Chapter 138: Everybody Is Gun-Fu Fighting♪!
Chapter 138: Everybody Is Gun-Fu Fighting♪!
Bang Bang Bang Bang! The chaotic sound of heavy gunfire echoed violently through the entire structural layout of the precinct the exact millisecond Mei and I dived across the threshold. The desperate local police officers were fighting for their absolute lives against a massive, coordinated invasion force of Mad Hatters gunmen. Finding the primary targets in this dark environment was incredibly simple; if they were wearing animal masks, they needed to die immediately.
I had already thoroughly detailed our tactical plan to Mei on the way over, and as my own hands instinctively drew my twin pistols, Mei smoothly reached down to pull up the front of her maid skirt. The swift movement perfectly revealed her two custom-fitted, hidden thigh holsters beneath the fabric, allowing her to instantly draw her matching pair of HK P30 handguns—the exact models I had personally purchased for her and rigorously trained her to master.
She expertly chambered her first rounds, raising both weapons into the textbook, high-efficiency Gun-Fu stance I had personally drilled into her muscle memory. What? You honestly thought I was an absolute retard who wouldn't teach my beautiful personal maids the legendary art of Gun-Fu?!
Fuck, I am a literal Gun-Fu Master, and fully knowing that I am the single, absolute owner of this incredible cheat skill in this entire world, why would I ever refrain from training disciples in my most lethal combat ability?
Both Mei and Mercy were already highly proficient Advanced Kung-Fu martial artists, and both women possessed Advanced Firearms proficiency as well. Because of those specific elite traits, they easily possessed all the necessary structural prerequisites required to unlock the style, though due to them only training for a mere few months under my guidance, they could only actively fight at a Basic Gun-Fu tier, which in a world completely unaccustomed to tactical stance manipulation was already exceptionally deadly.
Any standard combat skill at a Basic tier simply cannot defend against this specific style at an equal tier. That meant the enemy had zero mathematical chance of dodging our shots using standard skills like Basic Martial Arts or Basic Acrobatics.
Mei and I crouched low, using the heavy wooden sign-in desk as initial cover while actively stacking our Stealth skills to seamlessly navigate the dense maze of desks littering the main lobby area. Before moving out into the open, both Mei and I swiftly threaded our high-end suppressors onto our threaded barrels, intending to draw as little enemy attention as possible inside the confusing, echoing chatter of the active battlefield.
Mangled bodies and pools of fresh blood littered the polished floor of the station, consisting of fallen police officers, dead Mad Hatters, and a few unfortunate civilians who had simply been trapped inside during the initial sneak attack.
Thep! Thep! The quiet, muffled cracks of our suppressed pistols cut through the dark lobby the exact millisecond two Mad Hatters gunmen came rushing through the main entryway behind us. Mei swiftly took aim, her body twirling around the corner of a desk in a flawless, fluid Gun-Fu Kata as she delivered two instant head-shots to the animal-masked targets, quietly eliminating the ambushers before they could even register our presence. Mei tightly monitored our rear line, watching my back with absolute precision as I scanned the dim, red-tinted lighting ahead.
The only ambient light left inside the precinct structure came from the large perimeter windows and the battery-powered emergency red lights mounted along the ceiling corridors. Heavy gunfire continued to sound periodically from the rear depths of the station, alluding to a massive, localized shootout deep within the cell blocks.
Mei dropped her arms smoothly after dropping the two men carrying heavy shotguns, leaning close to whisper directly into my ear. "Our 6 o'clock is completely clear."
I offered her a firm nod, silently mapping out the building's floor plan in my head as I made my way toward the two heavy security doors resting at the back of the lobby. The left doorway led straight to the main administrative offices and the detectives' changing rooms where Mary typically worked, while the right doorway led directly to the armory, interrogation rooms, and the main cell lockup.
She and I instantly headed through the right-side door, tracking the direction where the chaotic sounds of battle were currently the most intense. I kept my eyes aggressively scanning all the bodies strewn across the floor, desperately searching for any sign of Mary's clothing, praying that she was still perfectly fine. As long as she survived this massacre, I honestly didn't give a single damn about the rest of the death and blood surrounding me.
Thep! Thep! A masked gunman wearing a grotesque goat head came sprinting blindly out of the right passage, likely heading back to the entrance to secure more reinforcements for his squad, but I instantly targeted his frame, firing twice in a seamless double-tap that tore once into his heart and once straight into his mask. A head shot is never a guaranteed mathematical hit while moving, but a solid heart shot is highly likely to neutralize a target for me, ensuring that one of the two bullets would strike true to end his life.
Mei slid up right next to me, her breathing steady as she whispered our next tactical adjustment. "Cover each-other, and let's take a vest each off a dead officer. Better safe than sorry, I will go first."
I nodded firmly, extending my arms out to point one handgun directly toward our front corridor and the other toward our rear, perfectly ready to pop a cap into any turd who dared to pop out like a bad first-person shooter game.
Fortunately, there were plenty of female officers among the casualties, allowing Mei to rapidly locate a tactical vest suited for her body type and quickly strap the heavy panels tightly over her maid uniform. She then aggressively pulled a larger vest off a fallen male officer, wrapping the straps around my torso and cinching them tight just as Lucy's voice crackled directly into our earpieces.
[SWAT has just arrived and has opened fire on the outside group. The hole you made broke up the Mad Hatters formation and the Officers surrounded them. I see a group of 4 heading into the building, so watch your backs. Also, I have found the Mad Hatters had entered the sewers under the Station and will probably blow a Rabbit-Hole as an escape route to take their leader, so be ready for anything. Also, I have heard nothing about, from, or concerning Mary just yet, so be careful.]
Yeah, the Mad Hatters were notorious across the city for blowing massive structural holes—which they dubbed Rabbit-Holes—to serve as emergency escape routes for their high-stakes getaways. They had pulled off that exact same tactical maneuver during the bloody mall battle, which was where they had originally attempted to kidnap Kim and Ashley. That signature calling card, along with their creepy animal masks, was the exact reason why they called themselves the Mad Hatters, frequently referring to their high-casualty crimes as Tea Parties.
The exact second Mei finished tightening the adjustment straps on my tactical vest, the two of us pivoted on our heels, perfectly prepared for the incoming wave of gunmen.
Bang Bang Bang Bang! Thep! Thep! Thep! Thep! First the four gunmen, seeing the guy they just sent in on the ground dead, just blindly opened fire trying to flush out the shooters, so Mei and I spun around the corner in perfect synchronization, with her kneeling low-firing while I stood and fired directly above her shoulder, allowing her to systematically take out the left two while I managed the right two.
Thep! Thep! Just as the four now very dead animal-masked men were falling heavily to the floor, Mei's sharp eyes spotted another gang member attempting to sneak out from the left-side office space, prompting her to smoothly angle both of her handguns right around my hip line and pump two rapid rounds straight into his chest, which was a damn good thing because one ended up tracking low into a leg shot.
[I just tapped into the Hatters radio channel and they are currently cutting the bars on their bosses cell. So that is where the action is, Rick you know your way there so hurry. They said a group of officers are fighting from the corner near the cells. Also, they are blowing the hole in the Detectives changing room, so avoid that spot till it—]
BOOOOM! A violent, deafening explosion rocked the entire foundation of the precinct, the shockwave rattling through the walls and making everything on the surrounding desks shake violently before Lucy could even finish her warning sentence. The extremely loud blast could easily be heard from outside the station lines, let alone within our enclosed hallway, prompting Mei and I to aggressively rush down the right corridor to completely avoid the flaming blast area.
Thep! Thep! Further down the smoke-filled hallway, I caught sight of two masked gunmen aggressively firing automatic weapons into an open interrogation room, allowing me to smoothly neutralize the two unaware targets from behind before they could even turn their barrels.
The tense voice of a trapped officer instantly yelled out from inside the room, demanding to know our identities. "Who is there?"
"Detective Lee's husband!" I barked back loudly, keeping my eyes fixed down the corridor.
"I am coming out!" A bruised female officer in a standard beat-cop uniform quickly stepped across the threshold the exact moment she heard my reply, followed closely by a frantic-looking man who appeared to be a corporate lawyer and a criminal woman wearing a distinctive red hairband.
The gang woman's eyes went wide as she recognized my frame, speaking in a stunned whisper. "Vice Leader Tang is that you?!"
I offered her a firm, serious nod, gesturing down the corridor to organize their defense. "Yup, and if you are one of mine, pick up those guys' guns, and help the officer and the lawyer stay safe. They are exiting through the Detectives office, so hide in this room for now. And officer, where is my wife?"
The female officer quickly pointed a trembling finger down toward the rear holding cells, delivering the exact news I desperately did not want to hear. "Sargent, Detective Lee, and other detectives had been in the cell-block when the attack happened, so they are all fighting back there. I have been stuck here with them, so..."
I nodded my head firmly, immediately dropping back into a low stealth stride to move forward as Mei kept her barrels locked on our rear perimeter, while behind us, the three individuals quickly closed and securely locked the heavy interrogation door.
Bang Bang Crank! Thud Thud! Mei and I could easily hear the echoes of heavy gunfire followed by the loud, scraping screech of a massive steel cell door being violently wrenched off its hinges and bouncing heavily onto the concrete floor, proving that the Mad Hatters had successfully released their boss from custody.
This deep, interior section of the precinct was exceptionally dark due to the complete lack of external windows, and the eerie, pulsating red glow of the emergency lights wasn't nearly enough to provide solid visibility through the shadows where we could hear frantic shouting matching the voices of a few surviving officers and the aggressive jeers of the gangsters.
Bang Bang! Peeking rapidly around the concrete corner leading into the main cell block, I took in a gruesome sight of many dead officers scattered across the corridor alongside a few masked gangsters pooling in fresh blood, making the slick floor exceptionally dangerous to move on.
[Come on Boss, this way! We got the Rabbit-Hole open, let's go.] One of the masked men yelled through the smoke, guiding his leader forward.
[Ha Ha, I told you Coppers, no cell will hold Big Bear! Now bring those two female Officers as body-shields, and fuck Pineapple those last ass Cops!]
The booming, heavy voice of the boss roared in response, laughing maniacally as he issued his brutal commands.
[FIRE IN THE HOLE!]
Boom! The unmistakable, sharp detonation of a fragmentation grenade tore through the corridor, the violent blast wave slamming against our cover as the agonizing screams of a few men and a woman echoed through the hall, their defensive line completely finished off by the raw force of the explosion.
A massive column of thick dust and gray smoke billowed up into the air down the hallway, and in the dim, pulsating red emergency light, it was incredibly difficult to make out the exact silhouettes of the men moving rapidly down the distant T-intersection, but the moment Mei and I spotted the distinct shapes of animal masks emerging through the haze, we simultaneously raised our weapons and opened fire.
Thep Thep Thep Thep! Thep Thep Thep Thep!
After about five of their gang members fell in pools of blood, the remaining Mad Hatters got smart, aggressively pulling two female officers in front of their frames as human shields while firing back at us. In the dim, pulsating red emergency light, I could not tell who the female officers were, leaving me completely unsure if I could accurately shoot without killing a hostage.
Bang Bang Bang!
Mei and I each dived to our own separate corners, splitting our positions up as a heavy volley of incoming lead tore through the corridor, and I heard Mei cry out in sharp pain from the opposite wall. "Fuck! I am fine, it was just a vest shot!" she growled, her voice tight but stable as the heavy ceramic armor plate successfully absorbed the impact.
Bang Bang!
A absolute giant of a man was holding a black-haired officer tightly by her neck with his left arm, using her as a human shield while blindly shooting down the corridor with a heavy handgun in his right. "Use that woman as a shield, and hold off those two!" Big Bear yelled to his remaining men, his booming voice echoing off the concrete walls. "I am escaping right now, good luck. For the Mad Hatter!"
I could not get a good look at the faces of the two female officers in the haze, leaving me completely torn on which group to pursue to ensure Mary's survival.
Bang Bang!
Mei ducked as a couple of stray bullets chipped the concrete near her head, instantly locking eyes with me across the gap. "The Boss is going to the Hole from the back of the Precinct, can I go follow him while you handle this situation?" she asked rapidly, her barrels tracking the gunmen.
As the incoming shots noticeably slowed down to account for the gangsters probably reloading their weapons, I shook my head firmly side to side to signal no, refusing to let her go alone, and charged straight down the hall while screaming at the top of my lungs. "LEEEEROOOY JENKINS!"
Bang! Thep Thep Thep Thep!
As I recklessly charged through the open line of fire, the closing distance gave me a much better view of the thoroughly surprised men and a terrified officer with distinct reddish hair. My Master level Acrobatics and Gun-Fu reflexes synchronized perfectly, allowing me to carefully avoid hitting the woman while my suppressed pistols systematically executed all three of the gunmen left behind to block my path.
Mei ran up right behind me, her twin barrels actively panning in both directions to look for any hidden threats while I aggressively grabbed the redhead officer's shoulder. "Where is Detective Lee?!" I demanded, my chest heaving.
The woman, shivering in a state of severe shock, shook her head frantically as she tried to form words. "I-I don't know, I am part of the transport team that was brought here to pick up Big Bear today."
I immediately ignored the useless woman, aggressively scanning the blood-spluttered area only to find that Mary's body was nowhere to be seen among the casualties. My eyes quickly darted down to find the precinct Sergeant leaning heavily against the solitary confinement door—a massive, reinforced solid metal door with zero bars, explicitly engineered to hold the most dangerous tier of underworld criminals.
I sprinted straight over to his slumped form, dropping to my knees to rapidly examine his physical condition. "Hey, look at me! Where are they?!" I urged, knowing he was the only one who could give me answers.
It seemed the Sergeant had been fighting desperately from this specific side of the cell block, having suffered severe gunshot wounds to both his leg and his arm. Someone had hastily wrapped clean cloth around his bullet entry points to slow the bleeding, but he had ultimately passed out cold from massive blood loss. He was still alive for now, but sadly he was of absolutely no help to me in this unconscious state, prompting me to gently lay him flat on his back to keep his heart level with his wounds so the blood flow wouldn't accelerate.
With only the redhead officer and the unconscious Sergeant left alive in the immediate corridor, I turned a deadly serious gaze toward my maid. "Let's go Mei, after Big Bear. He must have Mary!"
Without wasting another second, both Mei and I sprinted down the adjoining hallway, following the messy trail of destruction left behind by Boss Bear.
The exact second Mei and I vanished around the far bend, the redhead officer looked around the quiet, body-strewn hallway before scrambling over to the unconscious Sergeant. Her hands fumbled frantically with the heavy keyring attached to his duty belt, selecting the master override key and sliding it straight into the lock of the reinforced solitary confinement prison door.
Thep Thep! Thep Thep!
After systematically killing the two sentinels left behind to guard the rear extraction point, both Mei and I quickly swapped out our spent magazines for fresh ones.
We moved in perfect sync, rapidly climbing down the heavy tactical rope the gangsters had tied to the structural framework to descend straight into the underground rain runoff system. No, this massive tunnel was absolutely no standard sewer line, but rather a large civilian storm drain where all the city's gutter and rain water was delivered directly back into the sea. There were separate, heavy sewer pipes running alongside the walls that carried raw sewage from the city's toilets, but those lines went elsewhere entirely and were strictly placed in this channel for easy maintenance access.
Just like in many classic superhero and spy action movies, the massive underground tunnel was completely arched, featuring two narrow concrete walkways flanking a small, fast-moving river of water flowing toward the coastline. Due to it being the peak of winter, the water level was significantly higher than usual with a constant influx of melting snow and freezing runoff.
Fresh masonry rubble and shattered concrete littered the walkway down here, leftovers from the heavy C4 explosion the gang had used to blast their Rabbit-Hole through the floor above. Then, through the rushing sound of water, the echo of muffled voices drifted down the line. [Boss, I think we are being followed again, make a left here!] one of the henchmen barked through his mask.
The fleeing gangsters had dropped a long trail of glowing chemical sticks along the concrete walkway to guide their escape, allowing me to help Mei down from the rope before we sprinted hard after them.
The exact second I rounded the sharp concrete corner they had taken a left at, my eyes locked onto the massive silhouette of Big Bear holding a struggling woman tightly by her neck in the distance. I instantly raised both of my handguns, targeting the lone henchman helping him navigate the dark tunnels.
Thep Thep!
The suppressed rounds tore through the sidekick's chest, sending his body splashing heavily into the freezing runoff water, which immediately alerted the final man. Big Bear spun around on his heels, raising his heavy handgun and blindly firing automatic rounds back down our walkway.
Bang Bang!
Mei instantly ducked low to the ground to avoid the incoming trajectory, while I used my martial arts awareness to easily predict his wild firing lines, smoothly bobbing and weaving my frame to completely avoid his random shooting. The performance reminded me of how my past father had effortlessly evaded bullets during the bank heist, making it instantly clear that this giant gangster only possessed a Basic tier shooting ability.
"Fuck woman! You are completely useless to me!" Big Bear roared in pure, unadulterated frustration.
Bang! Splash!
Without a single shred of mercy, Big Bear pressed his barrel against the woman's skull and pulled the trigger, casually throwing her lifeless, bleeding body straight into the rushing river of water as my stomach instantly sank to the absolute depths of my core. I could not see her facial features clearly through the dark mist, but she most definitely possessed short, dark-black hair.
Big Bear's slide locked back as he ran completely out of ammunition, prompting him to discard the weapon and charge blindly at me while I stood frozen in a complete, protective daze. I violently threw my own handguns down onto the concrete walkway, charging right back at him with an absolute fury. I didn't want to use bullets anymore; I only wanted to completely destroy this animal's flesh with my bare hands.
Thud! Thud!
Bear unleashed a massive, powerful overhand punch with enough force to shatter concrete, giving me a clear look at his monstrous frame—a six-and-a-half-foot-tall man who looked exactly like a feral, human bear, sporting bright red hair and an incredibly ugly face.
I easily stepped to the absolute side of his trajectory, avoiding the heavy fist entirely before executing a lethal, sweeping low kick that violently sent his massive body crashing flat onto his back.
Stomp! Crunch! Stomp! Crunch!
Before Bear could even begin to comprehend how he had ended up flat on his back, his nervous system register two agonizing, sickening crunches as my boots pulverized both of his kneecaps into fine powder.
Looking up through his blurred vision in the dim red glow of the chemical sticks, he locked eyes with a pair of completely blue, emotionless eyes looking straight down into his soul, a heavy combat boot raised directly over his face before coming down like a piston. "NOOO! I give up! AHHHH!" he screamed, his massive frame shivering in pure terror.
Stomp! Crunch! Stomp! Crunch!
Without leaving him a single shred of physical ability to resist, my boots systematically shattered both of his elbows next, leaving him trapped on the concrete with shattered limbs. I could only think of my childhood days growing up alongside Mary as I systematically removed the threat of this animal, remembering the exact moment I had kissed Mary for the very first time. My foot raised for a fifth time, fully prepared to release the entirety of my inner fury onto this piece of trash.
Slam! Squelch!
Big Bear desperately wanted to scream in absolute agony, but the raw sound was trapped entirely inside his lungs as my heel came down hard between his thighs, turning his manhood into complete, bloody paste.
"Mary and my unborn child, due in April..." I muttered, my voice completely devoid of human warmth as my eyes drifted over to his remaining left ankle before raising my foot for a sixth time.
Stomp! Crunch!
Still thoroughly unsatisfied with this mundane level of physical pain, I aggressively reached down to grab him by his matted red hair, dragging his massive, broken body straight to the water's edge to plunge his face deep into the filthy, freezing runoff water. I watched his broken body flail desperately for oxygen, pulling a massive handful of hair from the back of his scalp to force his face up just long enough to let him scream underwater, ensuring he got a nice mouthful of filthy liquid before pulling him back onto the concrete right before he could faint from the pain.
I could vaguely hear Mei speaking to Lucy through our secure network link in the background, but I completely ignored the chatter, my mind floating in a dark pool of raw emotion. Tormenting this absolute filth wasn't going to miraculously bring my Mary back from the dead, so I simply contemplated my next lethal move, rolling his broken body over on the concrete while gripping a sharp, jagged rock in my right hand.
I leaned down close, pressing the sharp edge against his cheek. "Where exactly is your primary headquarters located in Star City?"
"Sniff... Fuck you, you pathetic Eurasian trash!" Bear spat out through the blood, his single working eye glaring up at me.
Without a single second of hesitation, I slammed the sharp rock straight into his right eye socket, leaving the jagged stone buried deep inside the tissue.
"MOTHERFUCKER! YOU PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT!" Bear shrieked, his massive frame convulsing on the stone as blood poured down his face.
Utilizing my Advanced Medicine skill, I knew to the exact millimeter how far I could push his physical injuries and cause extreme pain without accidentally stopping his heart or killing him immediately. I picked up another heavy, jagged rock from the walkway, hovering it right over his remaining eye. "Where exactly is your primary headquarters located in Star City?"
"xxx Jasper Drive, warehouse number 3!" Bear sobbed frantically, his remaining left eye wide with absolute terror as he stared at the rock. "I swear it on my absolute life! Just stop!"
His working eye watched me bend down with the stone, fully prepared to shove it into his remaining socket anyway, when I suddenly froze completely stiff in absolute shock as a familiar voice chimed through my earpiece.
[Rick, dear, it is me, Mary!] the soft, steady voice purred clearly through the receiver. [I am completely fine! The Sergeant managed to lock me and a few other detectives inside the reinforced solitary confinement cell to protect us from the initial breach! The whole thing is over now, please come back up to me.]
For a split second, I genuinely thought I was suffering from a massive, grief-induced auditory hallucination, until Mei smoothly slid up right behind my back, wrapping her arms tightly around my waist to pull me away from the body. "Leave him, the SWAT police are already coming down the line. Lucy successfully patched Mary's smartphone straight through to our network so you could hear with your own ears that she is perfectly safe. Let's go back up, Master."
Phew! I let out a massive, deep breath of pure relief, looking down at the broken giant who had casually executed a female transport officer just a few moments ago. I turned my head slightly toward Mei. "That fallen woman is still someone's Mary though. I can't just let an animal like him live, right?"
Mei offered me a sweet, devious smile, calmly stepping past my frame over to the crying, broken man before using her boot to effortlessly push his shattered body straight into the fast-moving river current. The heavy flow instantly carried him off down the dark tunnel, tracking after the dead officer he had murdered. Big Bear, even without his severe physical injuries, had absolutely no earthly idea how to swim, which was honestly quite funny. His bloated body was recovered by city maintenance teams several hours later.
"Ufufu, Rick, do you feel much better now?" Mei giggled softly, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. "You were completely going to end his life anyway, and I wanted to personally handle that execution for Mary's sake."
"Thanks, Mei, let's get out of here," I replied, my voice finally returning to normal as I retrieved my pistols from the walkway. "I need to go see Mary right now."
