Chapter 144: The Sand Demon Vs. The King of the Underworld
"Do you want to participate in an experiment?"
Such words rang out in the ears of Tydings IV again and again as if a broken plate, or worse, as if the devil himself is whispering to his very soul.
In the world of Pentateuch, there are two types of leaders, the strong and the wise, the strong take up the superior post, heroes, hero prospects were high-ranking nobles, princes, princesses, kings or queens,
The Ancient Calamities, are the individuals who make these people look like clowns. The wise, are those who are in the lower caste, they can be the last line of noble or royal inheritance and mostly at the backlines, in the mercy of the strong.
Such were the dynamics of the world, the iron rule that keeps the delicate balance of the world where a single individual can hold the power to destroy a country or control it as if it was a whore fawning over his dick. However, there are always exceptions to the rules, people who can choose brain or brawn whenever they feel like it.
They are deemed as the glitch in the matrix, people who should not have existed, one of such individuals, Aerendil was offering the hero of Tydings such a ridiculous offer, he should have rejected it, he had to, yet for some reason he saw a ray of hope, a hope to finally surpass the one deemed as the pinnacle of humanity.
"What experiment?"
He asked, his tone apprehensive, but deep down, Tydings IV already knew what it was, recently his spies inside Stardust had been hearing rumors that the kingdom of elves was cultivating several warriors en-masse that could go against heroes individually, of course, he wouldn't believe such a ridiculous claim, but he knew that it is plausible that the experiment really will give one a lot of benefits.
"I think you already knew it King Tydings, but let me explain, I am developing an artificial crystal."
As he said that, Aerendil pulled out a green crystal, shining and radiating mana, the mana was so immense that the hair of the two men in the throne room of Tydings IV started to flutter, if an ordinary person is to bear the radiation, that person would have already been blasted out of the room.
Unconsciously, Tydings IV gulped, he could not help but mutter.
"Wha... what does it do?"
In his mind, Aerendil snorted, people who hunger for power are the easiest to control, not only would they be able to recognize something with a potential to help them achieve their goal, but they would also devour it without remorse.
"It injects mana in a body, mana so abundant that it will be able to fool the system to give them a unique skill, or an artificial hero prospect, hero even, status. So far, I was able to successfully produce three generals with this crystal core, and this time, I would like to see what will happen if I administer it to an individual who is already so strong."
As Tydings IV nodded repeatedly, Aerendil continued.
"But, don't worry, as I said, the crystal has already been successfully administered more than 1 time, so consider this my payback to you."
The almost drooling face of Tydings IV froze a little.
"Payback? For what?"
The King of Tydings asked.
"I need help in quelling the rebellion of Luna and the dark elves, they now have gotten the backing of Sophia Demiurge, the one who recently conquered the Five-Pronged Forest, so I will give you your wish, to get to the level and perhaps surpass Urduja while you will give us troop support."
Tydings IV was tempted, he wanted to say yes immediately, but his bearing as a king did not allow him to easily agree, this looked like a very unfair trade because he would only receive the benefit and not his whole kingdom, and as a leader, he cannot bear to agree to such a trade, and of course, Aerendil knew of this conviction of his counterpart, so he immediately followed up.
"Don't think that this will be a selfish agreement Tydings, after all, in this world, the strength of a leader is the strength of his kingdom, look at Valentine, because they have two heroes, that is, in fact, part of the ancient calamities, they are unshakable and is not even fazed by the emergence of a new nation right in front of them if you can get yourself this kind of power, not only you will achieve your lifelong goal, you will also be able to protect Tydings better."
Hearing this, Tydings IV remained silent, but in his mind, it felt like such a proposition made sense, he slowly nodded and then affirmed his consent. Just like that, Tydings got a temporary body double as he was placed in a temporary coma and an artificial amniotic fluid as he was given not only one, but 5 crystals to double his mana count, and when he woke up, severe power welled out upon his very being, so severe it was that he has to retrain himself for a while before being functional once more.
He was full of gratitude that he had offered himself to be one of the fighting forces of the elven side in the Second Elven Undead War, so here he was now, waiting for something interesting to happen, and as if on cue, several shouts could be heard outside his tent, he immediately stood up in alertness, and as he did, a soldier suddenly emerged.
"My Lord! The command camp is under attack! A tsunami made out of sand is heading towards us!"
Tydings IV immediately got serious, his whole body immitted heat as his golden armor morphed and turned obsidian black whilst the huge claw marks that serve as a design now had some lava dripping out of it, he ordered.
"Retreat immediately! I will stop the tsunami, you will have to get out of the battlefield and send a message that the command post is tilted towards the side because of the fight!"
He did not wait for the soldier and immediately went out of the tent, there he saw something out of his nightmare, a 10-meter, maybe higher sand wave was coming their way, several soldiers who were watching the walls of the temporary camp were already drowned forever in the apocalyptic tsunami that has multiple waves rolling against each other as if competing on which will be the one to have the most kill, he shouted his orders once again and he created several obsidian walls in the feet of the sand to break its momentum and lower its height.
Only after it was 5 minutes in, when the soldiers successfully retreated with the help of the elves in the backlines did he glare at the Sand Tsunami, he raised both his hands as if he was a conductor and then clutched the air and with one brisk motion, he pulled his arms up, at that motion, a crack appeared on the earth about 10 meters in length and who knows how deep, all of the seers, however, can confirm that it's glowing and when the canyon stopped forming, it spat out a lava wave of its own, and what is more fascinating is that lava is usually an explosive occurrence, yet the wave is as majestic as it can get.
Like the sand tsunami, the lava waves were rolling against each other, its crimson color when it crashed against the sand tsunami intermingled with the pale gold of the sand, causing a brilliant, aurora-like illusion that made people forget that the two gargantuan unliving mass murderers in the shape of a wave will cause an existential crisis if they delayed their escape any further.
The sand and the lava started to settle down, altering a portion of the once lush forests of Stardust into a place of newly formed obsidian hills, molten rocks, and molten glass, Tydings IV looked at his front, in there he saw a woman of heavenly curves, if not for the display of genocidal power she have just done earlier, then she would have been aroused, she has a golden filipiniana as a dress whilst her left arm is littered with incomprehensible letters, shining brightly matching her golden hair and dress.
Eleanor and Tydings stared each other down, proclaiming the dawn of the battle between The Sand Demon and The King of the Underworld.
________The first series of battles in the main battlefield, as well as the singular battles between the living and the dead, raged on for the whole day, and when the two parties saw that the sun was setting, the human-elven army as well as the undeads and dark elves retreated. On one hand, the living is naturally tired, while the undeads were ordered to retreat even though they can rage on for virtually forever because the resurrection sequence of their race was halted.
Something that [Guide] who has the same mental processing power as his master cannot decipher for a short time. Such deterrence was used by the elves for them to be on even ground when the first elven undead war (in terms of stamina) raged on.
Too bad Aerendil's previous generals all perished in the first war, including Luna's Parents, if not, then the living would have an advantage and Kamatayan would have to thin out its protection of their living city and Magayon even more.
The soldiers are unfazed by their seemingly even odds because the fight between their respective two strongest individuals will be the true deciding factor.
Also, the sneak attack of the Stardust water force, if they are not visited early on by Sophia herself, right now, they are silently looking at the night sky, with the concerto of light and darkness coming from the continuous fight of their two ladies against their former masters. That's right, all of the elves inside the ship, as well as the human slaves, turned crew that is shipped from Exodus continent are already undeads.
They just really don't have any chance of survival when they meet Sophia, so they are now willingly abiding by her very first order, to wait for the fleet advisor of the Kamatayan navy that will defend the Queendom against the invasion of Valentine.
"How's the situation?"
Suddenly, a voice was heard in the mothership, the former fleet admiral heard it and immediately smiled.
"The whole Stardust Navy has been converted into undeads by Lady Sophia, Admiral Flou, we are only waiting for your instructions to officially join the Kamatayan Navy."
Flou was chosen as the admiral because he is the one in the whole of Kamatayan who is familiar with the inner workings of Valentine, and he is already old for a human's standard, so he has accumulated a lot of skills, one of them is naval strategy, which is weird because he doesn't have any missions with leading any kind of military before, but is a useful skill nonetheless.
Flou nodded at this, and without further ado, he ordered: "Then, let us depart as fast as possible."
The former admiral nodded and then immediately conveyed the orders, it only took a short while for the whole fleet to assume a traveling formation and set sail towards the shore of Kamatayan, which is supposed to be a long circumvention if not for the spells of the Elven navy.
__________
In the expanse of the supposed endless universe.
A "family" of three is sitting in three white chairs with golden arches on their back, one of this "family" is a woman with several lights flickering from different parts of her body, wearing nothing, yet the two men on her both sides are not fazed, well one such reason is that the woman is the mother goddess of the very universe they exist in, and any motion of disrespect can lead to their doom.
Another reason is that the two are literal gods, they can have a wife, or a husband, but will certainly not feel lust unconsciously, their desires are their slaves and plaything, not the other way around.
The three are watching a section of their "garden" that doesn't have any plants but is a clump of galaxies, their bright light showing the scene of the greatest war of the current time in Pentateuch, and, not because they are pitying the mortals for such insignificant strife, in fact, the three gods are anticipating the results of the war, the changes Sophia will make the "logical development" of the world do.
"It seems like round 1 just ended... the same as before."
The god of streams nodded at the remark of Siginarugan, Paraluman, the mother goddess did not speak up even though her son started the conversation. This made the person who is not part of the family, the god of streams, a little awkward, so he changed the topic.
"On the side of Lord Sinag, the invasion of Gjallarhorn is about to start... just as before."
Siginarugan did not say anything and just sighed, but this time, Paraluman finally spoke.
"So this is Sophia, our final shot in breaking the time loop of the world of Pentateuch, and ultimately, the universe."
