Chapter 335 – Fighting Back?
"Um, ok. What do we do now?" I ask the Giant Goddess.
The Goddess of War gives me a small smile and lunges forward, leaping across the space she created, and pulls her arm back for a strike. She moves unnaturally slowly, and despite the extra time to move and think, I come up with nothing I can do. I just hope Syro and Sarania can pull me out before her massive fist strikes my face.
I fly back, tumbling along the ground for a while before coming to a stop. The world spins as I try to find the Goddess again. 'Space? Please!' I think.
Space doesn't respond, and War doesn't let me know if she heard my plea. Her body is already lurching forward again, still moving slower than a Goddess should move in her own realm.
The babies in my womb should count as my children, right? I give my new Protective Bubble Skill a try. A thin, clear bubble surrounds me just before the Goddess reaches me. Her fist practically ignores the shield, her punch once again landing on my face and sending me tumbling across the ground.
The land is a bit of a blur as I try to find the Goddess, but I spot her hazy form in the distance. I think she's slowly walking towards me, so I work on straightening myself out and hope that I can fly away.
*** Syro ***
"Something's not right," I mutter. I can't read Alzi's thoughts all that well, so she must have been taken up.
"What do you mean?" Sarania says.
"I can't read her thoughts like before."
"Like before? Have you been spying on my Mistress?"
"Focus! I have to read her thoughts to even be able to tell whether something has gone wrong, and something has gone wrong. I think we need to leave with Alzi," I say, moving to get my wife out of her chair. I can't afford to fuck this up.
"Just because you can't read her thoughts doesn't mean something has gone wrong. That should be normal for those talking to a Goddess."
"Yes, but I shouldn't be able to tell that it's happening. The meetings are meant to happen almost instantly if you measure them by the time down here. So, once again, something has gone wrong. Help me," I say. I should've dragged Victoria out here. Geta said she would cause problems by being here, and the other warriors are all pregnant. Maybe Nanoka is listening, but she is likely watching over the other problem we have.
I'm not built to drag anyone around, but I'll figure it out. I do my best to get my wings around the massive dragonkin and hoist her onto my shoulder.
"The problems are increasing," Sarania says. "The Priestesses don't want us to leave."
"Well, make them want to fuck, instead," I say, slowly turning around.
A group of ten Priestesses is guarding the door. Several are in full armor with swords. The other have spears to keep us back.
"Sorry, women, but our Goddess has asked us to keep you all here for a bit longer. They are discussing some important matters," the original Priestess says. "I hope you understand. I promise you, the Goddess won't hurt Alzi."
"Goddesses have hurt my Mistress enough," Sarania says. "I'm not risking it. Sorry, but you're all going to be fucking instead of fighting."
I would say the room heated up then, but the sudden slickness between my legs proves it's a very different thing causing the heat. "You can't aim that better?" I mutter.
"I've just stopped holding back my aura. Do you think it's natural to have normal thoughts around an ancient succubus?" Sarania says. Two knives show up in her hand. At least the Priestesses look like they're struggling as well. But killing the Priestesses of War just before we go to war sounds like a great way to lose said war.
"Is there a way to get through?" I ask. I hope she comes to the same conclusion.
"Yes, but it'll take some time," Sarania says. "Try to keep your thoughts pure."
"I'm carrying my husband right now, and her tits are almost out."
"I'm not covering for you if you rape my Mistress."
*** Alzi ***
Flying isn't all that much better. The Goddess just jumps up and swings. Everywhere I look is just a giant field of grass, and after a certain height, I just start falling, so I can't get out of her reach. She does miss me sometimes when I'm flying, but it hurts a lot worse when I get launched back down to the ground, and then she knocks me around a few times before I'm able to get back in the air again.
War refuses to say anything, just continuing with her strange, slow-motion attacks that hit like real, physical attacks. I don't have anything that can attack her in return, and Space doesn't seem to be able to talk to me. My Skills are useless against a Goddess. My only defensive Skill might as well be a blade of grass when going up against a Goddess. I don't think sex Skills will help, but I have tried. She just never touches me for long enough for my erotic touch to distract her, and she must be warding off my lust infusion somehow. I should figure out if it's possible for me to do that as well. If her attack doesn't kill me.
*** Fertility ***
"No, we shouldn't have it radiate out," I say, feeling my small belly. Oh, how good it feels to be happy about being pregnant. "That won't be strong enough. We need to kill as many of Nature's forces as possible."
"This is the easiest way to do it! You're asking for such an intricate setup if we have it bounce out," Sea says.
I think most of her arguments are just so that we'll have more of these meetings. She's been right at home in my study. "Look, it moves just like the tides. It starts at low tide, then flows in with high tide, taking some lives. That flows back out to low tide, and then we return to high tide again, letting them feel the pain they've caused my Champion. It brings back that pain and suffering with low tide, while high tide drowns the women and kills them. The strength will be so much greater. It may even hurt the Dragons; I'm not going to try to make it do that, but it's possible with all the extra strength of the steps. We also have Death helping us now. And if the center group is mostly my Champion's family, then Hearth will provide some help, as well. My Champion has plenty of women who she is willing to have hurt in the center."
"But the third ring won't be set up in a good circle. They'll be spread out and off-center from the group."
"We'll have that strong core. Look, we can have the first two rings be ridged, and put all the ritual symbols there. The third and fourth will flow like the sea to help you be more involved. We're doing it this way. Help me make it work. This will help my Champion the most," I demand. "Writing will help my Champion set up the symbols perfectly, so we don't have to worry about that part going wrong. We don't have to worry about hurting the women, either; it is practically a primary goal of the ritual to hurt the women involved. So stop stalling. We need to figure out the configurations quickly, as Nature is going to put a strain on them. She's created a Champion, and the Dragons are getting their army in order now."
"Fine, fine. But this will take longer to build than if we just radiated it out," Sea says.
"Then we have to work hard."
"Then I should just sleep here so we can spend the most time possible working on it."
"Fine, but you'll stay in a separate bed."
"Very well," Sea says, with a stupid smile. "Now, we have to figure out the numbers."
"We know the size of the second circle, or at least the minimum size. It can grow and shrink as needed. My Champion has plenty of women she wants to kill."
*** Alzi ***
"Why? What is the point of this? You could've just cast me out!" I scream, climbing out of yet another hole, having rebuilt my body after another one of her stupid hits. "I can't fight a damn Goddess myself!"
The Giantess doesn't react to my words, just winding up to strike again.
"Fine, you fucking bitch!" I scream. I try to get my magma to bubble up, but nothing comes before I get hit yet again. "My kids better be fine," I groan, peeling myself off the ground. The all-too-familiar black dots start to crowd my vision.
Kids? Kids. It's my best chance.
I try using the Dragoness Mother Skill, throwing everything I have behind it as the slow-motion Goddess comes at me. But all I get is a small smile.
And then her hand falls short, just missing me as she stumbles beside me.
"Get out of here," she says, lying flat on the ground.
*** Space ***
"WAR! FUCKING ANSWER ME ALREADY! WHY IS MY WIFE BEGGING ME FOR HELP, YET SHE CAN'T HEAR ME!" I scream out yet again. I've tried, Alzi, I've tried. But she's got me stuck just inside her domain. I can't move a muscle. All I can do is scream at the bitch.
"Shut up! Your toy is fine. I'm not stupid enough to actually hurt her," War finally says.
"Are you fucking crazy? Attacking a Champion who came to you for help. Are you on the side of Nature and Justice? I thought you were neutral. Just send her away if you don't want her here!"
"Calm down, she's fine. Just a little scared."
"You said the same thing just before the world's population was about to be destroyed! What were you doing?!"
"I was just seeing if she would attack if someone went after her. She finally did, and it's quite the strange Skill she has. Was that one your doing? It did feel like something from Space or Fertility. It was an odd feeling."
"A Skill that attacks? War, the only Skill that Alzi has that is purely for attacking, requires her children to be in danger! If you hurt a single one of those kids... Why the fuck haven't you come here yet?! Let me go!"
"I'm feeling a little lightheaded."
"What the fuck did you do, War? How do you not have a brain for anything but large-scale strategy?" I try backing up and find that I can move that way. I'm sorry I was useless, Alzi. I'm sorry. I'll find a way to help you punish War.
