Chapter 31
Galatea was not pleased to put lightly at being all but trussed up in Wonder Woman's lasso. So, as I sat beside her in an adjacent seat as we faced Wonder Woman, I actually wanted to be petty and make the chair loudly squeak or something by dragging the seat away from the irate Kryptonian.
"So... Unfortunate meeting aside how would this mentorship work?" I asked as Galatea continued sulking like the trussed-up dumpling she was.
Wonder Woman glanced between me and her other protege before she exhaled with a wry smile. "Honestly I saw that you could use my expertise in superpowered unarmed combat and maybe even armed combat with the way you enjoy using the environment as weapons. But other than actual training that would benefit you I think you could use an actual rival to push you to greater heights." At that, she looked to Galatea, and I looked over to her and the busty clone rolled her eyes.
"If I wasn't being hamstrung by the programming and trying to get to Fouquet, I would have kicked your ass. We aren't on the same level Casper." Galatea said sassily earning an amused blink from me.
"What even is her name?" I asked Wonder Woman to confirm that she had taken the name Galatea as a hero name and her private name with little interest in taking on a 'normal civilian' name. "Alright, so Galatea... I manhandled you in that fight, only your heat vision carbonizing my flesh to the point of hindering my regeneration slowed me down at all. Not to mention I have become far stronger lately if you dare to find out?" I taunted with the clone began struggling in Wonder Woman's lasso while the Amazonian in question looked both chagrined at how we got along like a house on fire and how with how hostile we were and were most certainly going to be beating each other into a pulp.
"Diana let me shove this prick's head up his own ass!" Galatea cursed as she continued to wiggle around.
"As much as I would enjoy watching you two beat the tar out of one another I have a better idea." Wonder Woman said as she stood up and quickly took off her formal lady's suit showing she had her hero outfit under her clothes.
"Follow me and don't fight him Galatea or I will have you cleaning out the horse's stables again." Wonder Woman threatened giving the clone a harsh glare and surprisingly the Kryptonian weakly nodded to the threat, I remember how the Amazonian Island of Themyscira was mostly backwards in terms of tech so them having a large series of stables of horses was inevitable.
Wonder Woman then led us into a side room of her embassy, and after a quick warning we were engulfed in the harsh light of the Zeta teleporter and I instantly out of the gate I felt a harsh frigid wind hit me.
"We are currently in the Steppes of Mongolia. The ground here is dense enough and more importantly all but uninhabited by people so people with superhuman abilities can go wild without attracting attention if they cause massive heat waves that satellites may pick up on." Wonder Woman explained as she began to stretch, and I had a foreboding feeling in my gut.
"So, in order to get an idea of where you guys stand at this point, I want you both to fight me with everything you got." Wonder Woman said and I was firmly reminded of that episode where she ordered the same to the rest of my team in canon and then completely manhandled them all like the children they were.
Just like with Klarion, it didn't matter if our physical abilities matched as they most certainly didn't as she was admittedly stronger than I was from what I saw in the Klarion fight, the thing was that she was at minimum almost a thousand years old and sometimes in universes, she was born at the end of the war of the gods which was literally some five thousand years ago... And you can be damn sure that the moment she could walk she was training as was demanded of her Amazonian warrior culture.
So, it was fair to assume her fighting experience was at least centuries far beyond my own.
As I was about to say something, Galatea beside me cratered the ground as she rocketed towards the Amazonian, and just as I expected the far more experienced than the lab-grown Kryptonian, Wonder Woman grabbed onto Galatea's outstretched fist that was aimed to hit her with Galatea's rocket-like stance and pivoted so she went past the Kryptonian's body but I could only cringe as Wonder Woman used Galatea's own momentum as she laid out her corded with muscles arm and allowed the Kryptonian to literally clothesline herself.
"I would rather not get a serving of this ass-kicking if you don't mind," I said drily seeing the choking form of Galatea who was trying to regain the right to breathe from her hasty actions.
"Cute." Wonder Woman retorted with a small smile as she dashed towards me to probably make me hate living.
But was instead met with a solid block of condensed green-toned wind I made right in front of her face leading her to do a backflip with her momentum and as she took control herself in midair with her flying abilities, she was already close to me, so I used all my strength to punt her into a nearby hill burying her in the rubble.
"Get the fuck up, that trick won't work again!" I yelled at Galatea who grimaced at me while I took a note out of Ulquiorra's book and condensed my wind and purple spiritual energy into a solid lance of power.
"Didn't know you had elemental abilities Jake; you have been holding out on the League!" Wonder Woman yelled as she got out of the rubble and as Galatea got up and flew at Diana more carefully, I joined her as Wonder Woman used her enchanted bracelets to basically no sell our various abilities along with using her Lasso to tie us up and at one point used the again bound up form of Galatea as flail against me...
Literally, my cero's and wind manipulation would be funneled into her bracelets and then she could expel all the energy back at us with even the kinetic energy of our physical blows raining down upon her being absorbed by her cheat item.
But finally, I managed to once again surprise Wonder Woman as she attempted to bind me herself and Galatea together and instead of capturing us both I grabbed Galatea and 'traveled' spatial skipping behind Wonder Woman with the shrinking Lasso going to enclose itself upon us but before it could continue to shrink I let go of Galatea and pulled the shrinking Lasso's opening around Wonder Woman before she could react to us literally teleporting behind her and pulled the Lasso taunt around her.
"Ha! I got you Ghrk!" I spat as from out of nowhere Wonder Woman drop-kicked my chest in while I was thinking she lost her powers when being bound up by a man.
With half my ribs being cracked, I just laid upon the ground looking at the blue sky above myself mentally counting the Mongolian clouds as Wonder Woman thrashed Galatea for a couple more seconds before dropping her bruised and battered body atop me literally smothering my face in Galatea's open boob window.
"Haha! Good try Jake but I do not lose my powers should I be bound by my own Lasso." Wonder Woman laughed as she herself sat down beside us while Galatea blushed as she rolled off of me and I saw that Wonder Woman had definitely worked up a good sweat during our fight and had a couple of bruises.
