The new ‘Whip’
They stopped at a rest stop to get showers, because Maelstrom already stunk bad, having their guys and innards across you did not make it any better.
After David got scrubbed down by both Rebecca and Lucy until they were satisfied there was more room in the Van as they sat on his lap, Kiwi still sitting next to David, now having more room to stretch out.
They were driving out of the city, into the 'badlands'. Heading for a familiar burger place.
It took them an hour to get there, but once they were there everyone pilled out and David was the first one in. ''Albert the Man himself! I brought enough people you'll need to feed a small army!''
Albert looked up from the T.V. he had behind the counter, standing up as he grinned. ''David, 'Becca! My two favorite customers, I haven't seen you two in so long, let me get the grill fired up!''
Everyone sat down, David keeping the case with him since he was technically the one that got them this contract.
He says 'Technically' because it was a contract for himself, he had been looking through Arasaka intelligence and info he's stolen, and something interesting was the mechanical heart, making certain sicknesses and diseases a thing of the past, all that nonsense.
So, he added a half a million cash prize and a custom vehicle. Everyone had been willing once they saw the specs of the new transport they would be getting.
Soon someone pulled up into the burger joint's parking lot. David stood up as he went outside, giving the empty case over to the cyborg that looked exactly like a human, who took it from him and with a nod left in their old van.
Falco was out the door instantly as he sprinted across the parking lot to pull open the hood of the new Transport without hesitation.
''Like a mans wet fantasy...'' Falco muttered as he began to examine the engine, everyone else coming out with their burgers to begin inspecting the Transport.
(Without the cop lights of course, and with an extended cab so big fuckers like Maine can feel comfortable lol)
''Damn, things like a fucking tank.'' Maine said as he inspected the heavy-duty tires.
Kiwi spoke up from the inside of the van where she was hooked up to a terminal that pulled out the side of the cab. ''Correction, it IS a tank, the only thing it is missing is the main canon.''
Dorio raised a brow, leaning into the passenger window to look at Kiwi. ''You said 'Main' cannon?''
Kiwi chuckled, just as two large turrets deployed from the side of the Transport, showing off their full range of movement , able to cover the entirety of the Transport with certain parts of the turrets able to crossfire onto something.
Rebecca began to visibly vibrate when they appeared. ''PLEASE TELL ME THERE'S AMMO?!''
''There is, and I know just the place to do some testing on it's... Capabilities.'' David grinned, sliding a portion of the inner wall out that exposed the ammo racks that were fully stocked.
Rebecca kicked off the front bumper, jumping onto the hood before flopping onto the top of the Transport. ''I love it.''
Falco started crying, actually crying as he leaned forward, practically hugging the warm engine block.
Everyone decided to leave him to it for a bit as they continued to explore it, and then they all began to pack into the Transport, Falco rubbing the wheel, much like David rubbed the wheel of Bast.
Maine shook his head chuckling. ''You haven't even told him yet, have you, David?''
''Oh, you mean tell Falco that I planned to give him the Transport?''
Falco's hands gripped at the steering wheel. ''This... This is the nicest thing... Anyone's ever done for me.'' Sniffle
David reached forward from the back, patting Falco's shoulder. Just as he transferred the rights to the Transport to Faclo. ''You deserve it, man, there are times we only survived because you were behind the wheel.''
Falco wiped his eyes, sniffing hard to clear his nose before he settled himself, the Transport roaring up beneath them. ''Then, let me show that I deserve to be behind this wheel.''
To say Falco put the 'Petal to the Metal' would be an understatement.
He rigorously put the Transport through its paces, only seeming to get more and more excited as he found smaller adjustments, personalizing the Transport to their specs.
Everyone got some time on the turrets, but Rebecca quickly became the assigned gunner.
The way she was looking at David as well meant they were most likely going to have sex tonight, so that's a win.
Kiwi enjoyed the tech available in the Transport, the passenger seat was also a portable Netrunning chair, which allowed her to have far better access to the Transports systems, defensive measures, and general support with what she did best.
Pilar was just happy that he could stretch his long legs out now and not bother anyone else, leg room was the real goal here after all.
After Falco broke in the new Transport, they began to head to the party, they has a successful mission after all.
Once they got back into the city they noticed their favorite spot was already too crowded, so instead, they got a ton of liquor, snacks, and food and headed back to base where they all unloaded off.
Once everything was unloaded and everyone began to party. David sat down, using his vidboard to go through more information, using the find section for files he searched Tanaka, a few results instantly came up until David found something interesting, something that made him whistle to get everyone's attention.
''Guys, Pilar shut up!''
Everyone turned to look at him, using the holographic T.V. above to throw the file up.
''I got information that might be worth looking into for our guy Tanaka. Guy gets custom BDs.''
Maine was interested, but the first to ask. ''What does that do for us David?''
''JK, or Jimmy Kurosaki, a well-known BD editor. Guy's work is top shelf. I used to go through someone and sell his BDs in the Academy, Tanaka's now dead kid? He bought them, I heard him always talking about how his Dad did 'Custom'. To get a custom one done, you need to be there in person to do the adjusting.''
Dorio spoke up. ''And? You think it would be that easy?''
''Think about it, if you were a high-profile Arasaka corpo, would you want your goons to know you get your rocks off in these kinds of BDs?''
The realization hit Kiwi first. ''We could get him while he's alone for a custom edit... How do we proceed though?''
Dorio spoke up next, and leaned forward. ''Find out JK's schedule, then kidnap him when he's alone, then we can force him to cooperate with us to get Tanaka alone, once we do that we can grab Tanaka, grab the data in private, and then dump him before we even need to worry about the Saka Ninja's...''
David nodded, Kiwi speaking up. ''Once we get him, we'll need to move quickly, we can keep him under but too long and Arasaka might notice something is wrong,''
Lucy spoke up. ''I'll go in, Kiwi's expertise is better used keeping the jammer up and monitoring signals just in case, and I'm better at cracking Neural Nets.''
Kiwi nodded in response, it was true so she wasn't going to argue, they all got a fair cut anyway.
''David, Kiwi, do the research you can on JK and Tanaka, I'll contact Faraday and let him know of our plan, see how he feels about it... We might be in for another huge payday.''
(Sorry for it being shorter, really tired today for some reason, I'll post a longer chapter after a nap.)
