74 – Shunam! (III)
—————————
PART 1 – Investigation! (I)
—————————
With everyone asleep and Yago sure of it, he got up and used his techniques to keep everyone asleep. Then his gaze fell on the elderly man sleeping on one of the mattresses built into the floor.
He looked exhausted and satisfied, Yago didn't think and advanced, grabbing his throat, he woke up abruptly, touching his temple, electricity surged and Maurus' body spasmed vigorously, before his gaze became empty.
With that, Yago pulled out the armchair and sat down, watching the now kneeling Maurus. - “There's been a sudden increase in cases of disappearance, mainly of traveling adventurers, what do you know about that?”
“These disappearances have been reported and some special investigators from the empire have come. I contributed to the investigations, but one day a few months ago it stopped.” - Maurus said calmly.
“The Fire Mages who came here for their magical studies, did they leave at the same time?”
“Yes, the disappearances decreased to a normal rate about two weeks after they left.”
“Do you think it's related?”
“There's no sign of it. The disappearances began before the Fire Mages arrived in my city. The investigators looked into them and came back with no answers.”
“Where are the investigators now?”
“With the disappearances over, they stayed for a few days before being sent elsewhere. I don't know what they're looking for, but I know they went to the road to the south, but after that I don't know anything else.”
“Where did the Fire Mages go after they left Mist City?”
“They also went south, more specifically to Raven City, I heard they've been there ever since, under the care of Viscount Krullo.”
Yago nodded, then asked. - “Have you ever had sex with children under the age of 14?”
“Yes.”
Veins popped out of Yago's jaw. - “Which younger child did you take to bed?”
“I don't remember, but I think I was between 8 and 9.”
Yago's fists clenched, but smiling coolly he said. - “Okay, you can go back to sleep.” - His palm touched Maurus' forehead and put him to sleep, but not without first touching his chest and injecting energy into his heart.
Assessing his physical state, age, health and so on, he knew the exact amount of energy to store in his heart, to make it look like a steaming heart attack.
He will make you feel pain, because something he hates and despises are pedophiles. In this world, unfortunately, there are no laws that make such an act criminal, because sex is ingrained and children already have contact with such things from a very young age.
Like Skarla, she has put in place as many laws as possible to protect the children in her territory, demonizing such acts as much as possible and having zero tolerance. Of the cases that were discovered, she gave extreme punishment, which made everyone understand that Skarla loves children and protects them. Naturally, she used medicine and science to show the dangers of impregnating girls too young and various other developmental problems.
In other words, she said that adult dicks should be used on adults, adult pussies should be used on adults. And the minimum age to be considered an adult is 16, below that we have 12~15 as adolescents and below 12 are children.
In any case, Maurus is something Yago despises, even though it was fun to deflower all the precious girls in his life, to humiliate him and he knows that after today, these women will hardly settle for anything ordinary or above average.
But he doesn't care and he just did it.
......
As soon as dawn broke, Yago and his companions had everything ready. Maurus tried to insist that they stay a few more days, he was very excited and wanted this night to happen again.
And showing this, his daughters and wives were surrounding Maurus like flies around meat. Tatianna was the boldest, sitting on his lap, feeding him so lovingly and saying all sorts of nice words to keep him.
In the end, Yago and his companions practically fled the scene to their displeasure. Most would stay, because it's good food and the opportunity to fuck noblewomen and humiliate a nobleman.
Many adventurers who receive such treatment tend to stay for a few weeks. But as Yago and his companions had to level up and complete various missions to increase their fame, there was no way they could afford to waste weeks here.
In the end, they had to see them off, Maurus sighing in disappointment, but the evening had been wonderful, etched in his mind and on his devices. The whole room is surrounded by devices that record images, but it's a state-of-the-art one.
Maurus arrived in a small room and activated the device, soon the environment expanded and sitting in his armchair, he visualized the room and everyone in it, Yago, his daughters and wives.
He was able to experience this as many times as he wanted. Tatianna accompanied him, and together they watched as Yago destroyed it into a mess. Maurus began to masturbate, his wife soon sitting on him, her eyes only on Yago and that ogre's cock destroying all the women he knew.
Suddenly, her husband started convulsing and clutching his chest. Frightened, she stopped and started screaming, opening the door, horsemen came and rushed him to the doctor.
In the end, Maurus had a massive heart attack and died within seconds. They tried everything, but he was already gone.
—————————
PART 2 – Random!
—————————
“So he presents you with the pussies of his wives and daughters, you present him with a heart attack?” - Luisel laughed. - “I don't see a problem with old nobles dying, but wasn't that too cruel?”
“He touched children. I'm not someone who lets something like that slide.” - Yago said coldly.
“I'm not judging you, don't get me wrong, it's just that having the death of a noble in your care won't be beneficial at all. What if they find out?” - Luisel tried to explain himself in the face of Yago's coldness.
“They won't. My techniques are imperceptible to anyone who isn't at least a Master specialized in sensing changes in energies, something they don't have. Even if they take the corpse for investigation, which is unlikely, the traces I left will disappear within a few days of activation.” - Yago shrugged.
“Stealthy, untraceable assassination, the ability to alter one's body and face, modify one's voice, create sound-suppressing domes, nullify impacts, jump... really, what can't your techniques do?” - Luisel sighed.
“In all my years of research and training, I've never managed to bring someone back to life, but there are records of techniques that allow you to reverse the concept of life and death, but I'm a long way from that.” - Yago said calmly, which was no lie.
The Martial Arts are deep and ancient, the Murim is perhaps as old or older than this world, having had the presence of all kinds of Supreme Masters of the Martial Arts and of course, those categorized as “Immortals” the pinnacle that everyone aims to reach.
“Immortals” in the Murim context are practically Gods, wielding the most powerful and invincible Martial Arts in the world.
And there are historical records of Supreme Masters who were able to control the concepts of life and death, where they could revive people who had just died, restore their bodies, heal any wound or disease, carrying immortal bodies, even though they weren't “Immortals”.
Yago has no idea of the limits of Martial Arts, but as long as she learns the concept and interprets it in her Martial Arts, it will be possible. She herself is trying to understand the “Sacred”, which is very complex without having a faith.
She wants to interpret it in her Martial Arts, because the healing potential and buffs are the best. If she is able to add such buffs naturally to her body, along with her healing, she finds it difficult to have anything able to kill her, even demigods would find it hard to take away half her HP.
“Okay, you've convinced me. I'll agree to be your disciple.” - Luisel snorted, no longer able to resist the idea. As it turned out, she had seen Nayara and Shunam's progress over the last month, they had gotten stronger quickly, their skills had improved significantly and the method they used to fight was unique.
Nayara, who was no match for her, was able to resist her attacks more and cause much more damage. Her [Aura], which transformed into [Internal Energy], was even more powerful and caused serious damage to Luisel.
Knowing that if she didn't have the same energy and let it run wild through her body, she could simply explode. Nayara's attacks practically planted bombs in her body that could explode at any moment.
Luisel understood how helpless she was, so she agreed to go against everything she had learned throughout her life. She also wanted to be strong, but she believed that strength comes with time, not in such a short space of time.
...
Yago returned to her original form as Skarla, she was half-naked, her body changing and she was making sure there were no deformities. She doesn't like to use this, because one slip and she'll never return to her original form.
There are people who used similar techniques, who forgot what their real faces and bodies looked like. Of course, their techniques were far inferior to yours.
Skarla has developed a technique that allows permanent modification of bone and muscle structure, so if she modifies her body, it will be like that forever. Others alter their bodies for certain periods of time, or only by undoing the technique do their bodies and faces return to normal.
But there's no way to undo her technique. As for why she didn't use something of a lower level... she doesn't know.
Skarla developed techniques using science and her hideous studies. She didn't have a base, so she created everything herself and as a result, created this technique that literally allows you to become someone else forever, at no cost, apart from some pain during the process.
And since she didn't understand the method of “deactivating” and “activating” the technique, it turns out that she created the best possible version of the technique, with no way of using inferior versions. Of course, she could work hard and try to create something, but she didn't think of it at the time and her time was short, as for this life, if it wasn't for Shunam, she wouldn't use it.
With the sound of popping resonating, her bone and muscle structure was adjusting to what it was originally, in her mind, Sueika helping her, because she preferred Skarla's body to Yago's.
After a few minutes, Skarla was standing naked and watching her body. The girls were also watching, admitting that Skarla has a magnificent body. - “The proportions seem correct... the energy flow is perfect, everything is in order...” - Skarla moved, punched, kicked...
Noticing that nothing seemed out of the ordinary and picking up a mirror to look at her pretty face, she only noticed that her lips were a little swollen, so she changed that. Satisfied, she went to get her clothes.
“I'm always surprised by your size. Does that have anything to do with your techniques?” - Luisel asked.
“Yes.” - Skarla nodded and it was no lie.
To a certain extent it was genetics, but then it was the combination of Martial Arts purifying the body, strengthening the bloodline and raising the body to the pinnacle, accompanied by the system of this world that raised his attributes to absurd limits.
So the combination of her Martial Arts and her massive amount of attributes has resulted in her having such a large body and one that will probably grow even larger in the future.
And her Martial Arts, which aim for balance, will make her body more aesthetically pleasing and as a result, her penis will grow accordingly.
“So I can have bigger breasts?” - Luisel asked, Skarla looked, thought and answered. - “Of course not.”
“But you said...”
“My penis grows in proportion to my entire physique, the same for my breasts, ass, height and so on, I don't even know the limit of my growth, maybe in a few years, I'll reach 5 meters in height, I don't know.” - Skarla said bitterly, she really has no idea how tall she can become.
“That tall? Will it be the same for us?” - Luisel asked, Nayara and Shunam were surprised.
“I don't think you can do that much, my case is special, because I've literally been practicing my techniques since I was a baby, my body is constantly developing and growing, until you start growing, it will take years, many years and your growth rate will be much lower than mine. At best, you should stop at around 190~210cm.” - Skarla scratched her chin thoughtfully.
“I can settle for something like that. But I'm not going to become a muscular monstrosity, right?” - Luisel narrowed his eyes.
“No. My techniques aim for balance, it just so happens that I'm practicing in such a way that my whole body is constantly evolving, which causes my explosive growth, but you're different. You practice simpler and less drastic techniques, at most it will improve your feminine figures, why do you think Viper, Letiphia, Talya, Ilyria, Calah, Gakai and Hackel, have such excellent physiques?”
“So we'll get prettier as time goes by?” - Luisel's eyes sparkled.
“Yes, the aesthetics of your bodies will improve, the balance will become more perfect and if you reach the stage of metamorphosis, something I'll help you with in the future, you'll be able to have a perfect body.” - Skarla looked at Shunam. - “If you reach Metamorphosis, you'll probably live a normal life or, at the very least, extend your life by another 20 years.”
“But it's not easy. If it were, you would have told me before.” - Shunam narrowed his eyes, pessimistic as ever.
“At a certain point you've fulfilled many requirements, unfortunately you started too late and the time you have left is short. I'm training you to try to achieve it, I'm using the destruction of your body to refine it, but it's a much more complex and delicate process than I expected. I think we're extending your life by a few months, that should give you time to try Metamorphosis, even if we can't find a way to reverse it.” - Skarla was sincere.
The chances are low, but compared to the stage of his wives and disciples, Shunam is the closest to achieving a Metamorphosis, unfortunately she started practicing too late, if she had stayed by his side from the beginning, it would have been possible for her to have already achieved Metamorphosis.
But why didn't she stay by your side? Circumstances.
Back then, Skarla wasn't as soft as she is now, she was colder and disgusted with Shunam, she didn't want her around or waste her precious time with someone destined to die. But now, her children have softened her heart, she has to think about thousands of people, the future and much more, just as she has an agreement with the World and Shunam is part of that agreement.
“Let's not think about it anymore, when the time comes I'll let you know and we'll try our luck, worst case scenario, you die.” - Skarla said seriously.
“I won't get my hopes up, I think that word lost its meaning for me a long time ago.” - Shunam said calmly and stepped back. She may say that, but Skarla realizes that she longs to live, there is still determination in those eyes.
Skarla has planted hope, now it's time to make despair grow. Metamorphosis tends to occur in the midst of despair, but Skarla won't say that, she doesn't want it to fail.

PART 3 – Call!
—————————
The south was the determined route. On the way, they searched for any trace. They had been here before, having come to a village in this region to complete a mission, so when the villagers saw them, they recognized them as saviors.
Yago refused invitations, because in villages, many tend to want the genetics of travelers, especially adventurers. A big, strong “man” like Yago, even if he's scary, is extremely attractive to an entire village.
Men literally queue up for him to impregnate their wives and daughters, just so they can bear a child who is just as strong or close to it. But Yago isn't interested in proliferating his seeds everywhere he goes, or ending the sex lives of various men and women, he is aware of his capabilities and effects.
Returning to Maurus, he didn't care about the repercussions at that moment, he just wanted to have fun and as they are nobles, they have easy methods of reversing such physiological and mental problems.
When they passed through the village, they stayed overnight and left early the next morning.
......
The days began to pass and in less than five days, they finally left the swamps. The weather got better very quickly, the girls moaning with joy at being out of that stuffy, damp environment.
The stench of the swamp was permeating their flesh, but there was a stream nearby and they went there. There were lots of fish, so they caught some to roast, got naked and dived into the water, while Yago, back to being Skarla, did the same.
They removed the stench from their bodies and clothes, and the four of them relaxed. But luck didn't seem to be on their side, as they soon began to hear something from afar and feel presences approaching.
“Do you want to deal with it, or should I?” - Skarla sighed and asked, getting details of who they were approaching.
“This water is so cold and relaxing~ I don't feel like going out.” - Luisel said lazily.
“I can take care of that if you want.” - Nayara stood up.
“I got it.” - Shunam had gotten up earlier and was walking to the edge.
“You can go back, I'll take care of it.” - Skarla yawned and held out a hand, then made an up-and-down movement, then relaxed.
They all looked at each other until they heard the sound of wind slashing and when they looked up, eyes widened at the manifestation of a gigantic brown palm, the screams of those below resounding in sheer terror, followed by massive destruction and tremors.
Skarla yawned as the trio blinked. - “You're a mage and I didn't know?!” - Luisel shouted in shock and gasped.
“Understand something Luisel, a Martial Artist is a warrior who uses nature as their strength, understanding the concepts of everything and incorporating that into their Martial Arts. So if I want to.” - Skarla stopped talking and snapped her finger.
Soon flames exploded and molded themselves into the shape of a beautiful woman, with another snap, the flames became dozens of fireballs that flew around the group, before being fired and wreaking havoc.
“Reach Level 2 of my Martial Arts and you'll be able to get close. Of course, you'll need to train hard, but it's not impossible for you to do the same. I can even teach you how to shoot palms.” - Skarla waved a palm and they all saw its manifestation shoot up and explode on a rock.
“I want to!” - Luisel said without hesitation and Skarla laughed.
......
At a camp near the road, night had already fallen and they were cooking dinner. Skarla was training and meditating, and in the middle of her training, she received a call.
Turning on her artifact. - “Who is it?” - She asked.
[“It's me.”] - Letiphia's voice sounded.
“Hi, sweetheart. How are things on that side?” - Skarla smiled, her mood improving when she heard her voice.
["We're fine. There were some conflicts because you weren't here, but they've been resolved."]
“I'm glad, but you wouldn't call me just to hear my voice, or am I wrong? Please tell me I'm wrong.” - Skarla laughed and teased.
[“You're not wrong, now you can cry, I'll wait a minute.”] - Letiphia mocked on the other end, Skarla laughed. - “Leaving the teasing aside, I've come to report on Viper's actions, which I'm told you ordered.”]
“Yes. I've heard that some groups from the north are attacking our people, so as Viper at the moment is the one who mainly deals with our relations with the north, it would be good for her to instill fear and respect.” - Skarla said nonchalantly.
["Viper led an army alongside King Edric, where she demonstrated her martial arts, the first time we are demonstrating our power to the world. Viper who is a well-known assassin, faced Berserker and Master Warriors, defeating them with extreme ease, mowing down more than 100 barbarians in one combat."]
“Oh, good, I think she's made quite a name for herself.” - Skarla smiled.
["Yes. The people of the north call her the Blood Serpent and the Man Slayer. Her exploits in the war are already spreading and it shouldn't take long for them to reach you. With this battle, as well as consolidating fear in the people of the North through Viper, we also secured many trade agreements and territories."]
“Hummm... good to know, but your voice sounds fearful to me, what's the problem?” - Skarla narrowed her eyes.
["King Edric is making some suspicious moves. Nothing that seems to put Lohan in danger, I don't think he'd have the courage, but I'll keep an eye on him. But my suspicions lie in the fact that they're buying supplies for the war and avoiding giving us details, even when we ask. I sent some shadows to try and find out more and... one of them was murdered."]
Skarla frowned on hearing this, then laughed. - “It seems Edric is letting power go to his head. You have my blessing to send him a message and... send Talya. I've heard that the people of the north fear a giant humanoid creature that lives in the frozen peaks. Tell him to join Viper and Gakai, I want this creature's head stuffed on my wall and... parade with its corpse.”
[“Are you sure? Apparently it's a Legendary Level monster.”]
“They'll be fine, I've seen the monster myself and it is indeed Legendary, but it's not impossible for them to kill. Hummm... send Hackel along, I think she'll be a great help and finally, ban the use of magical tools to make the journey easier. They must train their bodies for the cold and extreme environment. She has 1 month.”
["Okay. Do you think they'll go through that breakthrough you keep talking about? Metamorphosis?"]
“I think it's difficult, but it will be a step.” - Skarla laughed lightly.
Then the conversation moved on to how her children were doing, Skarla smiling, listening to her sons' and daughters' first words, their achievements during her time away.
Skarla longed to be with them, if she could, she would never leave their side, but she has responsibilities and a long way to go to Level 21. She, at least, has many beautiful and loving wives, in that respect, she has won the lottery in wives.
—————————
PART 4 – Raven City!
—————————
Crossing hills, forests and a few villages, they finally reached their destination, Raven City.
The city has a dark atmosphere, which is due to the dense undead energy in the area and not far away, there is the “Open Dungeon” which is nothing more than the “Cemetery of the Walkers”, an area that was a normal cemetery in the past, but which for unknown reasons has become a Dungeon.
Undead appear, levels vary from 1 to 4, with special cases from 5 to 8.
“Open Dungeons are rare and dangerous, as an entire region is transformed into a danger zone that constantly spawns monsters. If it were any other kind of dungeon, anyone nearby would be happy, but they are undead.
Such monsters tend to carry all sorts of diseases, the resources they provide are not of good quality, at best the equipment on their corpses is melted down and reused.
Raven City is not popular, but rather the opposite. No one wants to stay here, for fear of falling ill or getting caught up in a horde of angry undead attacking towns and villages.
Yago and his group arrived in this town and had no trouble getting in, because who would be foolish enough to make trouble with a giant like Yago?
They quickly went in search of an inn. After asking around a bit, they found a place called the “Rotten Kiss”. Not an inviting name, but the interior was cozy.
The group found a table to sit at. A young waiter approached them smiling; even though he was intimidated by Yago, he stood up straight and was very professional. - “What do you want?”
“Bring the best dishes you have, plenty of meat. Also bring what's special in town and some small barrels of your best drink.” - Yago said calmly.
“No problem, but I hope you understand that what we have is quite expensive.” - Said the waiter probingly.
“Do you think I'm poor?” - Yago laughed and slammed a bag of coins on the table, showing the gold glitter mixed with silver. The young waiter swallowed his saliva, apologized and left to get things ready.
Naturally, his display of wealth attracted attention, where a few noticed something. A 2.5 meter tall man, aggressive, he eats a lot, always the best, accompanied by three beautiful women, an elf, a black human and a beastkin.
They soon started talking about the group known as [Yago, The Mountain]. Who had passed through Mist City and carried out all sorts of missions that even Masters would find difficult to complete.
“Hahaha! He's not all that, just a piece of garbage at Level 10!” - A loud voice rang out and a man stinking of rum approached.
Yago and the girls ignored him until he was too close. - “Hey Mountain, you don't look that impressive. Do you think because you've completed a few easy missions that you're something?”
Holding out his hand, he began to poke Yago's shoulder. - “Don't think you're special because your mother fucked some ogre and gave birth to you. The world is giant and- AAAAHH!!!”
His painful scream rang out, many rising to their feet as they heard the sound of bones cracking, the man falling to his knees as his hand was wrapped around Yago's clenching palm, his scream and cry ringing out.
“Were you saying something? I didn't hear you.” - Yago said calmly, blood trickling down his palm.
“AAAH~ STOP! PLEASE! LET GO!” - He roared in tears and snot, whereupon Yago smilingly let go, showing everyone the deplorable state of the individual's hand.
No matter how you look at it, that hand... it's impossible to restore it, amputation will be necessary. The man screamed and cried, getting up with the help of some friends and being dragged away.
“Did you have to?” - A female voice sounded, Yago looked at the woman in casual clothes and an attractive, strong physique.
“I just used a bit of force. I took it easy, because it wasn't your neck.” - Yago smiled as he used a cloth to wipe his bloody hand.
“He's going to have to have his hand amputated.” - The woman said seriously.
“He still has the other one.” - Yago shrugged.
“The problem is that the missing hand belongs to me.” - The woman smiled and pulled up a chair to sit closer. - “You attacked one of my men, what's the situation?”
“You go back to your place, enjoy the rest of the evening and pretend it never happened, or unfortunately you'll lose all the men in a tragic accident.” - Yago replied coolly and provocatively.
Fists ceased, blades were exposed and fierce looks stared at the group. The atmosphere was becoming heavy and unstable.
“You're putting me in a difficult situation. But I think conflict is impossible to avoid at this point. I thought you were someone reasonable.” - She said coldly.
“I am someone reasonable, it's just that you're stupid to let a piece of trash from your group provoke someone who shouldn't have. I don't know what group of thugs you are and I don't care, if you want to fight, let's fight.” - Yago put his big, heavy gun on the table.
“ENOUGH!!!” - A powerful roar rang out, attracting everyone's attention. An armless man walked forward, an imposing aura, Yago smiled, this man is strong.
“If you want to fight and kill each other, do it outside my inn!” - He pointed to the exit.
“Old man, this is a delicate matter.” - The woman said.
“Fuck you! Delicate will be my leg up your ass! Now go back to your place and take your revenge away from my establishment, because if a fight breaks out, I'll beat you all up!” - The man smiled and clenched his fist, a powerful reddish aura manifested itself and burst forth.
The man is a Master, many frowned.
“You were lucky, but when we meet, I'm going to make you pay for your transgressions.” - She said coldly, about to say something else.
“I don't want to know your name, I don't want to occupy my memory with useless information.” - Yago smiled and the woman growling in fury backed away.
“Don't bring that shit into my inn.” - The man pointed at Yago and said seriously. Yago just smiled, not bothered, and soon the food arrived.
......
With the arrival of night, everyone went to their rooms and Yago was no different, but like many other nights, he altered his body, reducing his size and using martial arts, he flew out of the window and started jumping between the houses.

PART 5 – Investigation! (II)
—————————
The night was cold and the atmosphere gloomy. - “The Yin Energy in this place is too dense.” - Skarla said quietly from the top of a church, looking down and thinking.
This is an even worse place to live compared to Mist City. Here the undead energy, which in Murim's eyes is Yin Energy, is reminiscent of death and cold. It's not good to live in a place with such an imbalance between Yin and Yang.
In the bodies of men and women there is Yin and Yang, women have more Yin and men more Yang. Their effects and proportions vary and depend on each person.
Skarla has a perfect balance between both energies because she is a Futanari, possessing both genders, both hormones and some that she didn't know existed, which gives the hormonal balance to have both genitals functional.
In any case, living in such places is harmful to health, reduces the vitality of men and women, shortens life expectancy, and children born tend to come with more disabilities and deformities.
'It's a pity they rely too much on Magic and Sacred Energy, if they had learned the concepts of Yin and Yang, they would have efficient means of annihilating the undead without needing the help of gods.' - Skarla sneered, looking back and feeling something watching her, and it wasn't Sueika.
She quickly jumped up and went back to investigating.
...
In a poorer part of the city, where crime is higher and security lower, Skarla walked through the streets undetected, until she advanced into an alley and grabbed a young man, throwing him against the wall while holding his head, electricity coursing through him.
“Where can I find an informant? A person who sells information?” - She asked.
“At the Bar...” - The young man replied.
“Which Bar?” - Skarla asked.
“The Bar.” - And the young man replied.
“Where is this Bar?” - Skarla frowned.
...
The place shown by the young man was a small, run-down bar, but there were no beggars or dirt around, which is unusual. There was no smell of drink, laughter or conflict.
Entering, she detected presences inside, a sleeping old man sitting at a table in the center of the bar, a door leading to the back and spreading her senses, she detected several holes in the floor and through them, she found a large underground space and many people with high levels.
Skarla looked around a bit, reached the old man, touched his head and electricity coursed through him. He woke up, blank stare. - “Are you the one who sells information?”
“Yes.” - The old man nodded.
“I want information about the people who have gone missing in recent months, especially since the Fire Mages arrived in the city.” - Skarla said calmly.
“We have the information ready, other investigators have already requested it.” - Said the old man.
“I see, bring it to me.” - Skarla said, the old man got up and went to the back, Skarla followed him.
The underground structure is large and spacious, she sensed the presence of a few doubtful people and as soon as the old man seemed hypnotized, she expanded a dome of sound suppression and began to put everyone to sleep.
Then the old man took her to the “Library” or also called the “Archive Room”. Skarla looked around and the old man gave her a thick book with information about the missing persons, but something else caught her eye.
“Who made the requests for information on adventurers?” - Skarla took the documents and frowned, they didn't look like anything special.
“We gather information on all adventurers who arrive in the city and track their location. We hardly sell such information.” - The old man replied.
Skarla looked at the information about her and her group. There is little information and there are notes of suspicion, especially in Shunam's file, which is the most complete. A Beastkin, a cross between a chinchilla and a rat, but who doesn't look like the same breed.
Apparently they have information about what she said when she met Shunam. There is also information about her being missing. Curiously, no one has found a connection between Shunam and her.
Nayara and Luisel are receiving attention. Nayara is unknown at the moment, but it shouldn't be long before they receive information from Jarletia. Luisel is known to many for having taken part in the wedding tournament.
Skarla looked at the old man. - “Who has easy access to this information?”
“Me, Makias, Yoork and the manager.” - The old man replied.
“Who are Makias, Yoork and the manager? Are they here?” - Skarla narrowed her eyes.
“Makias and Yoork are, you put them to sleep. The manager only comes on important occasions or once a week.”
“Who's the manager?”
“The Commander of the City Guard.”
“How is the City Guard Commander the manager of an intelligence group?” - Skarla was confused.
“Because the leader made him.”
“Who is the leader?”
“Nobody knows, but apparently he was in town recently.”
“The leader of your intelligence group has been in the city? Do you know his race, approximate age? How long has your organization existed? How long has the manager been in charge?”
“Yes, he arrived a few months ago, but he seems to have left. We don't know his race, but he's old, the organization is about 15 years old. The manager has been in charge for three years.”
“Do you know how close the manager is to the leader?”
“I think they're master and servant. I've often heard the manager refer to him as master... I think it might be his father too, I think he's let something like that slip by mentioning the leader in recent weeks.”
“Did the higher rate of disappearances occur around the time the leader visited?” - Skarla narrowed her eyes.
“Yes.”
“Have there been any strange movements by the city guards? Do you have any information about executed prisoners or where their bodies have gone?” - Skarla scratched her chin.
“Since the leader's arrival, the guards have done a better job than usual. There have been many executions, three to four times more than there would normally be. The bodies are disposed of in the big ditch, most of them turned into undead.”
“Understood. Where does the manager live?”
“He lives in the wealthy area of the city, where the military officers live and the highest paid adventurers also live.”
Skarla continued asking questions, finally finding some very useful clues. Picking up the documents, she retreated after dealing with problems.
...
Visiting the area of the city where the richest live, close to the area where the nobles live. Skarla arrived at the large house of the Commander of the City Guard. Here she investigated and searched for him.
Entering through the open window that ventilated the interior, Skarla looked at the large double bed and the two sleeping figures, she almost laughed at what she was seeing.
A sleeping couple, but they looked like two corpses with their hands clasped together over their bellies. But what caught her eye were the scars she could see, identical to those on Shunam.
Skarla found traces leading back to the Mad Scientist.
'He seems to have perfected the technique, but... the potential doesn't seem to be at Shunam's level.’ - Skarla scratched her chin, wanting to dissect them, but she needed to investigate further and since she didn't know how these modified creatures' brains worked, she couldn't just make them tell the truth.
