Chapter 81: The Jade Lotus Pavilion
Ye Rou set her teacup down, the delicate porcelain clinking softly against the wood. She lowered her head, her fingers curling nervously in her lap. A sad, yet beautifully resilient smile touched her lips.
"Things have been... challenging, Su Mei," Ye Rou confessed softly, her massive, uncontained breasts resting heavily against the edge of the table, heaving with a quiet sigh. "The main family has reduced our stipend again. With Kai entering the Academy, the fees, the cultivation resources... it’s draining what little we have. I was actually just telling Kai that I might need to take up washing clothes at night to make ends meet."
Su Mei’s sharp, beautifully lined eyes flickered. She looked at Ye Rou's worn yellow dress, then slowly slid her gaze back to Kai, a wicked, calculating spark igniting in her dark pupils.
"Oh, my poor, sweet Ye Rou," Su Mei purred, her voice dripping with sympathy, though her eyes were entirely focused on the handsome young man across from her.
She leaned forward. The crimson silk of her qipao strained to its absolute limits, the plunging neckline offering Kai a dizzying, unobstructed view of her deep, perfumed cleavage.
"You don't have to worry about a thing," Su Mei smiled, her red lips curving seductively. "I have the perfect solution."
Ye Rou looked up, her eyes widening with hope. "You do?"
"Of course," Su Mei said, tapping a manicured fingernail against her chin. She shifted her weight, and beneath the table, Kai felt the sudden, electric brush of a silk-clad knee sliding deliberately against his calf. "Your strong, handsome son can come work for me. Part-time, of course, so it doesn't interfere with his Academy studies."
Kai kept his face perfectly neutral, though his Intelligence 11 immediately registered the soft pressure of Su Mei's leg rubbing against his under the table.
"Work for you?" Ye Rou blinked in surprise. "But... at the Jade Lotus Pavilion?"
The Jade Lotus Pavilion was Su Mei’s business—an exclusive, high-class bathhouse and beauty parlor located in the wealthy inner district. It was a place where the richest, most bored, and most pampered noblewomen went to get massages, skin treatments, and gossip.
"Exactly," Su Mei hummed, taking a slow sip of her tea, her eyes locked on Kai's.
"But... but Su Mei," Ye Rou stammered, her brow furrowing in confusion. "Kai is a boy. He doesn't know anything about that stuff! How will he do that? He doesn't know how to apply rouge, or mix bath oils, or style hair..."
Kai leaned back in his chair, playing his part perfectly.
"Yeah, Aunty," Kai said, scratching the back of his neck with a boyish, awkward chuckle. "It’s a bit weird for me. I can't do that kind of work. I wouldn't even know where to put my hands on those noble ladies."
Oh, I know exactly where I'd put my hands, Kai thought, a dark smirk hiding behind his innocent facade. A parlor full of rich, high-class women? It's a goldmine.
Su Mei threw her head back and laughed. It was a rich, throaty, incredibly sultry sound that made her massive, crimson-wrapped breasts bounce and jiggle wildly, completely mesmerizing both mother and son.
"Oh, you sweet, silly boys!" Su Mei giggled, her silk-wrapped leg pressing a little firmer against Kai's calf under the table. "You don't have to do the makeup of the ladies, Kai! Heavens, no. My girls handle the delicate treatments."
She leaned in, her voice dropping to a husky whisper.
"It's just... I need a strong, capable presence. You can do some of the heavier lifting, manage the inventory, or be at the reception desk to welcome my clients. Having a handsome, well-built young man greeting them at the door? The noblewomen will absolutely love it. I mean, that's not hard work, and it certainly isn't 'girlish', right?"
She looked back at Ye Rou, offering a reassuring, dazzling smile.
"Oh, honey, don't worry," Su Mei promised, reaching across the table to pat Ye Rou’s hand. "Your son will do it for you. It will pay exceptionally well, and he’ll be perfectly safe under my... personal supervision."
Ye Rou looked incredibly relieved, but she still turned to Kai, her sweet face full of maternal concern.
"Kai?" she asked softly. "Are you okay with it, son? I don't want you to feel embarrassed or forced into anything. You are a cultivator now."
Kai looked at his stepmother’s hopeful, tired eyes, and then at the absolute goddess of a MILF sitting across from him, whose silk-stockinged foot was now brazenly tracing circles on his ankle.
"Umm... yeah, Mom," Kai said, keeping a straight face. "I have no problem with it. If it helps us, I'll do it. Reception and heavy lifting. I can handle that."
"Oh, thank the heavens!" Ye Rou exhaled, her heavy chest falling with a massive sigh of relief.
She turned to her friend, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears of gratitude.
"Su Mei, thank you so much," Ye Rou said, her voice thick with emotion. She bit her lower lip, looking down at the table again. "But... I am feeling so embarrassed about this. I know you are only doing this because of me. Like... you are giving my son a job just because I am your friend. It feels like charity, and I don't know what to say about this..."
Su Mei’s playful demeanor instantly vanished, replaced by a look of fierce, protective affection.
"Ahh... Ye Rou, stop that," Su Mei scolded gently, reaching across the table with both hands to grasp Ye Rou’s. "Don't act like that. We are not just friends, we are practically sisters. If you behave like this, getting all formal and guilty, I will start doubting our bond."
Su Mei squeezed Ye Rou’s hands, flashing a brilliant, knowing smile that made her look breathtakingly beautiful.
"And besides," Su Mei added, her sultry voice returning. "Because of this arrangement, you'll have to come visit the Pavilion to check on him, which means I get the chance to meet you more frequently, right? It's a win for me."
Ye Rou sniffled, a bright, beautiful smile finally breaking through her embarrassment. She wiped a stray tear from her eye.
"Yeah," Ye Rou smiled, her massive breasts heaving as she let out a happy breath. "Yeah, you are right, Su Mei. Thank you."
