The next day,

Val and Peggy made their way to the horse racetrack that Wilkes had recommended to them. They approached the bustling venue, filled with people eagerly waiting to watch the horses race. In the crowd, they spotted Calvin sitting alone on a bench, with a stunning blonde woman by his side. It was none other than Whitney Frost, his wife.

Val and Peggy approached Calvin and his wife, their official badges glinted in the sunlight, catching Calvin's attention. The two agents wasted no time in getting straight to the point, questioning Calvin about his knowledge of Jane Scott. But despite their best efforts, Calvin remained stoically silent, refusing to divulge any information.

Frustrated and with no further leads, Val and Peggy pressed on when Calvin suddenly sprang into action. He called over his guards, instructing them to forcibly remove the agents from the racetrack.

As Val and Peggy were escorted away, Calvin breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to his wife, only to be met with a cold, hard stare. Her piercing eyes seemed to bore into his soul, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He wiped the sweat from his brow, feeling exposed and vulnerable under her intense gaze.

When Peggy and Val stepped out of the horse racetrack, they couldn't help but feel frustrated by their lack of progress. The sun beat down on them mercilessly, adding to their sense of defeat.

Val turned to Peggy, his face creased in concern. "Did you see the way Whitney was looking at me when I asked about a possible sexual relationship between Calvin and Jane Scott?" she asked.

Peggy nodded thoughtfully, her eyes narrowing in contemplation. "Yes, I did. The way she glared at us was a dead giveaway. It's clear that she knows something, and she's not willing to let it go."

Val's eyes narrowed as he recalled the scene at the racetrack. "Did you see how tightly Whitney was gripping Calvin's knee?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern. "It's clear that she was not pleased to see us there."

Peggy nodded in agreement, her mind racing with possibilities. "It's not just that," she said. "Calvin's fearful expression and constant glances in Whitney's direction suggest that she has some sort of control over him."

Val leaned in, his eyes bright with excitement. "There's more," he said. "Whitney Frost isn't her real name. It's Agnes Culley, and she's a brilliant scientist."

Peggy's eyes widened in surprise as she processed the information. "So let me get this straight," she said. "Calvin's wife is a scientist, and his mistress was also a scientist. What if Whitney did something during an experiment that killed Jane Scott, and then blamed it on the experiment?"

Val's expression turned thoughtful as he considered the theory. "It's definitely a possibility," he said, impressed by Peggy's deductive skills. "It's clear that there's more to this case than meets the eye, and we need to dig deeper if we want to uncover the truth."

Meanwhile, Andrew Henry's heart was pounding in his chest as he arrived at the imposing Los Angeles County Coroner Building. His mind was racing as he made his way inside and sought out the medical examiner's office.

As he approached the office of Dr. Meltzer, Andrew could feel the weight of his guilt bearing down on him. He knew that he had come here to steal the autopsy report to cover up his involvement in hiding Jane Scott's body.

When Andrew Henry pushed open the door to Dr. Meltzer's office, a chill ran down his spine, and he shivered involuntarily. He rubbed his palms together, trying to warm them, but the cold seemed to seep into his bones.

Suddenly, he coughed, and he saw his breath turn into small ice particles, sending a shiver down his spine. He looked around nervously, wondering if anyone was watching him. But the room was silent, and the only sound was the soft hum of the air conditioner.

As Andrew walked towards Dr. Meltzer's desk, he froze in his tracks. The medical examiner's body was lying on the floor, lifeless. The same glowing skin and black marks that he had seen on Jane Scott's body were all over Meltzer's body too.

His heart pounding in his chest, Andrew lightly tapped the body with the tip of his finger, and to his horror, Meltzer's body broke into pieces like ice. He stumbled back in shock, his mind racing with fear and confusion.

Terrified and disoriented, Andrew quickly exited the coroner's building, his thoughts consumed with the horrific scene he had just witnessed.

Meanwhile, Val and Peggy were sitting in her living room, discussing their next move.

Suddenly, the shrill ring of the telephone shattered the silence. Peggy quickly picked up the receiver and listened intently for a few seconds before placing it back in its cradle.

Turning to Val, Peggy's eyes sparkled with excitement as she relayed the news, "Sousa just called. The autopsy report on Jane Scott is finally complete."

Val sprang into action, grabbing his coat and throwing Peggy's coat to her. She deftly caught it, her eyes alight with anticipation. "Well then," Val said, a sly grin crossing his face, "let's find out what caused Jane Scott's body to glow, shall we?"

Sometime later, Val, Peggy, and Sousa stood in shock as they entered Meltzer's office and found his body shattered into tiny fragments of ice. As they carefully searched the room for the autopsy report, Peggy spotted it on Meltzer's desk.

Peggy picked up the report and began scanning through it. "Wait a minute," she exclaimed. "According to this report, Jane's chest was stabbed multiple times after her death. And her shoes were switched, just like in that old case."

Val's eyes widened in realization. "That's Henry's MO. He did it to cover his tracks."

Sousa nodded in agreement. "Let's find him before he does any more damage."

As they hurried out of the building, Peggy reached for her phone to call for backup. "We need to put out an APB on Henry," she said urgently. "He's dangerous and he's on the run."

Val and Sousa rushed to their cars, determined to catch Henry before he could harm anyone else.
