move an inch, Ana places her hand directly over mine. The director mentioned that during the final editing process, they will add a special effect to make her pupils glow, signaling the exact moment she uses her supernatural hypnosis on my character.
"There is absolutely no need for a contract, I trust you completely," she whispers, her fingers surprisingly cool against my skin. "I will simply send the money to your account, and we can kiss to finalize our agreement."
Under the influence of the fictional hypnosis, I sit completely frozen as she slides across the leather cushions. Our bodies press tightly together as a hungry, predatory look consumes her gaze. She leans her head in close, making it look as though she is going for a passionate kiss. In reality, her lips trace a path directly toward the exposed skin of my neck, preparing to sink her teeth in.
The exact moment I feel her warm breath tickling my throat, the director's voice booms through the studio speakers. [CUT! And that was fucking amazing, you two! You guys managed to execute that entire sequence in one single take!]
Ana and I break character instantly, offering amused smiles at the woman's highly exaggerated praise.
We are forced to halt the scene right here because Ana obviously cannot grow physical vampire fangs on command. We will have to shoot a follow-up take later with her prosthetic teeth put in. But for now, this wraps up our scheduled filming for the opening day.
The brilliant spotlight rigs instantly cut out, leaving the set illuminated by the dull, normal facility lighting as Ana turns to look at me. "Except when I'm working with Kate, I almost never get to have my first takes go this incredibly well. If I had known exactly how talented you were back on the night we first met, I really wonder if things between us could have turned out differently. Well, I suppose there is no cure for past regret. I'll see you in the lunchroom, Rick."
I watch the beautiful woman glide off the set, a silent smile pulling at my lips.
My existing lovers had explicitly warned me to stay far away from her. If it were a matter of simple, casual physical encounters, none of the girls in my mansion would care in the slightest. But the core issue is that Ana is incredibly self-centered, and she lacks the capacity to share her partner with a larger group.
Mei steps into the set a moment later, carrying a fresh white towel to wipe away the heavy makeup and the layer of sweat brought on by the intense heat lamps.
"You did wonderfully, Master," she murmurs gently, her fingers incredibly soft as she cleans my face. "Though regarding Ana... I am sorry, but Lucy explicitly stated that allowing her into our inner circle would completely manipulate the harem dynamic in a terrible way. She harbors a deeply negative attitude toward other women. I think it stems from being used by Sam for so long, only to discover she never actually had to tolerate it, leaving her incredibly bitter."
I nod slowly, leaning into the touch of the towel. "My heart has a specific weakness, Mei. The moment I make love to a woman, I find myself wanting nothing but good things for her future. I've been developing genuine feelings for my student Hinata as well, and even though I told myself to avoid falling into that cliché, I just can't seem to stop it."
Mei lets out a melodic chuckle, catching my hand to gently cut off my internal monologue. "Master, if you were capable of controlling those feelings, you should never have fallen for a simple maid like me either, fufu. Besides, Hinata secretly pulled me aside earlier to tell me that she is incredibly happy with her current position."
I squeeze my maid's hand tightly, feeling the lingering complications in my chest melt away under her reassurance. With my makeup cleared, it is time to head over to the neighboring set to see how Kate is handling her individual shots.
The remaining five days of film production fly past in a blur of long hours, leading us directly into the weekend. Today is finally the day Linda Lang and I are getting officially married.
She is incredibly pregnant at this point, but she doesn't care about the traditional optics in the slightest. Linda personally designed her own custom wedding dress, and the fabric fits her expanding contours absolutely perfectly, radiating a beautiful aura of proud motherhood mixed with a distinct loss of her past innocence.
What leaves the arriving guests completely speechless, however, is the sheer radiance of her expression. Her usual expressionless, cold demeanor has completely vanished for the day, replaced by a genuine, bright smile born from pure joy.
Our official ceremony and the subsequent wedding dinner are being held at the exact same venue that hosted our engagement party, the luxurious Hilton International. But today, the grand ballroom is entirely free of the usual political circus. Only our closest friends and family members occupy the tables.
Mary made absolutely sure to clear her busy schedule to attend the event, despite the massive responsibilities tied to her recent promotion. She looks exceptionally striking today, wearing her crisp, immaculate Sergeant's dress uniform, her figure looking incredibly sharp now that she has worked herself back into peak physical shape.
On a side note, I was completely struck dumb when I recently discovered what the old Sergeant's actual birth name was when he finally retired from the force. His official first name was literally Sergeant. His full legal name is Sergeant Rin. I mean, seriously, what kind of parents look at a newborn infant and decide to name their child Sergeant?
George Lang, Sue Lang, Linda's older sister Tonya Lang, and her freshly turned eighteen-year-old brother-in-law, Ned Lang, all stand in a proud semicircle beside Linda as we prepare to exchange our vows.
James is standing right by my side as my best man, accompanied by his three radiant wives. He officially married Jenny Washington, his striking Kalawarna look-alike, the exact moment they discovered she was carrying his child.
Mary stands close by my side as well, given her deep personal bond with Linda, while the rest of my wives and fiances occupy the front row of the guest seating, watching the entire proceeding with warm, supportive smiles.
The exact same female manager who orchestrated my previous wedding with Victoria is presiding over this union, and she steps up to the podium to officially begin the legal proceedings.
The long-awaited moment for our vow exchange finally arrived. A wave of pure happiness washed through my chest as I looked at her, my mind briefly tracing the turbulent, chaotic road we had traveled just to reach this altar.
The ceremony manager offered a warm nod from the podium. "Okay, Miss Lang, you will start, and then Mr. Tang will finish."
Linda reached out and took my hands, gently guiding them down until my palms rested flat against the curved sides of her belly. With a brilliant, radiant grin, she spoke her vows.
"Lucy Lang is very happy today because her daddy and mother are finally becoming a real family. My husband, I have said it before, but I will listen to your guidance in all things. So love me, and never leave my side."
A collective murmur rippled through the front rows. Linda's mother gasped slightly as she finally learned the gender of her first grandchild through those spoken words. Her expression clearly broadcasted that she wished she had been given that piece of information much earlier.
Furthermore, Linda and I had explicitly promised each other beforehand that we would not allow our sacred vows to revolve around the family bank or our sprawling financial assets.
I squeezed her hands gently, looking directly into her eyes as I delivered my response. "I am incredibly sorry that I made it so difficult for you to get to this point. I had to endure a massive amount of hardship on my way to this exact moment, but having you standing at my side gives me absolute faith that everything will work out perfectly. And as for our little Lucy Lang, I promise I will always take your side whenever mommy is being far too strict with the household rules, he-he."
Linda chuckled softly, recognizing the hidden meaning behind my words. We both knew that final promise was a deliberate emotional arrow shot directly at her mother. It was my small way of punishing her for being a slow, stubborn obstacle who had made things unnecessarily tough for Linda during our courtship.
With our vows officially completed, Linda leaned forward, wrapping her arms around my neck. She pulled my face down to hers and pressed her lips against mine in a gentle, highly conservative kiss, determined to maintain her flawless, ladylike image in front of the extended family.
It was an amusing contrast, considering the women lounging on the pool side of our mansion could easily hear exactly how unladylike her vocal cords could get during our private Wednesday evening encounters.
The exact moment our lips parted, the camera shutters clicked in rapid succession, capturing the perfect memory as a thunderous wave of applause erupted from the guest tables.
Before I could even speak to my new bride, she was instantly sucked into the energetic circle of my existing harem, leaving me standing alone at the altar with George Lang.
He stepped up beside me, clapping a heavy, supportive hand against my shoulder as he finally delivered the words he had been holding back for months. "Son, welcome to the family. I am incredibly sorry that the only normal member of this entire bloodline is Linda, but I suppose you already knew that coming into this."
"Thanks, George," I replied, offering a genuine smile. "But in all honesty, she and I have already been husband and wife in our hearts for a long time now. Today just made the paperwork official. Tell me, is the new racing facility still on track to open to the general public next weekend?"
George nodded affirmatively, a spark of professional interest lighting up his eyes. "Everything is completely locked in. Tell me, will you be racing on opening night?"
Before I could answer, Hana spotted us discussing operations from across the room. She immediately glided over, sliding her slender arm securely through mine while casually sipping from a crystal glass of fine wine.
I gestured toward her, directing my gaze back to George. "Hana has already informed me that I am racing on opening night no matter what happens. I am actually planning to bring her right onto the track inside the cockpit with me. I don't care about carrying the extra physical weight in the car; simply ensuring Hana has an absolute blast is the entire reason I am entering the event."
Hana winked at George, a sultry smile pulling at her lips. "Rick already took me on a brutal downhill run, and my body can easily handle the intense g-forces of professional racing again. His new Demon vehicle is completely primed and ready to run on high-octane alcohol fuel, fufu."
George smiled warmly, fully aware that Hana had been an instrumental piece of the puzzle in bringing me and Linda together. He offered a decisive nod. "In that case, I will see you both in exactly one week at the new Lang-Lee Raceway. Oh, Hana, would you happen to be interested in cutting the ceremonial grand-opening ribbon for Rick's debut lap?"
I felt Hana's entire posture shudder against my arm the exact moment he extended that offer. For a hardcore racing enthusiast like her, it was a literal once-in-a-lifetime dream. She turned her face toward me, her eyes practically begging for permission. "Honey~?"
"Dear, you hardly ever ask for a single favor," I laughed, squeezing her shoulder. "How could I possibly tell you no after everything you've done?"She leaned in close, her warm breath tickling my ear as she whispered a scandalous, highly detailed promise. "Tomorrow night, I want you to bring any one lover of your choosing to stay inside my private bedroom, and I will personally ensure that we... whisper, whisper..."
Fortunately, my new father-in-law didn't catch a single syllable of her quiet declaration. My throat went completely dry, and I let out a loud, involuntary gulp at the sheer scale of what she had just promised to perform. It was less about the specific acts themselves, and more about trying to calculate exactly which woman from my household would partner best with Hana's explosive energy.
Hana looked exceptionally pleased with herself, her chest swelling with pride as she watched my normally cool, unshakeable facade completely crumble into pieces.
Off in the distance, Hinata was sitting quietly at a table reserved for the personal maids. As if sensing the sudden predatory weight of my gaze, her eyes locked onto mine the exact moment I mathematically decided she was the perfect choice to fulfill Hana's bedroom arrangement. I really am a tactical genius.
And that memorable celebration marked the official conclusion of my very first week of summer vacation.
In a few short weeks, the moment our feature film wraps up its final production cuts, I will be catching a long-distance flight to America alongside Kim and Hinata.
Completely unknown to me at this time, several other prominent figures from the Star City would also be making the journey to join me in the capital city of Boston for the impending chaos party.
