CH 18: DUNGEON(2)
The mana in the atmosphere grew so thick that it transformed into a light layer of mist.
Then, it began to gather before coalescing into what looked like a swirling mass of darkness that was a few meters of diameter.
"...So this is a gate. Interesting."
For the first time in a while, I activated the second function of the [Eyes of truth.]
The power to see color.
[Eyes of the truth
Class:??
A skill that allows you to see danger in the form of color and observe people. A devolved form of the nine eyes.
Green= No danger
Yellow= Attention required
Orange= Do not approach
Red= Immédiate retrait recommended
Black= Flees like a bitch]
I truly found it weird that the eye couldn't judge its own rank. But then again this function was a noon of Asmodeus rather than one of my wishes. I guess this was a penalty.
Now that the gate was completed, I took a look at it.
'Green and some yellow.'
This sent a shiver to my spine.
'What the actual fuck?'
The eyes did not judge danger based on my own power, but more from an analysis of the surrounding and circumstances.
Who are with me right now?
Two of the most badass women I knew in all off anime.
You are telling me that even with them near me I need to pay attention?
Should I inform them of it?
What a stupid question. Of course I should. Why would anyone be stupid enough to not do so? I could already imagine the clichè situation where I hid the danger and some serious shit happened.
As such,
"Mamako, Irene-san…"
----
Few minutes later, Irene and Mamako stood with a thoughtful expression on their face.
"I see… Incredible. To think your eyes allow you to literally see danger. How deep is their connection to the Akashic record?"
"Akashic record?"
I was a little confused. Not at the name itself but at the reason she began to speak.
"Oh? You don't know? Hehe. Tell me, I don't know how you can see danger with those eyes of yours, but, did you ever ask yourself, from where all that information came from?"
"Ah… I see."
"...The Akashic record is the universal storage. All knowledge, past, present and future are recorded. The higher your authority, the more you can see."
I see. Well, this did not really matter, did it? What I needed was to prepare myself.
"Please, could you wait an instant? I need to wear some clothes suited for the activities."
The moment I said so an arm guard formed in my hand. The sparkling eyes of Erza burdened me somewhat.
"Incredible. It looks like my magic."
I didn't bother answering that pay to win player. Though I couldn't say that I was much better.
[Hinokagutsuchi
Class:??
Allows the user to reproduce in his hands any object that he has touched before.]
Yeah, no matter how much I looked at that power I couldn't help but grin. This was perhaps the best power out of all those I asked for.
The very moment I informed Mamako of my power, she brought me to the armory of the family and made me touch some of the weapons. Nothing fancy. Just some low class magical weapons and some armor.
Sadly I couldn't have access to the truly badass toy before I officially received the inheritance of my parents. The government was trying to take a share of my cake.
Fucking taxes.

Anyway,
Currently I was still a novice, so I had to be careful. I did not hesitate to deck myself in a light armor composed of a breast plate, some arm guards. Something to protect my stomach and a few daggers. I wanted to add something to protect my face, but doing so would limit my vision and I wasn't trained enough to fight in such conditions.
Some people may say. Man. You have two OP characters and a future powerhouse besides you. You also have a high level in mana and OP skills. Why are you such a wuss?
I would answer. Man. Go kindly. Fuck. Yourself.
What were the reasons amateurs died fast and easily in their first adventure? It wasn't lack of strength or lack of smart. But rather lack of preparation.
How do I know that when I have never ever set foot into a dungeon?
Well.

Watch Goblin slayer and you will learn to never underestimate a dungeon.
