Chapter 2- Irritating gaze!

"Nice to meet you. I am Karen Futaba."

"Hello, I am Ryuuta Fujiwara."

The two who had just exchanged greetings were a handsome man and a charming girl as they sat beside each other at their assigned desk.

Me?

I was on behind Ryuuta as I heard their friendly conversation.

To be honest, the way she was wary of everyone and also how she was strangely pissed at me for some reasons, I thought she would ignore Ryuuta too.

But damn, this protagonist aura didn't even show mercy on the new girl, too, and before I could have gotten involved with the love-hate relationship with this slightly older beauty, Ryuuta again snatched her attention away.

'Well, it's not like it's my first time...'

Sighing, I saw the healthy conversation of the two continuing before I retracted my gaze away and focused out of the window, trying to calm my slightly disturbed heart.

However, soon I found a pair of eyes boring hole on my back; as I meekly turned my head and found those two ruby orbs glaring at me quite intently.

'What's with her...?'

I expected her to look away when I clearly caught her staring at me, but no, she was still looking at me over her shoulder like I was the greatest criminal of the century.

Since I knew its futile to keep on continuing this game, I just ignored her presence and looked forward to the class.

For the following three periods, she was glaring at me from time to time. The weird girl was talking with Ryuuta once in a while on her own initiative, but when she turned toward me, her temperament changed significantly.

To be honest, I was getting annoyed now when she was seeing me like that. It was bothering me now. Fortunately, the bell rang, signifying that I was free to go, so I did.

Packing my bag, I got up from my seat and, unlike usual, didn't wait for Ryuuta before I exited the classroom and found the whole hallway still empty.

Taking the advantage, I went downstairs, and after bidding farewell to the senseis who came across, I walked toward the shoe lockers.

Exchanging my uwabaki with my outdoor shoes, I became a little calm as my feet also slowed down before I heard someone approaching me from the back.

It didn't take me long to sense who it was, so I didn't turn and spoke in perplexion as the person finally halted beside me.

"Why you rushed? We don't go home together anyways."

Unlike in the past, when Ryuuta and I spent most of the time after school in arcades or playgrounds, now nothing sort of those fun things happens since Ryuuta became busy after entering high school.

"Still, we walk to the gate together, so I thought...well, are you troubled by the new girl?"

Ryuuta knows my mood swings; I guess, better than anyone, so he must have seen my irritated expression when I left.

"Yeah, kinda. But it's alright now."

As I said, we finally reached up to the main gate of the school before I saw groups of students leaving the building.

A sigh left Ryuuta's lips which I explicitly knew what was about. Understanding the problems he has, I offered him with the best solution.

"Why don't we start when you get free from your umm...work tonight? Since it's a holiday tomorrow, we can play as much as we want. What about it?"

Ryuuta's face lit up in an instant as he nearly jumped in delight before he nodded instantly.

"Thank you, brother. I will definitely join you before midnight, so please wait for me."

Sensing the three pairs of eyes mixed from the crowd, I felt it was high time to end this conversation, so with a wave, I concluded my parting lines.

"I will be waiting. Don't dare to be late, or I will curse you to death. "

Waving my hand, I saw Ryuuta shaking his head in defeat as he also waved to me before I walked away from the vicinity.

After leaving the school, the young youth with small brownish hair and a build flexible enough to become proficient in any sport he joins, met some specific figures who were waiting for him slightly away from the school gate.

The three girls who were waiting for Ryuuta were undoubtedly the three beauties who came to meet him at the lunch break. The reason why even one of them, being an idol, was able to meet with him on the streets was that they were currently not visible to normal perception.

However, Ryuuta was able to see them clearly because of the senses he had trained until now.

"Good work, out there, Ryuuta."

It was Aoi who greeted him as; he responded only with a nod, unlike usual, making the three slightly guilty as they were aware of Ryuuta's current sullen mood.

"Ryuuta-kun...I know it's tough for you to sacrifice your friendship, but what we are doing, isn't just to protect Kiyoshi-kun(MC) but also countless innocent out there. I hope you can understand."

Spoke in a whispering yet deep tone was the red-haired athletic beauty, Hana, who knew how deeply Ryuuta was influenced by his friendship with Kei, which makes her and the other two jealous quite often.

"I know, Hana, but sometimes I just can't pretend not to see how Kei has become lonely these days. I have you guys beside me, but he doesn't have a single person he can share his words with. I feel sometimes really helpless."

Hearing Ryuuta's remark, no one said anything as they knew what Ryuuta was saying was correct. Being an orphan was never a case for any three of them, so they could only sympathize with Kei, but nothing specific for it.

Ryuuta, on the other hand, recovered from his reverie as he looked forward toward the three and said something which had been bothering him for quite some time now.

"Contact the intelligence and ask them to keep a close eye on the girl who has just transferred to our school."

The three in front became perplexed before something popped up in their mind that Aoi voiced out instead of the other two.

"Ryuuta..is she...?"

Ryuuta filled in her words as he confirmed their doubts.

"Yes, she is an inhuman and strangely interested in Kei. I don't know what she is, but if she tries to approach him with evil intent, I will make sure to transfer her to a faraway place of no return."

A/N:- Look, Ryuuta's friendship with Kei is far more profound than I have shown until now. The situation won't lead in a strange rainbow manner and will continue as pure brotherhood between the two where Kei would save Ryuuta's ass from the shadows.
