PART 3 – Kevels Waves!
—————————
(Author: Frankly speaking, this Part 3 is more of a dump of technical information that is useless in reality, but will be extremely useful for the future of the work and certain technical foundations. It's over 1,500 words.)
Verna is in her room after spending some fun time with the information salesperson, who is in a state of pure orgasmic frenzy. Apparently, she heard about what happened to Nezsa.
Verna isn't bothered by it, but it's good that when she arrived at her rented room, she found a package in front of her. She picked it up, went inside, opened it, and found a sophisticated device.
She looked at the booklet, as well as separate documents detailing how to use the device. Verna read, analyzed the buttons, how to adjust it, and so on. She saw that there are measurements for Legends and Demigods; it seems the Kevel Wave frequency changes accordingly.
Curious, Verna adjusted it to evaluate Demigods, then stood in front of the device and used her telekinesis to activate it. She waited patiently, then deactivated the device and looked at the meters.
The result was what she expected: zero. The device has a type of meter, like a thermometer. It changes color and has several markings every 5%. Each 5% is related to 1 level from 21 to 40. In the case of a Demigod, it is said that the accuracy of evaluating such an individual is practically useless, but it only serves to know if the other side is in fact a Demigod.
Since it didn't activate, it means she isn't, which was already expected. But this made her understand that the levels do indeed have something special, she just doesn't know what.
She then reactivated the device after readjusting it to the legendary level. She then waited and when she looked at the results, it was as expected, the meter was full, 100%.
‘I didn’t feel anything. I felt every internal movement of the device, its slight energy fluctuations, and yet, nothing…’ - Verna puts away the instruction document and device, then picks up the book to read.
“Weren’t we supposed to go today? Didn’t you get what you wanted already?” – Zenyo, already properly dressed, asked.
“Zenyo, go pay for some whore, I’m busy.” – Verna waved her hand, tossing some coins to Zenyo so he could go play and leave her to her business.
…
Verna read the book of studies on Kevel Waves. At first, it was just details boasting about his enormous discovery, etc. Verna rolled her eyes, but continued reading without skipping anything.
Finally, she reached the part where he explained his point of view, how he discovered Kevel Waves.
Kevel is a Mage and Alchemist, but he particularly loves Engineering and Enchantments. Therefore, when he was young, always being the best in his field, he was studying the structure of various pipes, as well as using his evaluation skills.
There he noticed something; at the time he couldn't say what it was, something bothered him. It was as if his mind had gone blank and he had forgotten about it. But focused on discovering it, he kept trying and understood.
The levels. His attention focused on describing skills and enchantments, more precisely, on the effectiveness of certain powers when equipped by people of different levels.
But not specific levels, but rather sets of them. Level 1~10, Level 11~20, Level 21~40, and Level 41~50.
He soon began conducting more detailed studies, selecting one individual from each level, from 1 to 40. No demigod was willing to take the time to help him, not that Kevel minded.
Through his research, analyzing each attribute point of those involved, using accessories to balance their physical and magical attributes as much as possible. The biggest variable would be their levels.
Thus, he studied the use of equipment and enchantments that have certain level restrictions, or that are less efficient when equipped by individuals of specific levels.
In other words, Kevel wanted to understand why this was so, why certain treasures become weaker the higher someone's level, even if sometimes there isn't that much difference. The biggest difference in levels, when there are no attribute improvements, would be increases in HP and MP.
He began citing various theories that proved useless. Pages and pages of his line of reasoning, Verna rolled her eyes; he was rambling again. But finally, he got to the important point.
He says that after almost two years of study, piles and piles of detailed information on more than 200 individuals from Level 1 to 40, he arrived at his theory that each level possesses a different energy emission, something that cannot be detected by abilities, much less felt, but it is something that is there.
Something that influences all their lives and that, if they know what it is and perhaps control it, they can increase the manufacture of weapons, reducing to a minimum how inefficient certain items become as their level increases.
He quoted that: It's as if the laws of the world dictate that we should always seek better equipment, and as a result, the one we're used to weakens.
Not that the item in question becomes weaker, only that as it gets stronger, you feel that the item's feel isn't the same as before.
Upon reading this, Verna remembered Mountain, the first decent blade Berard created. Without a doubt, the most powerful weapon she had equipped since beginning this life. But as she used it, she saw no problems, except that it leveled up since then, and in fact, Mountain gradually no longer seemed to fit in her hands.
What's strange is that Verna always has attributes at their limit; leveling up doesn't bring significant differences, except for HP, MP, and Internal Energy. But that's at most reserves of vitality and power, not directly applied to strength; it only indicates that she will resist more in combat.
Improving proficiency, even if it brought tangible results, would be a closer approximation to the weapon in question. Only an increase in attributes should truly bring such a feeling.
Then she continued reading. Kevel explains his theories about the universe always pushing us to seek better equipment, to give us the feeling of progressing. He talked about how a legendary weapon that makes a Level 20 covet it might not be so interesting to a Level 30.
A separate test was even conducted, evaluating the reactions to a powerful and extremely expensive weapon, highly coveted by those around Levels 21-25. Each person's reaction and performance were assessed.
But upon reaching Level 26, the testing devices captured subtle changes in their emotions. As the person's level increased, the weapon seemed less interesting. Not that it ceased to be good, just that it seemed to lose its luster.
This is unsettling, as we are talking about a legendary weapon with materials that could create equipment even demigods would use.
Through these tests and hypotheses, Kevel demonstrated his theory. Many were skeptical, even thinking it useless, but Kevel didn't give up and spent more money, even when the institution ceased its investment. He, who was wealthy, took money from his own pocket.
He spent years studying and trying to prove his theory, almost going mad, but never giving up. Then he met a Demigod Archmage who was intrigued by his studies and decided to help him.
Together, they managed to prove his theory. Through runic inscriptions, along with dozens of types of magical accessories, it was possible to analyze a new type of frequency in people.
Ignoring even their artifacts that hide their level or abilities. It's not possible to analyze the individual in detail, but it is possible to presume the level of equipment, something that wasn't possible before.
But the greatest discovery of Kevel Waves is their ability to detect the levels of materials. When Verna read this, she was speechless and understood its value; it's greater than she thought.
Kevel Waves allow one to sense the rules of this universe. The limitations imposed by the system, something that is certainly not easy to discover.
Kevel discovered how to read these wordless rules. She knew how to categorize and differentiate them.
And if used correctly, Kevel Waves go beyond simply categorizing the quality of materials by level, to help in the creation of high-quality items and avoid wasting them.
Verna sees that if studied, metal alloys will be fundamentally different, allowing for tests and the avoidance of low-quality combinations, maximizing the potential of materials and creating equipment and artifacts with a high limit level.
But Verna sees that if this technology is improved… it's likely that the next generation will be a method of analyzing terrain, potentially discovering the quality of hidden materials. Finding veins of ore hidden tens to hundreds of meters under rock.
What if it were possible to create portable devices, regulating them, finding natural resources, in addition to ores, would be easier? Filtering by level. It would also be a great scanner to detect monsters and their approximate level. Categorizing entire regions and… – ‘Measuring the danger level of the Dungeons.’
Verna finished reading the book, contemplating its ingenuity. The possibilities are endless.
‘Could this measure the power of skills or techniques? Allow one to have an idea of their appropriate level?’ – Her eyes shone, as this would help her understand that there might be flaws in her Martial Arts and Cultivation Techniques.
She could conduct studies, analyze and measure each technique with greater precision. Better configure the hierarchy. Verna smiled; she hadn't expected to get much from this world, but this… this is a treasure that doesn't even exist in Sueika's library.

PART 4 – Encounter!
—————————
After reading the book, Verna searched for Zenyo. He was drowning between two beautiful, voluptuous women. He certainly had a lot of fun.
Leaving him to rest, Verna, who doesn't even know how many hours have passed since she began reading and even rereading the important points of the book, looked at the night sky and went out to eat something.
Verna went to the restaurant, looked at the menu and ordered several things. The food is of good quality. Verna sees that there is much to study in this world and pleasure for her own.
But while waiting for her food, a commotion began, and Verna raised an eyebrow.
“Fuck you, you racist bastards! Do you see me as a human being?! Fuck you, I want my food!” – shouted a tall woman with navy blue hair, dark chocolate skin, and long, pointed ears.

This woman is arguing with the staff, the same receptionist who greeted Verna with a wide, warm smile.
But when faced with this Dark Elf, her prejudice is obvious, making Verna roll her eyes. Prejudice is one of the most useless things in the world; it hinders the progress of society.
The curious thing is that the empire of the past, guilty of today's prejudice, was human. The Dark Elves received prejudice for free, simply for having a similar skin tone.
Several customers laughed at the situation, no one offering to help.
“Get out of here, we don't welcome people of your kind here!” – The receptionist began to sound more aggressive.
Verna watched as the Elf became very frustrated. – “I am a Dark Elf! Do you know what that is? A species! I'm not a black human, I'm a species born with this skin color! Do you have a brain, by any chance?”
The receptionist remained indifferent.
Verna rolled her eyes. – “There’s a space here if you want.” – She says, raising a hand, drawing everyone’s gaze. Just as someone is about to speak, Verna’s presence intensifies, and everyone falls silent.
The elf smiles and goes to Verna. – “You really don’t care about me?” – She leans over the table and stares into Verna’s eyes.
“As you said, you’re a Dark Elf. As far as I know, the culprits of the past were humans. Your race even refrained from entering this pointless racial conflict. So why would I act like an animal for no reason? Sit down and order something.” – Saying this, Verna winces at the table and casts an intense look at a waiter who, without choice, approaches to take the order.
“I’m Lina, it’s a great pleasure!” – She laughs happily and begins to order, certainly very hungry.
“I’m Verna.” – Verna replies, looking at the waiter. “If my food or hers comes with something it shouldn’t, know that we’ll have a problem. And I solve my problems with a lot of destruction.”
“We’re a respectable establishment, we don’t do that sort of thing!” – The waiter said hurriedly, sweating profusely as Lina smiled and watched him back away.
Several people from surrounding tables stood up and moved away. Lina groaned and lay down on the table. – “Finally~ I’ve been wandering around the city for hours!”
Verna smiled slightly. – “You should have avoided the Capital, the indoctrination of dark-skinned people here is certainly the worst I’ve ever seen. You’re probably already a target and they’re just waiting for you to let your guard down to capture you.”
“Humph! I’m a Legend, I want to see them try.” – She shrugged.
“You don’t seem like the strong type, otherwise you’d only need one look to shut everyone up and have a place to stay.” – Verna said, and Lina fell silent.
Verna placed something on the table, a magical accessory that, when activated, created a sound dome around it. – “What world did you come from?” – She asked.
“How?” – Lina blinked.
“Your way of speaking is rather strange; it seems you speak through some magical accessory. Even if you weren't from another world but from one of the smaller continents, you would know that coming to the capital of the continent's largest empire wouldn't be a good choice with that skin tone. You would at least have disguised yourself.” – Verna said calmly, and Lina frowned, then laughed.
“You're intelligent, but you don't look intelligent, that's worrying!” – Lina narrowed her eyes.
Verna shrugged. – “I'm observant. But I think it doesn't matter much; this empire is powerful, they have control over thousands of legends and dozens of demigods. Just because of your color, you'll become a target, and the fact that you're beautiful only makes it worse.”
“Humph! We’re still in a nation that’s technically free for all species, right? I’m a Dark Elf, all Dark Elves, even Albinos, have dark skin. Does that mean this entire species is enslaved in this world?” – Lina growled.
“No, it’s just that Dark Elves are practically banished to the smaller continents. It’s likely that any Dark Elf traveling through these lands, whether Legendary or a free escapee from slavery.” – Verna took a sip from her mug; the waiter arrived and brought some plates.
“You can eat, there’s nothing wrong with it.” – Verna said as Lina watched, trusting Verna, and began to eat.
“Oh my god. This food is delicious! Those sons of bitches are racist jerks, but they know how to cook!” – She savors a large piece of her steak.
“But tell me, what is a Legend from another world doing in an unknown world?” – Verna asks.
Lina is quiet for a while, she raises a hand and a finger, asking for a moment while she chews and swallows, then says. – “My world was very weak, resources were limited and… after the fall of the gods, the struggle for resources and oppression became greater. I am almost 300 years old and I am only at the beginning of the legendary level, so I saw the opportunity to go to another world and I didn’t hesitate to come.”
“Since I arrived in this world, aside from a few jerks who tried to kill me and I only later found out it was because of my skin color, I’ve had several encounters with powerful monsters. Seriously, in about a month I leveled up. Of course, I almost died and my weapons were destroyed in the process, since then I’ve been trying to sell my resources and buy better equipment… BUT THESE SONS OF BITCHES!” – Lina roars as she looks around.
Verna laughs. – “Give it to me, I can sell it later, I’m leaving town soon.”
Lina stopped eating. – “Are you leaving?” – She winks.
“Yes. I’m just passing through the capital, my objective is elsewhere.” – Verna shrugs.
“Fuck! When I finally find someone to talk to, we’re already going to part ways.” – Lina sighs, but doesn’t stop stuffing the meat into her mouth.
“I believe you’re a great assassin.” – Verna said while eating.
“Nope~ I’m a swordswoman.” – She says without taking her eyes off her plate.
“Swordsman? You know I’m a Legend too, I’ve encountered countless assassins and swordsmen, everything about you is related to an assassin.” – Verna said.
In response, Lina stands up and opens her overcoat, revealing her beautiful brown body, skin that seems to glow in the light, her toned abdomen and the piercing at her navel. Her enormous pair of breasts, her curves and well-defined muscles.
“This is the body of an assassin to you?” – Lina teases as she sits down and resumes eating.
“Okay, I admit I was wrong.” – Verna laughs, but doesn’t understand how she misjudged her.
(Author: *Cough* *Cough* Critical Error.)
Verna thought and believes that if Lina came from a world so scarce in resources and opportunities, where it took her 300 years to get where she is, being an elf who certainly didn’t live in a time of peace. It means she would have to kill many people and survive to avoid being killed herself.
The most logical thing would be to become skilled in stealth. And Verna believed she was an assassin because of her walk; she made no noise as she approached, her movement was also quite fluid, without unnecessary movements.
Anyway.
“I’m curious. Is it so easy for a Legend to travel between worlds?” Verna asks.
“Easy is the last word I would use to describe the hell I went through to get here. Since the fall of the gods a few years ago, my world has become even more brutal, but also with more opportunities. Before, the churches greatly restricted resources and people; I myself was under various oaths. Practically a slave, and I wasn’t the only one. Then the fall of the gods freed us; many barriers and restrictions in our world were gone. Thus, it became possible to use portals to travel between worlds.”
“Of course, those with specific coordinates were destroyed or used and then destroyed. The remains, which I and some acquaintances used, were reactivated from one of those destroyed locations, and even though it was unstable, we used it anyway. We went in, it was a mess, and then I appeared in this world full of racist jerks!” – Lina smiles awkwardly and goes back to eating.
Verna contemplates and realizes that Lina's world is most likely one of the worlds that gods used to train their believers, while taking all their natural resources to use in their main churches in other worlds.
Lina was most likely being cultivated; when she reached a certain level, if she didn't meet the minimum requirements, she would probably be used as a source of sexual EXP, then killed.
…
Verna let Lina stay in her room. Lina didn't hesitate to ask if Verna wanted to have sex, saying it had been a while, but she told Lina to rest, that she would come out soon, just waiting for her friend to wake up.
Lina agreed and went to sleep; she certainly hadn't slept in days.
…
Zenyo woke up, the prostitutes had been paid, and now he wanted to continue his journey. Verna didn't object, so they gathered their things to leave.
About an hour later, they were both heading towards the Great Teleportation Matrix. But upon arriving, Verna found Lina waiting, attracting many stares. When she saw Verna, she cheerfully waved and approached in a few steps.
“What are you doing here?” Verna asked curiously.
“Nothing much, I just wanted to visit a little more of this world, and since you'll be exploring, I decided to follow you. I think a pair of hands will be helpful.” Lina smiled.
Zenyo blinked. – “Who is this? Did I miss something?” “Hello, are you Zenyo? I’m Lina, it’s a great pleasure. I have to say I admire you, even though you’re short, you took care of two beauties, congratulations. It’s a shame they didn’t appreciate you, they were insulting you after they left.” – Lina smiles.
“Insulting me? I did a great job with them!” – Zenyo was speechless while Verna beside him held back laughter.
“One of them said her little toe was bigger.” – Lina says and Zenyo shudders.
“She’s not coming with us!” – Zenyo roars, pointing at Lina.
“She will. But do you have the money to pay? I know I helped her convert her resources into money.” – Verna said, ignoring Zenyo’s fury.
“No problem, I can even pay for you.” – Lina pats her chest, full of confidence.
…
“20,000 Zyrps per person!” Lina's confident face, clutching her coin purse, shifts from trust to disbelief, then despair. "How?" she asks the man in front of her.
"That's 20,000 Zyrps per person," the man says impatiently, irritated by a woman of that skin color speaking to him.
Lina looks at Verna. "Are you sure we're in the right place? Don't you think you've got the wrong place?"
Verna smiles as she moves forward, placing the payment on the table, enough for three people. "This time I'll pay."
Lina nods, and the three are then guided by the man to a structure. The device is activated, and they cross over, traversing more than 100,000 kilometers in moments.
Emerging on the other side, Lina shudders, feeling a strong wave of nausea. Zenyo, who had withstood the spatial movement between worlds, couldn't handle it anymore and was already vomiting; it's noticeable that he's physically stronger than Lina.
Verna has her eyes closed, feeling nauseous but easily controlling it, then sighs. She overestimated this world's teleportation technology. This level of instability is far too high.
This makes it possible for specific types of items to interfere with teleportation and, as a result, affect the coordinates, potentially even causing death.
