Bast gets a gun, Fastest Draw in the West

Staying near the table he kept his gun trained on one opening, focusing on other sounds only for Kiwi to pat his shoulder. ''Got it, let's Delta.''

<Kiwi's got the data, let's mo.>

David heard something, it was soft, but he understood the sound well, tossing his gun to the side he shoulder-checked Lucy to the side, moving to Kiwi since she was the furthest away and in the most central spot. ''GET DOWN!''

Just as he tackled Kiwi to the ground, he covered her body with the entirety of his own as suddenly bullets began to blast through the wall, a heavy machine gun ripping through the thin walls with ease as they began to spray through the wall without a care in the world.

Dorio had already pulled both Falco and Rebecca down, her size was larger and she put herself over them as she yelled out.

''IDEAS?!''

''Rebecca, connect to Bast!'' David said, swinging his arm to the side as he threw a piece of wall that had fallen on him across the room towards where the shots were coming from, turning slightly to make sure Lucy was fine.

She looked fine, huddled behind the couch making herself the smallest target she could.

Rebecca connected to Bast, surprised as the engine revved up, also noticing Pilar sprinting down the street towards them the moment he had noticed the HMG fire.

Rebecca, despite the situation, felt all sorts of bothered as she noticed the interface was different... It was a rotational camera with a lock-on mechanism. David had added a gun onto Bast and by the looks of it?

A big fuck off gun.

When she found the man holding the HMG through a window, she aimed center mass and fired, she heard the thunderous boom, one that Falco heard made him look up in confusion, it sounded similar after all.

There was then silence, as something heavy hit the floor a few rooms away.

Silence prevailed as they all began to stand up, Rebecca disconnecting to from Bast as she charge at David, throwing herself at him as she wrapped around him. ''Iloveyouiloveyouiloveyou.''

Falco walked over. ''David, did you steal my gun?''

''Just the idea of it Falco, I promise....'' David raised his hands, a smirk on his face.

Falco's squint meant he wanted more than that so David admitted to the truth.

''As well as making it fully automatic, one fires 'suppressant' rounds, meant to thin out crowds, and the other gun uses explosive rounds much like yours, just more aggressive. Thin out... Bigger crowds, if you catch my drift.''

Falco's lips tightened, his mind wandering to how Bast was now with mounted guns, despite not having him having seen them before. David did it again and in only a week? Damnit.

Falco sighed, he couldn't be mad at David, that sounded cool as hell, patting David's shoulder. ''Just... Let me take her for a spin sometime?''

David nodded. ''I'll let her know you want a date.''

Pilar suddenly busted in, a ton of grenades in hand as he was ready to pull out the pins.

''HOLD ON PILAR! Everything's fine!'' Dorio said, hands raised, it look like mostly flashbangs, and disorienting ones but still, no one wanted that headache for the next few hours.

''Really?... Damn, I had a feeling when I saw David's kick-ass car suddenly have a turret appear, and then when it fired, Whoo! I was just... Hoping, you know? The last job had no action.'' Pilar sighed heavily as he returned the grenades to his jacket...

''Alright, let's clear the place, get anything useful. Maybe we won't have to pay for drinks?'' Dorio said as everyone began to actually tear the place apart, looking for anything useful.

By the time they had finished, they had found some rolls of eddies in a bag, some extra drinks that were unopened. Along with multiple pieces of hardware that they could sell.

It was evening now, the sun barely visible above the buildings as they all packed in and headed to the party place, as they drove they noticed no parking spots, so they had to park a bit far away. Nothing new really, sometimes you were lucky and could pull right in, other times you had to walk.

As they all walked, Pilar took up position next to David, arm over his shoulder and leaning over onto him. ''So how you been Kid? We don't talk much.''

''Been good, staying busy, looking for the next score, just the life.''

Pilar nodded. ''But see, you do that while rooming with two beauties, so what's it like, living the dream?''

''Hair's on my shower wall, I find panties and clothing everywhere. Lucy has a habit of leaving her equipment laying around, and I'm sore if it wasn't a part of her she'd misplace her monowire. Rebecca has completely taken over the guns in the house and 'Allows' us to use them.''

Pilar chuckled, snickering a bit before he nodded. ''That sounds like my sis-.''

Why was the pissing sound so loud? David and Pilar looked over to the source, a guy was standing on a shipping crate, pissing into a barrel that made the sounds of his piss much, much louder.

Pilar moved, barking toward the guy who was pissing. ''Can you keep it down choom?!''

Everyone else looked over, different faces showing up as they all watched the homeless-looking man pee from up there.

Pilar walked over a bit, using his tall frame to glare up to the guy. ''Come on man, why you gotta be pissing on the street?!''

Walking over he pounded onto the side of the cargo container. ''Hey Homie! Playing golf in that barrel!?''

The worst thing to do was to ignore Pilar, even if you punched him, he preferred that then being ignored, so when the man didn't respond, he pulled himself onto the crate and walked up beside the guy and began to berate him.

As the other walked away, David joined them for a few feet before he heard the term 'Chromed your dick?!'

Something in that moment made David have the back of his hairs stand up, whatever the feeling he got caused his senses to go into overdrive as he turned. Drawing his side arm.

Shakey hands, no response to interaction, muttering to himself, all the chrome.

David fired as it all connected, everyone turning around as he did just as the man raised his hand.

The bullet sparked against the mains wrist but it was just far enough that when the launcher appeared, Pilar only lost an ear, stumbling off the side of the container.

David pulled out Ajax in the next moment firing into the mains throat and head as he turned the man into switch cheese, only as he ran forward and leapt onto the crate.

Dumping two shotgun rounds into the mans chest as he destroyed the cybernetic heart inside his chest , keeping his gun trained on him.

Rebecca was the first one to shout as she sprinted over. ''BROTHER?!''

As Rebecca came to Pilar, she pulled him up, noticing that his left ear was clipped but he looked fine, just disoriented from the launcher going off near him and the fall.

The others quickly got there as David kept his gun trained on the guys now dead body, swearing that if it moved a finger, even if it was just the air, he'd dump more rounds into it.

Falco moved in to help Pilar to provide first aid help as Kiwi jumped up onto the crate next to David, checking the body.

Dorio stood with her pistol and shotgun raised in either hand, ready in case anything else happened.

''A cyberpsycho... Pilar's lucky, we may have just almost lost him...''

''Don't mention it... Fuck the cities falling apart, more than usual.'' David sighed as he went to go retrieve his sidearm that he had simply dropped, brushing the dirt off it. He would need to clean it later as he holstered it.

''Let's get Pilar to a doc and get out of her, we'll leave an anonymous tip about a cyberpsycho incident, once they get here they'll be able to confirm.''

''I'll call them, get him into Bast, I'll get to the doc faster,''

David said as he started a call, the soft music playing before it connected.

<David Martinez, I was wondering when you would call.> Samus

<Whereas I would love to be here and kick the shit with you beautiful, I got an incident, just got attacked by a cyberpsycho, but we were able to put him down before anything started.>

There was a heavy sigh over the call before she asked. <Where is it?>

Sending her the coordinates he spoke. <I'll make it up to you, for now, I got to get a friend to a docs.>

They did get Pilar to a doc, and he was fine. Missing an ear, but not something he wasn't alright with, meant he could get a gold ear now too.

Rebecca was upset about the events but was glad her Brother was fine, Falco chose to stay with him just in case as everyone headed back.

Lucy opted to go to bed right away, stripping down until she was naked, flopping onto the bed, and pulling the blanket over her as she got snuggled in deeply. Out not even a few minutes later.

David picked up the clothing and started a load as he took a quick shower and then, as always. While naked he returned to the armory room and began to strip his nue, cleaning the parts and rebuffing it as it got a few scratches from when it hit the floor. Nothing nanites couldn't fix.

He heard Rebecca enter the shower as he began to dismantle the gun, and not ten minutes later he had it put back together after taking his time to clean it, testing how well the slide chambered before he grinned, putting it to the side. Just as Rebecca lifted herself onto the gun table and sat in front of him, only a towel wrapped around her despite being dried from the air vortex the shower had.

''David, can I ask you something?''

David stretched, leaning back against the chair before he nodded. ''Of course, as long as it's not something like the meaning of life.''

Rebecca chuckled softly at the joke before shaking her head. ''No... I just wanted to ask you, have you come to terms... With your Mother?''

David released a breath, not realizing it would be that deep of a conversation. Before he shook his head, taking no time to think about it.

''No, I still think about it, every day, every time I see her urn, every time I pull a trigger,  and every time something like just now happens.''

David sighed. ''I'll come to terms with it eventually, maybe not tonight, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not until I put the people who did that to her into the fucking ground, maybe not ever... But it gets easier, just a little bit with each day, as I grow closer to you and Lucy, as I grow more attached to the life I live around me, as I appreciate each day as I watch the sunrise... It just gets easier.''

Rebecca nodded as she moved, pulling herself into his lap and snuggling into him, David resting his arms around her as he held her to him.

''I was... Scared when I saw Pilar come so close like that, so thank you for being there David... Thank you for being such a good shot.''

He kissed the top of her head, which caused her to look up at him and lean upwards to get another kiss from him, this time on her lips.

She continued to kiss him, again and again as she slowly deepened the kiss. As David began to feel the intensity of the kiss, his dumb monkey brain clicked into place.

He was going to fuck her on the gun table, possibly the most romantic place to do it for her.
