Chapter 104. Roleplaying?
Succubi Chapter 104. Roleplaying?
I stood there for a second like an idiot, blinking. My system lagged. My brain still buffering. The words replayed in my head like a cursed echo.
‘Thanks for not pulling your hand away.’
I mean, what was I supposed to say? “No problem, would grope again”?
No.
No, that was Leon’s level of tact.
I shook my head, exhaled, and turned toward Arcana Hall before anyone else could sneak in a surprise intimacy speedrun.
Inside the hall, it was quieter than usual.
The Arcana classrooms always smelled faintly like old scrolls, spell chalk, and burned ozone, like someone had tried to microwave a thunderstorm. There were floating lights, glowing runes etched into the walls pulsing in time with the mana field, and an unsettling noise that always sounded like whispering books trying to gossip.
Normally, the first half of the day was a big joint lecture. All the houses together in a giant shared theory room before splitting off post-lunch.
But today?
They’d separated us from the start.
No Leon. No Evelyn. No casual cross-house banter or passive-aggressive tension between the Valor meatheads and the Saint drama club.
Just Arcana kids.
I stepped in, gave a nod to a few familiar faces, and slid into my usual seat, second row from the back, by the window. Natural light. Exit access. Good for naps and strategic retreats.
And sitting beside me?
Adrian.
My classmate. Fellow Arcana. Normally chill, occasionally sarcastic, always dependable with mana theory answers.
But today?
He looked like someone drop-kicked his soul out of his body and replaced it with sad violin music and existential dread.
I blinked. “Morning,” I said casually, dropping my bag onto the desk. “You good?”
Adrian turned his head slowly. Real slow. Like an anime character about to monologue after watching their lover die tragically.
His eyes were hollow.
Hollow.
Like the void.
Like someone just stole his favorite waifu figurine and told him Christmas was a capitalist scam in the same breath.
“…Morning, Evan,” he said, voice brittle. Smile tight. Like it hurt to exist.
I squinted. “What the hell happened to you?”
He turned away again. Slowly. Staring blankly at the podium.
Not blinking.
I leaned a little closer and tapped his shoulder. “Bro. You good? Need a mana supplement? Healing crystal? Hug?”
He overlapped my hand with his own.
Gently.
Then removed it.
Like I was his toxic ex who just crawled back after cheating with his hot cousin.
And then he looked away with that expression.
That painful, slow-suffering, soap-opera face like he was trying to win a best actor award on a cursed romance reality show.
I cringed. “Uh…”
He raised one hand into the air, still not looking at me.
“I don’t need your sorry, Evan,” he said, voice full of betrayal and piano music that only existed in emotional tragic romance dramas.
I cringed worse.
“Sorry for what?” I whispered. “I didn’t even do anything—”
“Don’t,” he said, cutting me off like I was the villain who just tried to gaslight him.
I stared at him, baffled. “Did you eat moldy bread this morning?”
No response.
“Accidentally drink a hallucination potion?”
Still blank.
“Too much late-night romance drama again?”
Nothing.
“…Roleplaying?”
Finally, he turned his head again. His eyes narrowed.
“Lilith,” he whispered.
My brain paused.
He said her name like it was a sacred curse. Like the mention of her triggered his trauma response. Like the sheer idea of her was enough to destabilize his fragile mortal heart.
“I saw,” he continued, voice sharp with envy and sorrow. “I saw what she did to you yesterday.”
“…What did she do to me yesterday?” I asked slowly, scanning my memories. “You mean… talk?”
“She cared, Evan,” he said, a little louder now. “All her attention was on you. She held your cheek like you were a fragile prince from a tragic backstory. She leaned close. She… she mothered you.”
I blinked.
“Dude, she’s my dorm mom. That’s literally her job.”
“YOU LIVE IN HER DORM,” Adrian hissed, grabbing my arm now like I was the chosen one and he was about to send me on a deadly quest. “An all-girl dorm! With her!”
I cringed again. “Bro, chill. You’re too loud—”
“You live… with Lilith.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “Mega MILF dorm mother Lilith. Do you even realize how lucky you are? That’s not just a dorm. That’s paradise wrapped in lace and temptation.”
I sighed. “She’s terrifying.”
“She’s perfection,” Adrian corrected.
Then his expression turned serious. Suspicious.
He leaned closer.
Narrowed his eyes.
“Now tell me, Evan,” he whispered. “What has she done to you?”
I blinked. “What?”
“Did she… pamper you when you were hurt yesterday?”
“…No?”
“Did she read you a bedtime story?”
“Why would she do that?!”
“Did she kiss you on the forehead before sleep?”
“Absolutely not!”
“Did she… spoon-feed you soup while calling you ‘darling’?”
My soul left my body for a second.
“Bro. No. Stop.”
He leaned even closer. “Did you ever peek while she showered?”
“WHAT? NO! Are you insane?! I’d be exiled— killed!”
“But you thought about it, right?”
“NO!”
“…Lilith’s bra,” he said dreamily, like a prayer. “Did you ever… smell it?”
I recoiled. “WHAT THE F IS WRONG WITH YOU?!”
He clutched his chest like I’d just denied his religion.
“You’re wasting this opportunity,” he muttered. “Squandering God’s greatest blessing.”
“She’s my dorm mom!”
“Exactly!”
I slammed my forehead on the desk. “Please let this day end early.”
He patted my back like I was the unreasonable one.
“You have the golden ticket, my friend,” he whispered solemnly. “And all I have… is imagination.”
“Keep imagining,” I groaned. “That’s the closest you’ll ever get.”
Adrian didn’t even flinch. He just gave me that broken, wistful stare again, like a romantic protagonist standing in the rain with a bouquet and abandonment issues.
Then, he grabbed me.
Both hands. Clutching my arm like a man possessed.
“Okay, but at least,” he said, breath hitching like this was life or death, “at least give me her size.”
I stared at him. I cringed. “Bro…”
“Don’t tell me,” he said quickly, eyes pleading. “Don’t tell me you don’t know her size. You live there, Evan. With her. You have to know.”
I sighed. “Yeah. I do.”
“You DO?!” His whole body jolted. “You know her size?!”
“You’re the one who asked,” I muttered, trying to shake him off.
