Liam Versus Kaido Part 2
"You hurt me?"
Kaido's face was full of disbelief. It was normal. How could someone hurt him?
He was immortal. He was the strongest creature in this world.
Even if all three Admirals attacked him, they could only defeat him, not kill him.
Even natural disasters shouldn't have the power to kill. Even if he were weakened, he wouldn't die.
That was the power of Kaido. That was the nature of the beast.
But at this moment, he didn't just get injured. He was hurt.
He felt pain. He screamed.
For a minute, Kaido didn't understand anything. He couldn't wrap his head around the fact that he screamed.
But as his mind cleared, he realized Liam's sword was still touching his wound. He raised his broken mace and tried to strike Liam.
This time, Liam didn't try to trade for injuries. He used Shave and retreated several hundred meters away from Kaido.
'My Observation Haki is still working. Even in this condition, I need to keep my mind calm. At that moment, I almost lost myself in anger.'
'But'
Liam thought to himself as he stared at his sword.
In a fit of rage, he had done something impossible. He created flames from his devil fruit.
But that shouldn't be possible. Because his devil fruit was solely related to Gambles.
Unless he hadn't truly understood the power of his devil fruit.
That flame shouldn't have appeared. Normally, he could generate flames. He could speed up his blood flow and control it and pressurize it with Haki, igniting it with Oxygen to become Fireman.
But this was different. It came out of his body like an extension of him. That should only apply to devil fruits.
He knew this because he was a devil fruit user.
Unfortunately, he didn't get time to think about it. His Observation Haki triggered and gave him the future vision.
This time, Kaido was coming towards him in his Dragon Form. Dragon Kaido opened its mouth and released a powerful blast of fire.
[Hot Breath]
A powerful blast of fire moved toward him, increasing the temperature of the air by several times.
Liam raised his hand and slashed forward. The red and black lightning turned into a sword slash.
Boom!
The sword slash sliced the fire in half, making it explode in mid-air. But of course, this was just a distraction.
Kaido, in his human-beast form, rushed from the side and appeared next to Liam while swinging his mace.
Liam's expression changed drastically because this scene didn't appear in his Observation, which made him completely defenseless.
But he was a prominent fighter after all. He quickly thrust the sword to the ground and pulled out a massive chunk of the island into the air.
Bang!
Kaido also didn't expect this move. When he saw this rock, he had no choice but to smash it with his mace.
Unfortunately, it didn't break down so easily.
This island was almost transformed by their battle, especially Luffy's Supernova.
This turned the island into a molten ground. Because of this, the ground itself had a fluid-like texture and high temperature.
Because of their insane strength, Liam, Luffy, and Kaido weren't affected by this temperature, but it still existed nonetheless.
"Tch!"
Kaido swung his mace once again, creating a powerful gust of wind that tore through the rock.
But by this time, Liam had already left the scene. He wasn't an idiot to fight Kaido head-on.
He had already made several mistakes before.
He assumed that Kaido could only use fifty percent of his strength in normal form, but he was wrong.
Even in his normal form, his strength could increase up to eighty percent. That was the rough estimation he could come up with based on his experience.
Because if this previous strength was fifty percent, then his strength was at least increased by another thirty percent, which is almost two-thirds.
This created a major gap in power between him and Kaido.
Liam deeply understood this from Kaido's previous attack. While his Observation Haki sensed Kaido's Hot Breath, it didn't sense his sneak attack.
It would've seen it if he had focused longer, but in this kind of battle, he needed to use multiple types of Haki simultaneously.
But this also gave him an understanding of Kaido.
Since Kaido wasn't able to see his counterattack coming, his Observation Haki wasn't that strong, either.
More importantly, Kaido could also launch sneak attacks. That meant Kaido was getting serious here.
Thinking of it, Liam, who had retreated to the other side of the island, took a deep breath and muttered.
"Let's try this."
He couldn't conjure the flames like he did before, but he could enter Fire Demon Mode.
[Fire Demon Mode]
This time, it was going to be a bit different. Because of his previous attack, he got an inspiration for a new mode.
[Burning Sword God]
When he entered this mode, his body started burning just like normal Fire Demon Mode.
But it was clearly more than that. Instead of the flames burning on his body, it started to concentrate on his sword.
The Armament Haki started guiding flames into his sword just like normal Infusing Haki into Weapons.
This time, it was flames, and they were turning his sword red.
"Wororor! Are you hiding now, boy?"
Kaido's laughter came from the sky. When Liam raised his head, he saw a massive dragon coming towards him.
But just as he moved, Kaido turned into his humanoid form and rushed from the sky with his mace.
The purple lightning from the sky struck his mace, and combined with dark red lightning, it created a powerful distortion in the air.
[Coming of Ragnorok, Divine Punishment of Thor]
Kaido's attack contained so much lightning that it was shaking the island with lightning bolts.
Not only that, his attack was so fast that if Liam tried to dodge it, he would be caught in the aftermath.
Which meant he had no choice but to fight back. And that's exactly what he did.
Liam stomped his foot on the ground and dashed toward Kaido. Both met in mid-air.
Their weapons moved towards each other.
A mace covered in lightning and a sword that turned red.
The flames rose from the sword, and lightning roared out of the mace. A powerful black lightning bolt emerged between them, blocking them from touching each other.
"Roar!"
Kaido and Liam let out a cry at the same time as they exerted even more force in their hands.
Kaido's inhumane strength was giving him an edge, but Liam's Fire Demon Mode increased his strength by several times, giving him a chance to fight back.
Their collision shifted the atmosphere, creating a shockwave that moved several miles away from the island.
The sea level rose, and hurricanes formed, but these two didn't care.
Their sole focus was on their weapons.
Kaido's lightning had a very high temperature, but Liam's sword was hotter. It was burning his lightning, melting the layer of Armament Haki on the mace.
And it hadn't even touched that mace.
Kaido saw this. He knew if that sword touched his mace, it would literally melt his mace.
Suddenly, a malicious smile appeared on his face. At this moment, a purple aura emerged from his body, and an even stronger Armament Haki reinforced his mace.
"Boy, you are too weak."
Kaido roared and exerted even greater strength. The balance was broken. His mace broke through their Conqueror Collision and smashed against Liam's sword.
With their collision, they created so much energy that it turned into a powerful explosion.
For Kaido, this level of explosion was nothing, but for Liam, it wasn't good.
He had been severely injured several times, and if this kept going, he would die from his injuries.
Boom!
The explosion was soon followed by a powerful shockwave. Liam let the shockwave send him flying as his body crossed the island and fell toward the sea.
Splash! Whoosh!
As soon as his body touched the sea, the sea started bubbling, and his body started to feel weak.
Suddenly, a hand caught him and pulled him out of the water. This was none other than Luffy, who was recovering from his previous attack.
He had fully recovered and even saved some food for Liam.
Using Geppo, he was basically standing on air.
"Liam, it's my turn now. Get some rest." Luffy said as he dashed toward the edge of the island and landed with Liam.
At this moment, Liam's body was really hot. If Luffy hadn't recovered from the previous Supernova, his body wouldn't have adapted to this level of heat.
More importantly, Luffy's strength only increased because he had figured out that there was even more powerful strength within him, which made his expression even more determined.
That determination. Liam knew this very well. He couldn't help but chuckle and asked.
"Hey, Captain, if you do this now, you know what it means, right?"
"Yeah, you call it bullying elderly people." Luffy nodded.
The next moment, Liam burst into laughter and said.
"Well said, Captain! Let's just keep bullying him."
