Chapter 172- To the other side

Mira was hanging against the wall. Her hands were bound to nothing, but she couldn't move them. Her lips weren't sealed, but she couldn't talk. Her legs were a few meters above the ground, but she couldn't do anything to escape.

All she could do right now was to stare at the distant sky with a lot of thoughts clouding her mind.

A day ago, her life changed. Quite seriously.

She discerned that her husband and son were having an affair. Later, she was told that her son wasn't a human but a demon. Then, the realisation that her daughter knew everything and Minoru had saved not only hers, but the others' lives too.

He has always been there with them, looking out for his family members. And as for his sexual relations with them...then in a way, he was helping them from breaking apart.

With things turning out, Mira feared that one day, she and Kosuke might get divorced. However, things changed one day when Kosuke went on a trip with Minoru.

Mira recently realized that they must have gotten close at that time.

Then he even got close to her...and Mira couldn't say he forced himself on her. He just gave the indications that he was open to having that kind of relationship with her.

And considering how she always remained frustrated around those times, she gave in. And things improved after that

Kosuke received a promotion, and her yoga classes suddenly started to boom, a favor done by Minoru.

'I shouldn't have reacted like that ...' Now that her mind was calm, she realized she behaved very childishly and made Minoru feel that he was an outsider...someone who doesn't belong to the Fujiwara family.

She couldn't even imagine how much it would have hurt him.

...and today, when she thought she would talk things out and patch things up...a strange woman came and took her away

"You look quite miserable." She appeared.

The same woman who kidnapped him.

Or should she say demon?

She stood under the moonlight, her red skin glowing softly like warm fire against the cold night. Every curve of her body seemed perfectly shaped, made to tempt and draw in every gaze. Her eyes, bright and glowing like embers, watched from the shadows—mysterious, playful, and dangerous all at once.

Long dark hair fell over her shoulders, moving with the wind like silk. Small horns curved gently from her head, adding a wild charm to her beauty. A sly smile played on her lips, as if she already knew your deepest desire before you could speak it.

She didn’t need words. Just one look from her could make your heart race and your mind forget everything else. Under the moon, she wasn’t just beautiful—she was magic, trouble, and a dream you didn’t want to wake up from.

Mira was barely keeping herself from looking at her.

The demon's allure was magnetic, as if she was whispering a few words every second in her ear, so Mira glanced at her.

This was the allure of a succubus.

"Ah, you can’t speak? Well, you can now."

With a snap of her fingers, the pressure around Mira’s lips vanished.

She didn’t scream. There was no point—no one would hear her. So instead, she stayed calm and asked,

"What do you gain by kidnapping me?"

The woman leaned against the railing, her smile playful and dangerous.

"Nothing, really," she said casually, as if this was all a game.

Mira looked away. Even though they were both women, it was hard not to notice her. The way her figure moved, the way those curves stood out—it was unnatural, almost unfair.

"It’s your child... the one you adopted," the succubus went on, her glowing eyes sharp with interest. "He caught my attention. A boy who wasn’t even born a demon, yet somehow he’s defeated my servant, gotten close to someone I know... and even made my daughter fall for him. So manly.”

Mira couldn’t tell if she was praising Minoru or boiling with jealousy.

She didn’t say his name, but it was clear who she meant.

“Tell me, woman,” the succubus said suddenly, vanishing and reappearing right in front of Mira in the blink of an eye. She twisted her body with unnatural grace, bringing their faces close. Her glowing eyes locked onto Mira’s.

“Did he tell you how he became a demon?”

Mira narrowed her eyes and stayed silent. She wasn’t going to give anything away—not to her.

The woman tilted her head, amused. “Hmm~ No matter. If you won’t speak, he will.”

She turned slightly... and smiled.

There, standing in the shadows, was the boy himself.

“Mino—mmfhh!” Mira’s eyes widened in panic, but before she could shout his name, her lips were sealed again with invisible force.

The succubus grinned, clearly enjoying this.

She began walking toward him, her steps slow and elegant, like a cat stalking its prey. Every motion she made seemed to draw attention to her body—those unreal curves, that perfect red skin, and the glow of the moon painting her in a light too beautiful to be safe.

Her eyes stayed fixed on Minoru, full of curiosity, hunger... and something more.

"You are here and...even brought some guests." She didn't need to glance to her left to know that another person was here.

Minoru told her, "I won't leave until you don't finish your talk, so let her go."

The demon smirked, "I don't need her to keep you here, but still, she is an insurance." With her eyes glowing dangerously, she added, "Who knows you might take your vanguard friend's help?"

Minoru clenched his fist...she even knows about Yuna.

"Is there any reason for all this, Zariel?" Akane asked in a troubled voice.

The woman triggered many memories, and her presence was quite domineering even though Akane believed she had grown strong in these few years.

The demon kept looking at Minoru as she said, "I want to take him with me. He is sought by someone in the demonic realm."

"...can't be," Akane muttered in a shocked voice, and even Minoru was taken aback.

He...was sought by someone? Who?

Zariel chuckled, "In so many years, no one contacted me for anything from the other side...and when they did, they wanted me to bring him there. Ahah~what a nice feeling."

Her aura grew fierce, making Minoru tense. However, he held his ground and told her, "I can't come with you-"

"AHHHHHH!" Before he could have finished those words, Mira cried.

Minoru's eyes widened as he dashed past the demon and appeared before her.

"Mom?! What is happening?!" He looked around her body and soon he found a wound on her arm.

"She has been injected with a poison which has only a single antidote. If you don't come with me, she dies." Zariel simply stated, not wanting to play the negotiation game.

Minoru gritted his teeth, "I will go, so just heal her!"

Zariel scoffed, "You think it's in my hand? The one who wants you injected that poison..even now, she is listening to this whole conversation."

Minoru looked around...but couldn't find anyone.

But his mom was still suffering. Damn it!

It was then,

[Once you step inside my mansion, she will be healed. So stop resisting and come to me~]
