Chapter 74- His first wife?

"Man...that was tedious."(Kei)

Sufi sighed with a shake of her head as she found her 'husband' to be tired of just attending a meeting when he never showed any kind of fatigue when he was fending off the mythical being all those years ago.

As Sufi has observed ever since she met her mate, the last thing he likes is to remain in the spotlight despite having the strength to keep the world in the middle of his palm. She feels amused whenever Kei pleaded with her in the past to handle the matter related to the aristocracy.

Sufi as a diligent empress took every word of her lord as the absolute command and served as a rightful empress which she was. When she first time met Kei she never thought he would have such tremendous strength. She just knew he was powerful and as a battle goddess from the tribe she comes from, she naturally challenged Kei for a dual only to be slapped with a reality check.

It was the tradition of wolfkin that they submit to the person whom they consider as their superior and that day Sufi not only got smitten because he defeated her within half a minute but also the way he extended a helping hand at her despite her verbally abused him so much before that point, which touched Sufi's heart.

That day the silver-haired maiden decided to devote herself to this man by whichever means he deemed her. Whether it's as a slave or just a toy, she would accept everything until she could be with him. But little did she think, not maid or slave, Kei would grant her the position of an empress...

"If you really hated it so much, then you could have told me to announce the warning."

It was astonishing to see Kei being so agitated for the first time which made everyone in the courtroom pray for their life as Kei warranted caution for every kingdom that they should be keeping their leashes on their masses and seize all their raids on the lower realms.

It goes without saying that under such pressure no one even dared to think about arguing or even utter a single word against Kei's command as all of them nodded and assured the First Emperor that their empire would not be attacking the lower realm from now.

Sufi had no idea why Kei was angry because of such a common occurrence but aligning the facts she concluded Kei must be residing in lower realms and he must have been quite tired of the recent attacks that's why he arrived himself to issue the warning.

"Nah, it's okay. And also, I wanted to meet you as well so this was not that bothersome."

Sufi's hand which was arranging Kei's robe, came to a sudden halt as she heard his word before her eyes slightly widened and her senses made her feel doubtful whether she heard him right or not.

He...wanted to see her?

It was the first time Kei has actually said something which showed a drop of his affection toward her. But more than elation, Sufi's heart was filled with anxiousness as she hurriedly turned toward her lord and asked in a worried tone.

"Please tell me you are not going to do anything reckless."

Kei, who was laying down on the massive bed raised his brows as he straightened his back and asked in an uncertain tone.

"How....'

"I knew it! Tell me, what is going on and why do you need to do something which can harm even you? No, it's better to say that you shouldn't do anything which can bring any kind of harm to you at all. I dislike that and as your wife, I disapprove of it! Even though our relationship is pla-"

Kei has never seen Sufi panicking this much which made him move subconsciously before he walked toward her and embrace the beauty in his arms to calm her down. Sufi was an independent and strong woman who have never shown her weak side to him apart from their first battle. So her coming off this distorted and helplessly pleading Kei made his heart quite stirred.

Each and every fiber in Sufi's body tensed and froze at the spot when she felt the warm sensation pressing against her body. She, who has never let any male come close to her since childhood was feeling this sensation for the first time.

It was so sudden, and Sufi was so unprepared that she was not able to completely enjoy the warmth at all before Kei separated himself from her, leaving a wanting maiden unfulfilled. But she held herself and heard his following words.

"Relax Sufi. It's not something that could harm me. I will be weakened for a short period and won't be able to travel through dimensions. That was why I came to meet you. So please take a breather and calm down."

Sufi did as directed and with a long inhale she collected her thoughts which were going haywire with this sudden turn of events. It was just her dumb-ass heart which was still not listening to her just because it felt the man she loves from this close for this short instance!

Yes, it was short but for Sufi, it was a great matter of development between them.

"I don't know what or why you are going to do, but please be safe out there. Since I can't connect to you by any means, you probably can guess how anxiously I would be waiting for you, so please try to return as soon you can."

A guilty smile was made on Kei's lips as he heard Sufi's words. She was his first wife and someone who has proposed her love to him for a long time yet Kei only treated her the relationship out of his responsibility. He always thought Sufi was attracted to him just because he beat her in dual but seeing her like this, made Kei realize what a duffer he was.

Maybe it was because he was now in love himself that now he was able to see others' affection toward him. Well, whatever it was, Kei knew that hanging this relationship any longer would only hurt Sufi in the end.

She has already waited for him a lot...

"Hey, Sufi."

Hearing his heavy whisper right beside her ear, Sufi again stiffened up, and without realizing she hummed in response.

"Do you remember that...dress you wore that night when I took you as my bride...?"

Sufi's pale white skin adopted a crimson hue as she recalled herself wearing such vulgar attire that she bought from a faraway land to excite her mate only to get humbly rejected in the end.

If she thought that being hugged was a great development then Kei's following words were enough to erase all her senses of what she considered a fair development.

"I want you to wear that tonight..."
