Ch 49: Possessive Little Demon
After a long while, they finally separated from their kiss. Both of them gasped for air like fish pulled from water, their foreheads resting against each other as they tried to steady their breathing.
Due to some reason, Su Wen felt something different in his body, as if this kiss carried a calming wave, gently making him feel at ease in Soul, Body, and Spirit.
Du Yue’s face was red all the way to her ears. She didn’t dare lift her gaze even for a moment, though the soft smile on her lips betrayed her feelings. She remained leaning against him, feeling his warmth and the rapid, burning rhythm of his heartbeat.
Closing her eyes, she wrapped both arms around him tightly and rested her head against his shoulder, a look of quiet contentment on her face.
They stayed like that for a long time, unmoving, simply savouring each other’s warmth and presence.
After a while, Du Yue finally opened her eyes, her voice trembling nervously as she spoke:“H-Husband…”
Su Wen, curious at her tone, asked softly,“Hmmm?”
Du Yue hesitated for a moment before replying,“I-I don’t want to become pregnant yet…”
Su Wen was momentarily dumbfounded. ‘Now, what’s going on in her little head?’ he thought to himself.
Unable to hold back, he asked, “Why are you talking about us having a child?”
Du Yue spoke as though she had been waiting for the right moment,“I don’t mind kissing you. I’m your wife, and everything I have belongs to you… but first, I want to become super strong… strong enough that no one would even dare to think about harming my husband.”
She paused briefly, then continued softly,“Until then, I only want to love you and protect you…”
Still holding her, Su Wen gently tapped her back, though a trace of confusion lingered on his face.“I understand what you mean. This world is dangerous. If we can’t protect ourselves, how can we protect our children? But… I still don’t understand why you suddenly brought up pregnancy.”
Du Yue looked at him with a teasing glint in her eyes, as if he’d turned into a little idiot after just one kiss.“Of course, husband. If you couldn’t resist kissing me, then wouldn’t I easily get pregnant?”
Su Wen froze, utterly speechless. He had to clarify,“Are you… saying you could get pregnant just from kissing me?”
Du Yue nodded confidently, as if she held the secrets of the universe in her tiny hands.“Of course, husband. You still don’t know? Looks like you’re even more innocent than I thought.”
She giggled softly, then added,“My neighbour, Aunt Li, once told me that, you can hold hands with your lover, but you shouldn’t let them kiss you until marriage otherwise you will get pregnant.”
Su Wen blinked, utterly dumbfounded.‘Oh right… she’s still a young, innocent girl… sigh.’
He softly patted her head and let out a helpless sigh.“Little dumb wife… you can forget everything Aunt Li told you. If you don’t understand something, just ask me… Your Husband.”
He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her tightly against his chest. Gently rubbing her cheeks, he leaned closer and spoke in a low, reassuring voice,“I’m yours, completely. You can kiss me as much as you want… you don’t need to hold back. I’ll indulge you, my love.”
Then his tone turned calm and serious.“And don’t worry about getting pregnant. We won’t do anything that could cause that until we reach Grade Four in cultivation.”
Seeing her listening so intently, he continued patiently,“Grades One to Three are the foundation of the Immortal Path. We should do our best to preserve our potential at its peak. That’s why it isn’t recommended to lose Innate Primordial Qi before reaching Grade Four… only then will our bodies have broken free from the mortal shackles. We’re both cultivators, so we must avoid anything that could affect our cultivation and our future.”
He paused, then added with a faint smile,“And even after Grade Four, we’re not having children anytime soon. Not until we truly settle down, and that may take a long time.”
Du Yue’s eyes widened. She hadn’t expected so many rules and conditions just to make a baby.“Really, husband?! Are you sure I won’t get pregnant by accident?”‘I only want husband… children sound troublesome… I don’t care about anyone else except husband and grandparents’, she thought, smiling sweetly.
Su Wen sighed again.“Yes. I’m one hundred percent sure. You don’t need to worry about it anymore.”
She nodded, then tilted her head curiously.“Husband… then how do people make babies if it’s not from kissing?”
Su Wen froze.
After a moment, he coughed lightly and said,“Well… it’s when the man releases a very determined essence particle that goes on a long journey, meets the woman’s equally stubborn essence particle, and after a fierce competition, they decide to join hands and start constructing a tiny human blueprint.”
Du Yue stared at him blankly, clearly not understanding the Heavenly Secrets he was talking about. Her eyes were filled with pure confusion.
Realizing it would be morning before she understood any of this, Su Wen quickly changed the subject. He pinched her nose lightly and smiled.“Let’s not talk about this anymore. It’ll be a very long time before we even think about children. For now, let’s just love each other and take care of one another.”
He gently cupped her face, his thumbs brushing softly along her cheeks feeling the softness of her skin. For a brief moment, he simply looked at her… at the faint blush on her skin, the lightning scars along the left side of her face, the gentle flicker in her eyes, and the warmth she carried so naturally.
Then he leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, lingering just a little longer than before, as though marking her his own.
His voice dropped to a quiet murmur, filled with sincerity that came straight from his heart.
“Thank you for coming into my life… and for becoming my wife. I don’t know what I would be doing now without you. With you by my side, I feel like I can achieve anything in this world and won't be lonely anymore.”
The words were simple, yet the sincerity behind them ran so deep that her heart fluttered uncontrollably.
She closed her eyes and buried her flushed face against his chest, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck.
She felt a strange sense of relief in his words, as if her soul… once wrapped tightly in a cocoon… had begun to crack, letting warmth and light seep in.
An overwhelming impulse rose within her… to lean on him, to hold him as close as she possibly could. She lifted her head again, gazing at his handsome face. Her blue eyes shone brightly, filled with intense affection and desire that made Su Wen’s heart skip a beat.
Before he could say anything, she jumped, wrapping her legs around his back and her arms tightly around him, making him choke.
Like a possessive demon, she attacked his lips, not leaving him a moment to breathe. Then like a tigress claiming her domain, she kissed him fiercely, as if pouring her entire heart into that single moment.
Su Wen responded instinctively, wrapping his arms around her and steadying her, letting the kiss linger. She kissed him for a long time, her hands firmly holding his face, not pausing or breathing until she finally calmed down and felt satisfied.
When they finally pulled apart, she rested her forehead against his, her breathing soft, her expression peaceful… and content.
“No more Thank Yous between husband and wife,” she said, licking her lips and smiling sweetly. “If you ever feel like you need to thank me, you can pay… with yourself.” Her mischievous grin widened as she lightly pressed her fingers to his lips, making Su Wen’s blood boil.
Su Wen froze for a moment, yet beneath the sudden heat, he felt the familiar calming wave from their kiss, keeping his mind clear.
Only now did he realize that she had been holding herself back all this time, afraid of getting pregnant. He could do nothing but shake his head dryly and let out a soft sigh, gazing at his little demon wife with a mix of exasperation and affection.
