[A Duodecade Of Nomadic Journey] – The Premonition of Yü-Ti – A Calamity Averted

Lei Kung walked towards the bustling heart of the city. As he strolled through the busy streets, people who recognized him bowed their heads in reverence, acknowledging his presence with a polite nod.

Undeterred by the constant attention, Lei Kung continued on his way, his eyes focused on a specific direction. He weaved through the crowded pathways until he finally arrived at the entrance of the sacred temple belonging to the revered Order of the Crane Mother.

The temple stood tall and proud, with every inch of its exterior adorned with intricate carvings and detailed architecture that told the story of the Order of the Crane Mother.

It was a testament to the rich history and culture of the clans and families that make up the Order. Vibrant banners and flags fluttered in the wind, each one bearing the unique symbols and colors of the different groups. The sight was a stunning display of the diversity and unity that existed within the Order of the Crane Mother.

Lei Kung was not surprised when the guards at the entrance tensed at his approach. They were merely doing their duty to safeguard the sanctity of the temple. He strode past them and into the compound, where he took in the sights and sounds of the temple. A sense of calm and reverence washed over him as he made his way through the halls. The intricate tapestries hanging from the walls told the stories of the Order's history and traditions, while the smooth stones beneath his feet held the weight of countless years of worship.

As he approached the main hall, Lei Kung glanced around. The high, vaulted ceiling gave the room an air of majesty, while the altar at the far end was a testament to the faith and devotion of the Order's followers. The offerings of food, incense, and flowers were arranged in careful harmony, while the candles cast a warm glow over the sacred space.

As Lei Kung stepped out of the main hall, the sound of clashing swords and the rustling of swift movements filled his ears. He followed the source of the commotion to the temple courtyard, where members of the Order of the Crane Mother were engaging in intense martial arts training. The warriors were fully focused on their movements, executing swift kicks and punches with precision and grace. Some were practicing alone, while others were sparring in groups, testing each other's abilities and honing their combat skills. It was evident that they were determined to be prepared for any potential danger that may threaten their peaceful existence.

Lei Kung treaded softly as he made his way towards a concealed stairway within the temple. He had been to this chamber many times before, but the thrill of the secrecy and the importance of the meeting he was about to attend never failed to excite him. After descending the stairway, he entered a spacious and circular chamber, which was known as the Chamber of the Conclave.

The chamber was an architectural masterpiece, with a towering, domed ceiling that was decorated with detailed carvings and frescoes that depicted the mythology and history of K'un-Lun. The walls were adorned with stunning murals that narrated the stories of the Order's victories and legends. At the center of the room, there was an enormous circular table, which was crafted from exquisite, polished wood. The table was surrounded by intricately carved chairs, each assigned to a specific member of the Order, including Lei Kung himself.

As he took his seat on one of the intricately carved chairs surrounding the polished wood table at the room's center, his eyes met with Yü-Ti's who looked at him with a mixture of anticipation and apprehension.

Lei Kung cleared his throat, his gaze shifting briefly to the other members of the Order before settling back on Yü-Ti. "He has arrived," he finally said, his words carrying the weight of an important announcement. A collective sigh of relief echoed around the table as the other members looked at Yü-Ti, waiting for his reaction.

Yü-Ti leaned back in his chair and let out a sigh of relief. He took a moment to calm his trembling hands before addressing the group, "We have managed to avert a major calamity." Everyone around the table, except Lei Kung, looked at Yü-Ti with confusion, wondering what he was talking about. They eagerly waited for an explanation.

Yü-Ti spoke in a grave tone, his voice filled with a sense of urgency, "I have been plagued by a recurring nightmare. In this dream, I see a man with black hair and piercing blue eyes arriving at our gate. He looks at me as if he knows everything about me, even my deepest secrets. And he repeats the same sentence every time, 'I have journeyed from far and wide in search of the entrance to K'un-Lun. Please, let me pass.'"

The members of the Order listened intently, their faces reflecting their concern. Yü-Ti continued, "Naturally, I refused to let him pass. But every time I did, I saw K'un-Lun being attacked by Chiantang, the brother of the Dragon King." The gravity of his words hung heavy in the air, and the members around the table were taken aback by the revelation.

Yü-Ti spoke with a tremble in his voice, his eyes conveying a deep sense of fear and urgency. "Chiantang would go on to massacre every person of K'un-Lun and we would fail to stop him," he said, his words sending a chill down the spines of those present. "During his act of destruction, I would always find myself lying at the gate, battered and dying. And as I would look through the gate, I would always see the same man standing behind it, looking at me with a face devoid of any expression."

There was a tense silence in the chamber as Yü-Ti's words hung in the air. "And I would say, 'Please, help us, save us.' But he would simply stare at me with those piercing blue eyes and without uttering a word, walk away."

Yü-Ti hesitated for a moment before speaking, "I had been troubled by the same recurring dream for days, but it was Lei Kung's sharp observation that led me to share it with the group."

All eyes turned to Lei Kung as he cleared his throat and spoke with authority, "As many of you may have guessed, there is a clear message behind Yü-Ti's dream. And that message is this," he held up his finger, emphasizing his point, "Do not deny entry to the mysterious man who seeks to enter K'un-Lun."
