Chapter 277: You have very bad luck.

--Wednesday, July 8, 2172

“How...?”

In the middle of a dark, half-destroyed bar, Nemuri looked at the hand-covered lunatic, who was completely restrained, staring towards the bar while whispering to himself, full of disbelief. But while others speculated, she was almost sure that what had shocked the bratty psychopath was exactly what she thought, as Kai had explained the functions of Sage's ability, [Alcatraz]. They had agreed to isolate the portal Nomu before the attack.

“No... Get out... We're just getting started.... We're just getting started! Get out!!! Sensei!!!”

At that moment, the lunatic began to scream, trying to get up, only to be put back in his place by a whip crack to his face from Nemuri. In a cold voice, the seductive pro hero commented while watching the other heroes lead out the other members of the League of Villains.

“It's over, Shigaraki Tomura. There's no one left who can come save you, not even that Quirk Thief.”

“No... No. It can't be!”

The hand-covered lunatic began to shake his head, exclaiming like a little child throwing a tantrum, under the watchful eyes of the other league members. But at that moment, a precise whip crack to the jaw sent his strange mask flying, and the infantilized lunatic fell to the floor unconscious.

Stopping paying attention to the lunatic, Nemuri turned to look outside, where a large number of policemen could be seen apprehending the villains. A worried expression crossed her face. After all, the Pussycats had told her that the Nomus had suddenly disappeared from the place they were attacking, which inevitably made her think of her beloved.

(If it's too dangerous, run away, Kai... Anything is preferable to losing you...)

Worried, Nemuri placed a hand on her chest as she looked at the sky and offered a silent prayer.

………

“We have company. The Quirk-stealer brought all his Nomus to play.”

Along with Kai's announcement, from clusters of dark matter, Nomus of different colors began to emerge, letting out powerful growls. Hearing the roars, All Might clenched his fists and prepared for battle, but at that moment, Kai's calm, distorted voice resonated in his ears.

“Focus on the quirk-stealer. I'll handle the rabble.”

Hearing this, All Might turned to look at him, only to find him in a crouched combat stance, holding his two swords. It was almost as if he were gathering momentum while thick, dark purple, almost completely black, lightning bolts flickered around him. At that instant, before All Might could say anything, Kai vanished from his sight, leaving behind only a trail of dark purple electricity and a strong gust of wind.

Surprised, All Might watched as the electrical trail cut through the Nomus, leaving behind monstrous bodies sliced into several pieces, which inevitably caused the Symbol of Peace to swallow hard. But quickly, All Might regained his composure and clenched his fists, then launched himself to pursue his sworn enemy.

…

Moving at an absurd speed, a couple of times faster than his maximum speed before going to Spider Island, Kai followed the route displayed on his helmet while cutting down any Nomu that appeared in his path. The rune was calculated by Sage using all the power of the recently upgraded server farm, with the goal of assassinating all the Nomus in the fastest and most efficient way.

[What happened with the girls, Sage? Why did these things appear here?]

After cutting down another Nomu, Kai asked in a serious tone through his mental connection with his reliable assistant. The beautiful fairy flying beside him in [In] state replied in a calm tone.

[Nothing serious, Master. Actually, they are winning quite easily, but a few seconds ago, a large number of Nomus disappeared from the facility and appeared here. Though the number doesn't match, so it's likely there are more 'production plants' that we are unaware of.]

[Try to locate them. While eliminating the quirk-stealer should solve most of the problems, it's better not to leave such power lying around.] Kai ordered in a serious tone, to which Sage nodded and replied.

[I'm on it, Master.]

[Perfect.] Kai commented, satisfied, as he tried to blow the head off a black-colored Nomu that had just emerged from the dark matter.

But upon doing so, Kai couldn't help but open his eyes in surprise; after all, his sword got stuck halfway through the Nomu's head. Quickly, Kai activated his black-and-white vision to “look” at the Nomu, as, due to the quirk-stealer, he kept his Haki to a minimum to avoid the discomfort of “hearing” his “voice.”

Seeing the Nomu's “silhouette,” Kai couldn't help but narrow his eyes upon noticing something strange. The Nomu in front of him was different from the normal Nomus he knew. Not only did it not have a “fragile voice” like the others, but its  “silhouette” seemed even more  “robust,” though no less strange.

Its silhouette was somehow a diluted mix between that of Midoriya and that of the quirk-stealer, with several silhouettes taking the approximate shape of the Nomu and that of a person at the same time, looking quite chaotic.

At that moment, Kai saw in the Nomu's eyes a glint of wisdom and resentment as it raised its arm, which grew in size, trying to strike him, which surprised him even more. But mere surprise was insufficient to paralyze him, so Kai immediately activated his advanced Armament Haki and enveloped his sword in it. This caused Kai's sword, previously stuck, to slice through the Nomu's head like butter, easily splitting it in two.

[Sage, extend the AP Field and select a couple of these black Nomus to capture in Alcatraz. We need to investigate them more deeply.] While kicking off the ground to shoot towards the next Nomu, Kai ordered seriously. Equally serious and curious, Sage nodded.

[Immediately… the recalculated route is being sent to your helmet, Master.]

[Perfect.] Seeing the route change displayed on his helmet, Kai replied, satisfied, then slightly increased his speed to change course and continue his slaughter.

…

(What a devastating quirk, I really must take it...)

While taking advantage of the smoke, AFO couldn't help but click his tongue as his infrared vision combined with his vibration perception allowed him to realize the massacre that Saito Kai had begun. In a matter of seconds, a boy barely over 15 years old had managed to kill more than 40 Nomus, including 3 High-End Nomus. As recently awakened as they were, even All Might shouldn't have been able to kill those High-End Nomus so quickly, without letting them do anything.

But with his survival being more important, AFO soon pushed the thought aside and used a telekinesis quirk to bring his almost-shattered mask, which he had barely managed to repair the most basic life support on. But just as he tried to put it on, a huge fist appeared in front of him, followed by a very familiar voice.

“California Smash!”

The brutal blow once again struck the mask, shattering it completely, while AFO, gritting his teeth, could barely use both hands, strengthened by different quirks, to try to withstand the impact. Still, AFO was sent crashing into the floor at a brutal speed, destroying the ground while letting out a mouthful of thick blood.

The destruction of the floor revealed a lower level that seemed to be a biological laboratory with many empty medical capsules, where AFO landed hard, shattering the floor and spitting out another mouthful of blood. At that moment, All Might landed softly on the floor, holding the last pieces of the mask in his right hand, which he crushed forcefully, turning them to dust as a shockwave spread out everywhere.

“You know about the mask… You don't seem injured… Your strength has barely decreased… And you even use weapons capable of interfering with my regeneration… What happened to you…?” Visibly choking, AFO tried to get up as best he could while looking at the brass knuckles on All Might's hands, who replied in a cold voice.

“Nothing you deserve to know, All For One. You only need to know that today is your end.”

Immediately after speaking, All Might stomped the ground and shot towards the man who had killed his teacher, landing a full-powered punch squarely on his face without holding back in the slightest. While All Might felt a sense of euphoria and satisfaction, AFO's face was completely destroyed, and he was sent flying backward, destroying everything in his path and receiving more injuries.

But knowing who he was fighting, All Might didn't stop there and quickly pursued his enemy, turning to begin a point-blank barrage of attacks with the intention, this time, once and for all, to end the Symbol of Evil.

………

In a hidden basement of a hospital, Mirko watched the police and various heroes take evidence and photographs, then looked at the empty medical capsules with a serious expression. Then the rabbit pro hero turned to look at the Pussycats, who were leaving the place. With a jump, the rabbit heroine reached them, at which point she looked at Ryuko and asked in a casual voice.

“And how is the boy doing?”

“Quite well, he has already fully recovered.”

Ryuko replied with a calm smile, to which Mirko nodded and then fell silent, continuing to walk with them. Confused, the Pussycats turned to look at the rabbit hero, who, noticing the looks, looked them directly in the eyes and announced in a firm voice.

“Then tell the boy I'll be free next week; he can call me for training.”

After speaking, Mirko quickened her pace to leave the place, leaving the Pussycats with somewhat awkward smiles. Well, that was the case for Shino, Ryuko, and Tomoko; Chatora, on the other hand, looked at his companions and asked, somewhat amused.

“So what are you going to do~?”

“...Let's just focus on work; it's not the time to get distracted.”

Shino replied in a serious tone, to which Ryuko and Tomoko nodded, and Chatora couldn't help but laugh. But at that moment, a small tremor shook the ground, putting the Pussycats on alert, who almost purely out of instinct turned to look towards a distant mountain. This allowed them to see just in time as a huge fireball rose into the air, making them open their eyes in panic and exclaim in unison.

“““Kai!!”””

………

After a couple of seconds of unleashing all his power against the helpless AFO, All Might suddenly felt all his danger alerts activate at once, so he quickly jumped backward. This action allowed him to dodge several wind blades that created enormous cutting scars all over the place. At that instant, a chaotic, muffled voice resonated throughout the area.

“Hahaha... Dangerous, truly dangerous. I really could have died if I hadn't been prepared. Hahahaha.”

As the voice echoed, All Might watched in horror as, among the rubble and smoke, the figure of All For One rose, completely healed and seemingly rejuvenating. At that moment, AFO pointed his right hand at All Might, and as colossal amounts of energy gathered in his hands, he commented in a cold voice, yet firm and young.

“You have very bad luck, All Might. If you had arrived a little earlier, things might have been different for you.”

The moment he finished speaking, AFO activated the combination of quirks that created a brutal explosion that shook the entire mountain while All Might deflected it with a punch. Seizing the opportunity, AFO created a golden circle under his feet that launched him upward at great speed, reaching the top of the explosion in an instant.

But the moment he arrived, Saito Kai was already there, who, without mercy, swung his sword at a speed almost imperceptible to him, intending to slice him in half. This forced him to create a yellow shield while using several quirks to repel the energy of the attack and defend himself, but as if that sword could cut through anything, it advanced towards him without pause.

In the end, using a great combination of defensive quirks that caused his arms to inflate disproportionately while various bones, faces, metals, and other strange things gathered, he barely managed to defend himself. But although the slash didn't manage to kill him, his arms were practically severed, and he was launched at high speed towards the ground, creating a huge crater.

Without giving him a pause, Kai moved to try to finish off the annoying quirk-stealing rat, abandoning his idea of testing him little by little to avoid falling victim to some super strange quirk of his. But at that moment, AFO's rough voice resonated in the area, with a rather playful tone that gave Kai a terrible premonition.

“You are truly terrifying, Saito Kai. But are you sure you should be here right now? You might end up losing something valuable because of it...”

[Master, Mrs. Yoshiko's cruise ship is under attack!]

At that very instant, Sage's voice resonated in Kai's mind, causing the blue-eyed youth to open his eyes in disbelief. This then transformed into a murderous rage that caused his Conqueror's Haki to go out of control and manifest without restraint, causing the sky to split and his lightning bolts to turn completely black and spread uncontrollably across the mountain.
