Ch: 22 [Training]

After settling Sam and Julia into the mutant school, my focus shifted towards my own personal training and honing my skills. I knew that if I wanted to make a difference, I needed to be prepared and in control of my powers. With that in mind, I decided to buy an abandoned building in a secluded spot, a place where I could train without distractions.

The building stood tall and worn, its walls covered in layers of peeling paint. It had an eerie charm to it, and I could sense the potential within its dilapidated structure. Inside, dust coated the floors, and cobwebs hung from the ceiling, but I saw past the neglect and imagined the possibilities that lay ahead.

I focused my mind and tapped into my gravity manipulation power. As I extended my influence over the gravitational forces around me, I directed my power towards the dust particles in the air and the accumulated dirt on the floors. With a subtle gesture of my hand, I manipulated gravity to create a localized vacuum, causing the dust and dirt to be drawn towards me.

As the particles floated towards me, I further manipulated gravity to compress them into a dense ball. Once the dust and dirt had gathered into a solid mass, I moved my hand in a sweeping motion, propelling the ball out of the building and away from the training space. The process repeated itself, with each sweep of my hand clearing a path through the building, leaving behind a cleaner and more open area.

I continued this meticulous process, utilizing my gravity manipulation to gather the debris and remove it from the building. The cobwebs that once clung to the ceiling were dislodged and swept away, leaving the space clear and free from obstruction.

As the dust settled and the floors became visible once again, I took a moment to appreciate the transformation. The abandoned building had undergone a significant change, now presenting itself as a suitable training ground for my endeavors.

With the cleaning complete, I turned my attention to organizing the space. I moved discarded furniture to the side, creating an open area in the center for practicing combat and refining my abilities. I set up makeshift targets along the walls, providing focal points for honing my accuracy and control.

I also made sure to equip the building with basic amenities, bringing in a small refrigerator, a TV, my new PC, a table, and a few chairs for breaks and moments of rest. And with the electricity restored, it's perfect. Although modest, the space now felt like my own personal training sanctuary, a place where I could push my limits.

It's already 9:00 pm.

I peeked out the window. Through the window, I observed the darkness outside. The night had settled in, casting an eerie atmosphere over the surroundings. It's going to rain today. Well, no time to waste. Let's learn how to fly.

Excited about my new training space and eager to explore the capabilities of my gravity manipulation powers, I focused my mind and stepped into the center of the room. I closed my eyes, allowing myself to fully connect with the gravitational forces around me.

I extended my influence over the gravitational field, feeling its pull and flow as if it were an extension of myself. I visualized myself defying gravity, soaring through the air with ease. With each breath, I let go of any doubts or limitations and embraced the potential within me.

Opening my eyes, I raised my arms and lifted them towards the ceiling. I concentrated my power, channeling it through my hands and into the surrounding space. The gravitational forces responded to my command, creating a localized field around me.

Slowly, I lifted my feet off the ground, feeling the pull of gravity weakening beneath me. As I hovered in mid-air, a surge of exhilaration rushed through my veins. It was a taste of the freedom and possibilities that lay ahead.

I carefully controlled my elevation, adjusting the strength of the gravitational field to maintain a stable position, but only if it was that easy. Within a few seconds, my strength disappeared and I crashed on the floor.

Ouch, that didn't go as planned. It seems I still have a lot to learn and master when it comes to flying with my gravity manipulation powers. I picked myself up from the floor, feeling a mixture of disappointment and determination.

[1 week later]

I stood in the middle of the training ground, a sense of accomplishment and excitement filling my being. It had taken an entire week of dedicated practice and relentless determination, but I had finally learned how to fly and control my direction with just a flicker of thoughts.

With a focused mind, I extended my influence over the gravitational forces around me. I visualized myself defying gravity once again, soaring through the air. As I concentrated, a familiar surge of power coursed through my veins, and I felt the gravitational field respond to my command.

Slowly, I lifted my feet off the ground, the sensation of weightlessness enveloping me. This time, I maintained my stability, adjusting the strength and direction of the gravitational field with precision. I propelled myself forward, gliding through the air effortlessly.

A smile spread across my face as the wind rushed past me, carrying a sense of freedom and exhilaration. I maneuvered through the training ground, testing the limits of my newfound ability. I soared higher, dipped lower, and executed sharp turns, reveling in the sensation of flight.

But I knew that flying was just the beginning. I wanted to explore the full extent of my gravity manipulation powers, to push myself beyond what I had achieved so far. I landed gracefully on the ground, my feet touching the floor with a newfound sense of confidence.

I shifted my focus to a nearby set of weights, each one significantly heavier than the last. With a determined expression, I extended my influence over the gravitational forces, altering the weight of the objects before me. As I lifted the weights effortlessly, I marveled at the power I now possessed.

My training continued, incorporating various exercises and challenges to further refine my control over gravity. I practiced precision maneuvers, enhancing my ability to manipulate the gravitational field with pinpoint accuracy. I tested my limits, gradually increasing the weight of the objects I could lift and manipulate.

Days turned into weeks. Time seemed to blur as I delved deeper into my training, honing my skills and exploring the vast possibilities of my gravity manipulation powers. I faced setbacks and moments of frustration, but I persevered, driven by a relentless desire to become the best version of myself.

[1 month later]

After a month of intense training, my skills with gravity manipulation had reached new heights. I had gained precise control over the gravitational forces around me, able to manipulate them with ease and finesse. I could lift and move heavy objects effortlessly, alter the trajectory of projectiles, and create localized gravitational fields to immobilize opponents.

Alongside my heightened control over gravity, my hearing had become more acute. I could now pick up on sounds from far distances, allowing me to perceive even the faintest of noises.

This newfound ability opened up a world of possibilities for me. I could gather information from a distance, eavesdrop on conversations, and detect approaching dangers before they were within sight. It gave me an edge, granting me an enhanced awareness of my surroundings and an advantage in combat situations.

However, the biggest problem is my physical condition. I can maintain my power for 15 minutes at a constant rate, but if I push beyond that, I will suffer from exhaustion and my control over gravity will become unstable. It's clear that I need to work on increasing my stamina and endurance to fully utilize my powers without limitations.

I would have liked to do some physical training without my powers, but work calls. And the opening of the new restaurant is in 10 days, so I need to double-check everything, just in case.

[Ring!] [Ring!] A call from Anna.
